normally we should be at 78. ten degrees above average. you factor in the humidity it's going to feel like 90. winds out of the southwest at 10 to 20 miles per hour. here's the way the afternoon will play out. we'll see an increase in sunshine. lunchtime, 83. 3:00 p.m., 87. 6:00 p.m., 85. you factor in the humidity it will feel two degrees warmer than the numbers you saw there. warm and steamy. the conditions last through sunday. sunday evening and sunday night and monday, showers and thunderstorms develop some of them will be heavy with drenching downpours and the possibility is there even though it's dry around here, the possibility is there for finer flooding issues, we'll talk about that when i see you in ten minutes. >> thanks, chris. breaking news this morning one new jersey new jersey state trooper is dead another is dead after their cruiser hit a deer in monmouth county.

annie mccormick joins us live from the troop c barracks in hamilton township mercer county with the latest, annie? >> reporter: eva it sounds like a tragic accident that happened. now the new jersey troopers are mourning one of their own. they are patrolling around monmouth county. this is the video from the scene around 1:00 a.m. early this morning on 195. a deer ran in front of the cruiser as it headed eastbound. the crown vic torah -- crown vic struck a tree. the trooper who was with him had lacerations and neck injury and he has been treated and released from the hospital. the state police captain talked about the severity of the crash. >> they struck the deer, the

car veered off the woods striking trees. the one trooper who died, died immediately. the other trooper sustained relatively minor injuries, he has been checked out and released from the hospital. >> reporter: of course this all unfolded hours ago captain stephen jones telling us they expect to release the identity of the trooper killed sometime today they are waiting to notify next of kin. for live, now in hasmal ton new jersey -- hamilton new jersey, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news". >> police are look be for the -- are looking for the two gunmen who shot a girl who is now in critical condition. two men unleashed 17 shots. a bullet hit the girl in the abdomin. she was sitting on the front steps of the neighbor's home on felt ton street. police say the girl was not the

target. no word on who was or why. she was taken to temple university hospital. also new this morning, a man is in serious condition after being shot all multiple times in logan west duncannon street near north 6th street. a man in his 30s was hit four times in both legs, he was rushed to einstein. no arrests have been made. philadelphia police are searching for answer this morning after a dead baby was taken to a hospital in a duffle bag. authorities think the baby boy was born thursday at a home in west philadelphia. they say someone brought the baby in a duffle bag to the hospital the university of pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead. family friends tell "action news" the 22-year-old mother was possibly five to six months pregnant and lives in the home with family members. >> i'm scared.

>> reporter: what are you most concerned about right now? >> the baby. her life, the baby's life. >> an autopsy is expected to be performed on the baby. police say the mother was also taken to hup it is not clear what she is being treated for. a person of interest is in custody in connection with two sexual attacks on woman in south philadelphia. police are waiting to see if dna evidence linked rahime felder to the crimes. >> reporter: it was a ten thousand dollars reward and subsequently tipster that led police to rahime felder. u.s. marshals and police raided his mother's home a few brokes from where the assaults took place. it appears rahime felder was in the process of packing his bags and fled before lawmen could get there. >> reporter: how do you feel that he is being sought for it? >> i'm not thrilled. >> reporter: is it hard for you to believe.

>> i'm still in shock. >> reporter: sources say they did find gloves and sneakers and clothing that appear to match those warn in one or both attacks. the rape and robbery of the mother on rose rosewood and the sexual assault of a woman back in march. rahime felder was released from prison after serving 12 years for attempted murder. no comment from his lawyer, police are waiting for the results of dna evidence to see if rahime felder can be linked to the crimes. at special victims i'm dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." a little girl is recovering after being hit by a car in the city's frankford section. police say the driver took off. it happened around 9:30 at frankford and margaret. it appears the girl was riding a bike when she was hit. the girl was taken to saint christopher's hospital for children and expected to recover. police are searching for the

driver. in berks county a 4-year-old girl had to be flown to the hospital after falling from a second-story window. it happened on lincoln court. the girl is expected to be okay. her brother told police there's normally a fan in that window, but it was removed. police in delaware county have identified the man found dead inside a suitcase and dumped in a we'ded -- weeded area alongside of the road. a man walking his dog found the body when he smelled the strong odor on second street in lester. pentagon said the anthrax scare is more widespread than first reported. department. defense said anthrax went to 11 states, south korea and south jersey. labs in new jersey and delaware

looking at a combination of sun an clouds. monday this is where things get tricky. the canadian high will force the front farther to the south and the latest forecast has the front sitting over top us, with all the moisture and the humidity out there you get a frontal system on top of you that means downpours and there's the possibility of several of those monday afternoon. later on today sun and clouds, maybe one or two of you see a pop-up shower not a big deal. tomorrow waking up to clouds just like this morning you'll see the sun break through maybe one or two see a spotty shower. it's tomorrow evening arena tomorrow night the cold front collapses from the north an sits over the delaware valley. lots of showers and thunderstorms on monday, drenching downpours, the late forecast guidance has 2 to 3 inches north and west, 1 to 2 south and east. if the front pushes to the south and gets hung up here, across the delaware bay region it will be this part of the viewing area

optimistic and pragmatic. they are prepared and it is something they thought about a long time ago. >> >> reporter: the class of 2015 leaves campus among some of the most favorably employment stirveghts -- statistics in years. >> it's relatively good all around and improving but students are still looking for the right job. >> reporter: kelly bishop is the director of the career center at the university of maryland. he said the class is more optimistic than immediate predecessors, but cautiously so. >> most students are not concerned about getting a job or being under-employed or having to take a job not in their preferred field. they realize it's competitive and you ever to compete for it.

another hurt after their cruiser hit a deer and slammed into a tree. it happened in upper freehold township monmouth county. annie mccormick joins us live from the troop c barracks in hamilton township. >> reporter: men and women here are mourning the loss of one of their own after a police cruiser carrying two troopers did hit a deer and like you said hit trees. one of the troopers died the other was injured but survived. this was video of the scene it happened around 1:00 a.m. the troopers were patrolling eastbound on 195 when their crown victoria hit a deer and struck a tree. the 24-year-old trooper behind the wheel died, the passenger was injured, but taken to the hospital and has been released he is okay. well, this morning captain stephen jones updated us about

their conditions and history with the department. >> new jersey state police family suffered a tragic loss this morning whether a troop car accident involving a deer killed one trooper and injured another one. both troopers had a year and half maybe a little less with the second trooper who was injured. >> reporter: and both of those troopers assigned to the hamilton station now there are many of their colleagues that are just learning news of the trooper's death. it all unfolded early in the morning. because of that, troopers are not releasing the name of the trooper that was killed until they notify next of kin. reporting live in hasmal -- hamilton, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> seven miles of beaches in the los angeles area reopened. a coast guard monitored the oily

animal shelter is busy saving cats and dogs and getting them ready for adoption. here's melissa magee. >> reporter: the cape may county animal shelter has saved 4,000 animals since opening in 2004. our mission is to provide education, care, compassion to cape may county's cats and dogs. >> more than 200 cats and dogs on site it takes a village volunteers to take care of the animals and prepare them for their forever home. >> they need one on one on one one on one interaction. >> the shelter averages 400 adoption per year. it's true making a difference in cape may county. it's rewording to see the dogs leave and the cats leave. >> reporter: looking to find his connection is rupert. he will be 2 years old on june 11th. he is well trained.
