city. where downpours soaked the boardwalk today. of course the big concern at the shore and elsewhere is flash flooding. motorists needed to be very careful in ocean city where the streets become rivers and are not done yet. it is monday and the big story is the torrential rain with plenty of thunder and lightning. and the latest information from accuweather and meteorologist cecily tynan at the big board. >> jim, too much rain too quickly especially south of philadelphia. double scan live showing you can almost cut the region in half. north of philadelphia the evening has been a steady lighter rain. but south is where we are getting the heavy rain and some severe weather. earlier this evening, zooming in you see the good news is if you look at the lightning strikes we only had four lightning likes in the past 15 minutes. this is really lessening in intensity. a steady moderate rain but the

damage has been done if we switch this into the mode showing how much rain has fallen, tremendous amounts of rain. just north of 322, that purple is six inches of rain the radar estimates. and bridgeton four inches and bayside also four inches. this is the region where we are seeing the flooding. the national weather service flood warning from cumberland county into atlantic county until 12:45 in the morning. a lot of flooding on roads, and also smaller creeks and streams have been flooding over. and i have got a lot of pictures on facebook and twitter. and jim sent it from camden and the waterfront seeing another word for waterfront the water inland and too much water, popping the manhole cover off. some of the flooding issues can linger into the morning commute.

and talking about that in the full accuweather seven-day forecast. and dann cuellar traveled the delaware valley as the rain fell. here is what he saw. >> the skies open up in williams town, new jersey along 322 and sicklerville road. the water could not drain fast enough and in minutes minor flooding. >> it filled up quickly. it was scary actually. >> and motorists say it was difficult to drive. >> lack of visibility during driving. at one point i pulled over briefly so get myself together the rain was heavy. >> terrible. i drove to atlantic city on the atlantic city expressway. coming home if you weren't a very experienced driver, most people pulled over. they were afraid to go very -- the speed limit, of course. >> and in pennsylvania on route 202, it was pretty much the same story. heavy rains making for poor

no motive or suspect at this hour. investigators call the fire that killed one man this afternoon suspicious. firefighters responded to the home at 52nd and greenway avenue in southwest philadelphia at exactly 12:14. the flames were put out 10 minutes later. firefighters found a man dead inside. fire commissioner sawyer says a strong smell of accelerate and dogs hit on two spots during the investigation. 19 people receiving assistance from the red cross burned out of their homes in chester early this morning. the investigators say the blaze broke out in a vacant home at 2:00 a.m. the flames then spread to four other homes. a fifth dwelling sustained smoke damage. investigators are trying to determine if the fire is connected to one at a nearby vacant home a few days ago. funeral arrangements get to be announced for the former
