>> let's talk about the aftermath and what's happening at a with david and karen. good morning. >> the nice thing about heavy rain like that is you go looking around out your windows while it's coming down and you can tell exactly where you failed to clean the gutters. i've got work to do today. let's look at storm tracker six live double scan. no active rain that's anywhere near heavy enough to exacerbate flooding issues but we do still have some ponding and puddling on roadways where that heavy rain yesterday got into some backed up storm drains and you want to be careful of that driving around. just a couple of light showers and nothing more than some drizzle here on the terrace currently. as we take a look at the flood advisories this morning, that looks to be all off the map. we were expecting both the flood watch and advisories to potentially expire by about 6 o'clock and i wanted to show you that has happened. satellite and radar shows you cloud cover across the region and probably staying fairly cloudy and cooler today, too a couple of month are sprinkles and showers are possible but nothing heavy. temperatures as you step outside 54 degrees in philadelphia humidity is lower and with a little bit of a breeze blowing despite the

drizzle it actually feels pretty refreshing and comfortable. as we roll through the day your storm tracker six app may drop to 53 by 8 o'clock and then turn around to 58 by noon but as i mentioned it's going to be basically cloudy and cool with an occasional sprinkle or shower passing through and a high today of only 63 at 3 o'clock. we do have a warmup coming back at you in the accuweather 7-day forecast and karen i'll have more on that coming up in a couple of minutes. for now that road is not looking bad. >> not bad with nothing but light showers out there we're really starting to dry out on the roadway. here's a live look in new jersey route 42 at creek road where we had so much rain and today you're traveling okay, no problems. northbound traffic from turnersville blackwood deptford all looking pretty good. but with 6-inches of rain in parts of south jersey that's where we still have flooding concerns where the water hasn't entirely receded. this is one of those spots franklin township route 40 harding highway westbound near tuckahoe road we've got flooding out here blocking the left lane. also in chesilhurst camden county flooding here too. this is the white that's

route 30 westbound approaching hendricks street, that flooding blocking the right lane. i told you about this accident in marlton where a car took down a pole out here. they have since cleared the accident scene. things are looking better. crews are on the shoulder just working on the downed traffic signal but the car is out of the way and traffic is getting by on 70 westbound between 73 and crop pell road. but to replace it we have a couple recent issues here. limekiln pike and babylon road an outside electrical fire and an accident in warminster on davisville road at street road. the accident they moved to a gas station but there may still be debris rot roadway so just watch for that matt. >> will dodge thank you karen. developing this morning several cars burst into flames in camden county overnight and given that they happened around the corner from each other and minutes apart investigators are calling them suspicious. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live at the scene of one of these car fires in pennsauken. katherine. >> reporter: matt, this investigation is certainly under way. no one was injured in all of this but three cars were on

fire overnight. they were within blocks of each other. were unis in camden, two in pennsauken. now, one has been towed. we're standing by a mercedes on woodland avenue in pennsauken and you can see the tires are flat in that parked vehicle. the first fire was reported around one i'm 15 this morning over on the 3900 block of royal avenue in pennsauken. the hood of the honda was up windows had shattered shards of glass were on the street. police and the fire department were on the scene. another fire was reported six minutes after that one about a block away on woodland and after the flames were put out investigators were combing the car for evidence. not far from there over at garden and highland in camden, word of a third fire came in. you could see ash, you could see scorch marks, pieces of the car still sat in the street after it was towed. there's no word if authorities believe these cars were targeted or random but these fires all occurred inside of

an hour. again, they were all within blocks of each other and police want to hear from you if you have any tips. we are live in pennsauken, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> katherine thank you for that. and new this morning an out of control driver smashed into a pole and then took off. it happened on the 5700 block of harbison avenue in philadelphia's frankford section at 2:30 this morning. that crash brought down wires. police caught up with the driver and a passenger nearby. one lane is blocked on harbison avenue near van kirk street while peco crews try to make some repairs. it is now 6:05 and also developing this morning it's a race against time for searchers trying to reach survivors inside a capsized cruise shim it went down overnight in a storm on china's yangtze river. at least five people have died and hundreds more are missing. let's go to erin o'hearn live in the satellite center. good morning. >> good morning, tam. a desperate search and rescue effort going on in china and rescuers are scrambling to try to find survivors inside that wreck. now, there are reports that

some of those rescue teams heard sounds coming from inside that capsized ship so right now they're trying to get into the cabin where they believe those people are. 18 survivors have been rescued so far and that's a number that we've seen rise over the last hour, can which is reassuring but again, five deaths have also been confirmed. and the ship, the eastern star went down around 9:30 monday night during a storm. the survivors include the captain and chief engineer who have both been taken into custody by police according to china's state run news station. the rescue efforts were initially complicated by bad weather. now, it is believed that most of the 458 passengers on board are over the age of 50. there were also 47 crew members and five travel agency workers included in that number. again, we have just learned that now 18 people have been rescued which is up from the number 12 we reported earlier but five people are confirmed dead. of course, this is a

developing story. as these rescuers continue to search through this wreckage, we'll bring you updates both on 6abc and 6abc.com. for now we're live in the sat center erin o'hearn. matt. >> police in berks county released a picture of a mystery motorcyclist wanted in a road rage investigation. police say the motorcyclist punched a 60-year-old woman in the mouth and three her to the pavement. a witness snapped this picture. it happened at the antietam valley shopping center in lawrence saturday night. the woman was treated at the hospital. the man was riding a twenty eight 20's 14 harley-davidson break out model motorcycle. >> five years or 60 months used to be the longest term people took to pay off their car loan. that is changing. maribel aber has more in times square. good morning, maribel. >> reporter: good morning to you tam. consumers are taking out longer loans to pay for their new cars. so the average new car loan hit a record high 67 months in the first quarter and the amount being borrowed is also

at an all time high topping 28,700, this is according to experian. those longer loans mean car owners may need to keep vehicles longer or possibly face negative equity if they're traded in after a few years. slight gains for stocks on monday. right now futures reporting to a lower open. reports on factory orders and latest numbers on motor vehicle sales out due today. delta airlines testing a valueday lay service for carry on bags. employees take the bags at the gate and put them on overhead bins on some flights. they want to see if they can save time having workers do this instead of passengers. the valet service is available on some busy sites and ones popular with vacations. the presumption is business travelers know how to board a plane for quickly or efficiently. if you have ever boarded a delta shuttle you know the difference. >> that's why i just stay around here, don't fly at all. >> that's right. i fly a little bit. >> easier to fly at a than it has been the last couple days. >> yesterday was a mess.

today storm tracker six live double scan shows you we're not so bad a couple scattered showers around and if we give you that two dimensional view you can see most of this is just to the south of philadelphia although in areas where you don't see the green on radar there might be a little bit of mist and drizzle. as we look outside cloudy skies across the region, little misty at the airport right now. the other thing about this morning, you step outside and it's cool and i almost want to say comfortable. if you have a light jacket on you're not doing bad. little bit cloudy and drizzly out there. take a look at numbers. 54 degrees in philadelphia. yesterday when we walked outside it was muggy and close to 70 degrees and of course two days ago even more humid. so today does represent kind of a nice change despite the clouds and the damp conditions. 51 in allentown, 59 currently in sea isle city. we did get record rainfall across parts of the region. yesterday 1.96-inches in philadelphia, 3.80 in wilmington, atlantic city up to 2.22 and despite the fact that flash flood watches and flood advisories are all off the board now there still is

the possibility of some backed up drains that haven't been cleared out by the work crews and you may be cruising along and some flooded conditions left over from overnight especially in south jersey and dealt wear where we had heavy rain. in terms of rain today doesn't look like much else is on the way. a couple light sprinkles and showers by noon, 6 o'clock probably dry. later tonight cecily may have a little more moving in for you on radar adam as well between 10 and 11 o'clock. none of what's come dag is expected to refire any of the flooding we had last night. 60 degrees in the lehigh valley today cloudy and occasionally damp with a very spotty shower. not expecting any thunderstorms today. down the shore cloudy, cool, a spotty shower possible, a high of around 62 degrees and in philadelphia kind of more of the same. a lot of clouds around today spotty showers at times a high of 63 degrees, cool and winds out of the northeast eight to 16 miles per hour. not as humid today as it's been over the last several days. here's how the numbers are going to climb. 53 by 8 o'clock, 56 by 11 o'clock, 62 by 2 o'clock

>> ♪♪ >> welcome back. thank goodness we're not looking at a car dipped into that thing. you're taking a live look at this sinkhole here in hammonton new jersey in atlantic county. we had all that rain all that flooding. the roads just saturated and that thing opened up. you're taking a live look at the barriers and the police car trying to make sure nobody is on their way to the mechanic later this afternoon. >> all right, how are we looking elsewhere karen. >> looking outside and a lot of roads are starting to dry out. things are getting better. a touch of fog too. looking live in chester county, this is the 30 bypass at 322, still no major delays coming in and you're looking pretty good out there. we have an electrical fire that's causing a problem in horsham on limekiln pike at babylon road. this accident we told you about has cleared on

davisville road at street road in warminster. so, some better news there. flooding has been a real problem. we have so much rain, five to 6-inches of rain in parts of south jersey and southern delaware so that's why we're seeing flooding in those areas where the water hasn't completely recede. the white horse pike route 30 westbound approaching hendricks street flooding blocking the right lane and also block the left lane here in franklin township in gloucester county, westbound near tuckahoe road. as we look at the rainfall totals these are radar estimates from yesterday and we can look in that same general area, four, five, 6-inches of rain in some spots right along 322 near hammonton right on the a.c. expressway about 5-inches of rain. so, you're definitely still seeing that as a problem this morning. this is route 55, such a business travel roadway in that area and you're looking a the about 5-inches of rain that affected you there. we can also see the visibility reports. it's a bit of an issue this morning. 4-mile visibility at philadelphia international airport so check before you fly out from there. 2-mile visibility in reading.

2.5-mile visibility in lancaster, 2 miles in beach haven along the coastline. we have a live update on the air now 1.7 in beach haven 1.3 in atlantic city and the fog a little noticeable and light showers but the showers won't affect you too much matt. i think the problem is the rain from yesterday in a lot of spots. >> got that right. thanks karen. a jury has found the son of allentown's police chief not guilty of assault and reckless endangerment. 23-year-old christopher fitzgerald was accused of pointing a gun at undercover detectives during a road rage incident at the lehigh valley mall last augustly his attorney says fitzgerald thought the men in the car were tailgating him and that he feared for his life. >> officials have not identified the american tourist killed by a lion in south africa yesterday. the 24-year-old woman was visiting an animal park in johannesburg. visitors drive through the park as lions roam about freely. officials say the woman disobeyed signs to keep the windows closed. she was taking a picture when a lion lunched at her malling her through an open car window. the driver suffered

the pentagon has learned that additional samples of live anthrax were sent to three labs in canada. until now the department of defense confirms shipments to 12 states. the district of columbia and two other countries. so far no one has become sick. another power failure forced the washington monument to temporarily close. the national park service says the elevator lost power sunday night. no one was on board at the time. the power failure also closed the monument last thursday and friday. primary elections are being held in new jersey today. candidates in 35 of the 40 districts for state assembly are running unopposed. some voters will cast ballots for other contested races as well. polls are opened until 8:00 p.m. experts in great britain have released the first official guidelines to get people moving in the workplace. employees in office settings are urged to stand for at least two hours a day. growing research has linked prolonged sitting with a
