>> ♪♪ >> developing now on "action news," three cars catch fire in the same new jersey neighborhood. we're gathering new information on the suspicious flames. >> storm tracker six taking a look at some rain out there. accuweather is helping you get through any lingering effects from yesterday's drenching downpours. >> caitlyn says she is finally free. the former bruce jenner debuts a new name and a stunning new look on the cover of vanity fair magazine. >> good morning, it's 6:30 on this tuesday. david and karen standing by with weather and traffic. >> cool an bit damp on the terrace right now with some drizzle flying around much as you take a look at storm tracker six live double scan we have very little additional rain this morning its just drizzle and very light sprinkles or showers and nothing that's going to exacerbate the flooding that we had overnight from last night's heavier rain. be careful driving around. there might still be some backed up storm drains and some water on roads here and there. active flood watches are now off the board, however. cloud cover on satellite an few more sprinkles or showers possible during the day but

everything that's coming looks very spotty and light today. 53 degrees as you head outside in philadelphia. rather cool, not as humid as yesterday despite the drizzle and light showers that we have. so, kind of refreshing honestly. and more tests for the kids can. it's final weeks at most of our area high schools and even some grade schools. 53 degrees on your storm tracker six app right now as you head out the door and then 58 by noon and today does stay cloudy cool and occasionally damp with a passing shower and a high of just 63. we are warming up again in the accuweather 7-day forecast and before the end of the work week the humidity probably starts to creep back into the picture. karen, i'll have more on that coming up in the accuweather seven day. what about the roads? that one looks slow. >> it's a mess, david. the worst of the weather may be over but the problems in traffic are just getting started. we're looking live in conshohocken. look at this mess. we have an accident here this is the blue route northbound past the schuylkill. the accident involving this dump truck off to the side. then a guy flew right over the median here. we've got police emergency workers ambulance all on the scene right now. it's blocking the left

shoulder in both directions. as you can see the crews out there. the roads are damp. visibility is down and we've got messy accidents. this one just in right now with that vehicle in the median northbound blue route is really heavy at this point from the schuylkill to past the schuylkill because of this problem. look at this shot on the roosevelt boulevard. you can really see the fog right there. not so much the vehicles. this is southbound traffic right here headed towards the schuylkill and of course this camera shot is looking down so that's why the fog looks particularly bad right here but you need to be careful as you're headed out hard to see this morning for the morning commute. over in west chester chester county we've got another nasty accident. look that this one. a vehicle ran right off the roadway right through the guardrail into the woods at this point. we've got police all on the scene. this is the ramp from 202 northbound to 322. a new accident just coming in. police out there. we can see some cars getting around off to the side but a vehicle slid right off the roadway, through the median into the woods. roads a little damp and that's not helping things any. we talked about the fact that we had five to 6-inches of rain in parts of south jersey.

the flood waters still haven't receded so we've got flooding out here on route 40 harding highway westbound near tuckahoe road blocking the left lane. in chesilhurst it's out here blocking the right lane right on the white horse pike westbound approaching hendricks street. traffic is getting busy right now, tam. >> thank you karen. right now we are starting with a developing story. police are trying to determine if it was a fire bug out there who torched three cars in camden county overnight. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live in pennsauken. she's got the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam. there are three car fires within blocks of each other all within an hour. they happened in camden and pennsauken. two of the cars have already been towed but we're standing by the third one here on woodland in pennsauken. you can see the tires flat on that mercedes. the fire department and the police were called out to all of these scenes overnight though. in pennsauken the came in around 1:15 this morning, both within minutes. one of them was on woodland avenue by garden. the mercedes was cordoned off. investigators collected

evidence they took stock of the damage after putting out those flames. another fire was about a block away from there on the 3900 block of royal avenue and you could see the windows were broken out of the vehicle shattered glass at the street by that honda. not far from there over at garden and highland in camden, word of a third fire came in. there were scorch marks and pieces of the car on the street after it was towed. no injuries were reported in any of these fires and the motive remains under investigation. police want to hear from you if you have any tips on who could be responsible. we're live in pennsauken, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> thanks, katherine. a stray bullet narrowly missed a sleeping baby in delaware. the shot came from the unit block of bedford drive in edgemoor yesterday evening. it struck a crib where a child was asleep. the child was not hurt. outside the home another bullet wounded a man in his 20's. he's in stable condition. new castle county police are looking for two people who ran from the scene. >> happening today, the u.s.

house transportation committee will hold a hearing. they're looking into the amtrak derailment in philadelphia that killed eight people. that amtrak train was traveling twice the posted speed limit and derailed on a curve. amtrak will not installed ought matter particular speed controls. the ntsb says those controls could have prevented the crash. a day after the derailment a committee voted to reduce amtrak funding by $251 million in the next fiscal year. >> 6:35 now. social media support is pouring in following a first look at vanity fair's latest cover. it presents a gold medal winning olympians new identity as a woman. erin o'hearn is at the big board with the full story. erin. >> reporter: matt in this much anticipated vanity fair article caitlyn jenner says she's finally free and many believe this cover will go down in history as one of the most iconic covers. caitlyn's big reveal create add social media firestorm. she gained 1 million twitter followers in about four hours. we checked just minutes ago and she's now approaching 2 million. now for decades this is how

the world knew bruce jenner. the olympic gold medal athlete then as a father on the hit reality show keeping up with the kardashians. but in this behind scenes video, bruce seems to have vanished. caitlyn has now emerged and those supporting her on social media are among them her chin. in reaction to the cover kim kardashian wrote how beautiful and kendal jenner adding be free now pretty bird. kim actually picked the style team for the photo shoot. this vanity cover comes just two months after jenner's exclusive interview with diane sawyer. >> are you a woman? >> yes for all intents and purposes i am a woman. bruce always had to tell a lie. he was always living that lie. caitlyn doesn't have any secrets. >> caitlyn has seen support if her family friends and even president obama who tweeted it takes courage to share your story. and actress kerry washington

saidcaitlyn love this. so happy for you. we should also note that the author of the vanity fair article is bus bissinger and he's of friday night lights fame from mon all right re. he'll be on "good morning america" this morning. it will be interesting the hear from him tam. >> thank you erin. it's been a day of waiting on a little bit more rain after dealing with the nighttime of flooding and those downpours have caused some floridaing across the region. cars were creeping along a drenched route 322 and sicklerville road in williamstown gloucester county. in thornbury pa the downpours caused poor visibility. in newark delaware the avon underpass looked a little bit more like a stream when the waters suddenly flooded that road. >> seeing some rain out there right now but nothing heavy. >> no its all light and the flood warnings and watches that we had earlier are now over. so other than blocked storm drains here or there, guys, i think we're in much better say. and as you take a look at storm tracker six live double

scan the closeup view showing you everything we have right now across south jersey and the immediate region is highlighted in lighter shades of green so we're looking at just light stuff that's not exacerbating any of the flooding conditions we had earlier. as we take a look outside we are looking at, jumped the gun little bit for you but you'll get those numbers shortly we're looking at cloud cover on sky six in center city and see how it's low obscuring the tops of the center city sky scrapers and occasionally you're seeing some drizzle even where there isn't any active rain on radar. let's get that you number. cool out there this morning, 53 degrees. we started up around 70 yesterday morning so definitely chillier. 51 is your dewpoint. the the air is not all that sticky. winds out of the northeast at 13 miles per hour and despite the fact you have drizzle and light showers around it's kind of refreshing as you step outside. as we take a look at satellite and radar, you can see how there is some drying down to the south and west of us but we are looking at a fair amount of cloud cover and occasionally today there will be another sprinkle or shower coming through. in terms of that rain yesterday we actually set some

records on monday. in philadelphia almost 2-inches, a new daily record for yesterday's date. 3.8-inches in wilmington, atlantic city 2.22-inches and again a lot of that water took a long time to settle and get out of here. the hot spot was south jersey right around route 322 south of hammonton where we had 5-inches of rain up to as much as 6-inches in some spots. 5-inches down towards route 55 about halfway down toward millville and 4-inches over by bridgeton so central south jersey the real heavy areas that got hit yesterday. in terms rain the rest of today, nothing that's going to add to any flooding issues. by noon a couple of light sprinkles and showers around that shouldn't last all that long. by 6 o'clock maybe even some brightening of the skies here or there and just a lingering sprinkle and later tonight between 10 and 11 o'clock when adam joseph and cecily tynan are back on the air we may have another shower or two building in but again nothing all that bad. the other part of today's story is the cloud cover and the cooler temperatures. 56 degrees by 11 o'clock. 62 by 2 o'clock.

your high today is going to be 63 degrees and we'll hit that at about 3 o'clock this afternoon. high temperatures from north to south looks like low 60's or on or about 60 in the lehigh valley. low 60's in the i-95 corridor and down the shore 62's in cape may and in atlantic city. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast 63 degrees is today's high. scattered showers out there, a bit dry most of the time. the big change is the cooler and cloudy conditions. little breezy today too. and then tomorrow a little damp in the morning. otherwise 68 degrees, mainly cloudy with some sunny breaks and then clouds to sun on thursday, a nice afternoon with a high of 69 degrees there. warmer then on friday, a high of 79 degrees a-spotty thunderstorm is possible. although it's not a washout. little bit more sticky there and then by saturday clouds and sun, a high of 80, slight chance of a spotty thunderstorm on saturday but not a washout. hopefully nice for the union at ppl park at night and back into the 70's on sunday and monday just spotty showers here or there. >> okay, thank you david. >> yeah. >> it is 6:40. up next more brand new stories

>> ♪♪ >> 6:43. not exactly a bright and sunny day in center city philadelphia. our temple camera pointed at the sky scrapers downtown show a cloudy scene this morning. >> let's head on over to karen rogers get the latest on what's going on there and with your traffic. good morning. >> we have the accidents just keep coming in. we've got low visibility with the fog out there, the roads are wet and you can see the problem. so, right now we're looking in conshohocken. this is the blue route northbound just past the schuylkill. an accident involving this dump truck and a vehicle that ran right off the roadway into the median. we've got the left lane blocked in either direction. we've got police and emergency workers all on the scene creating a jam-up on the blue route northbound from the schuylkill to past the schuylkill much we have fire, ambulance, fire trucks all on the scene so this dump truck offer to the shoulder. vehicle ran right through the guardrail so a nasty accident there in conshohocken. electrical fire on limekiln pack at babylon road. fire police on hand directing

traffic at the scene there. another accident that we've watched its kind of hard to see off to the side at this point here. this is in west chester chester county. right on the ramp from 202 northbound to 322. it's an accident involving a vehicle just slid right off-road way. emergency workers on the scene. the roads are damp and it doesn't take much. accidents of people smashing right through the guardrail. i was checking the waze app here and found a lost people talking about complete stand still in traffic on 295 southbound and here's why. we've got an accident at 168 and one southbound approaching 42. so, two new accidents coming in to us in bellmawr camden county. and the flooding has been a real problem especially in south jersey. route 40 harding highway westbound near tuckahoe road, so flooding still causing a problem there and with the rainfall totals with these radar estimates we can see that south jersey is the real bull's-eye. we've got between four to 6-inches of rain yesterday. so you're still dealing with the runoff this morning and causing problems out there. in addition to that, we have the fog.

we're looking at 4-mile visibility at philadelphia international airport. 1.7 in beach haven, 1.3 in atlantic city airport. 2-mile visibility in reading. so it's wet foggy and we've got problems on the roads this morning, tam. >> okay, thank you karen. a toddler survived this brush with death in brooklyn. we've paused the video here before the moment of impact. an out of control car jump as curb knocks a small tree onto a child and then ran over the boy. a crowd of people surrounded firefighters who pulled the child from in between the tires of the car. amazingly the boy walked away with only minor injuries. so far the driver does not face charges and it's still not clear why this person lost control of the car. and take a look at this new video of tragedy in the skies over italy a pilot was killed when two single seat stunt planes collided. the other man was rescued. this all happened along the adriatic coast on sunday. the two plains plummeted toward the water as beachgoers watched. the cause of the collision is still under investigation. >> secretary of state john

kerry has returned to the u.s. he is in boston to have surgery this week. this is new video of kerry's arrival last night. kerry broke his leg in a biking accident in switzerland. he was first treated in geneva and has been admitted to massachusetts general hospital. u.s. officials insist kerry will continue nuclear talks with iran. the deadline for a deal is june 30th. >> 6:47 now. we'll check in with "gma" for a live look at what's ahead. also a truck driver gets a sinking feeling during an epic fail on the dock. david. >> i'm arming the kids with jackets because it is cooler today. we're keeping umbrellas handy although any rain today is going to be on the light side and nothing that's going to produce any new flooding. we'll be back with your area temperatures and your day planner forecast for those of you thinking about running errands today. that's coming up next.

over as we have just light sprinkles and showers a-little drizzle where you don't see the green but not much happening on storm tracker this morning. if there are any backed up storm drains, you may still be runing into ponding and puddling on roadways. be careful of that. 52 in pottstown, 49 in quakertown. you'll need a jacket this morning but compared to more humid conditions in the morning in the 70's like we've had recently, i don't know, this feels sort of comfortable to me as i step outside on the terrace. mid-50's in the heart of south jersey, up are 50's down the shore. 58 in dover, 57 at this hour in smyrna and if your out running errands there really isn't any better time of the day to do it. it's going to be cloudy cool and at times damp with passing sprinkles and showers. your high today 63 degrees. that's all we'll see matt. >> thank you david. the california driver found himself in deep water here. the man was together a boat in santa barbara over the weekend when his truck started sinking into the harbor. he escaped just in the nick of time. >> man. pop star iggy azalea is

>> ♪♪ >> 6:55 and we have breaking news. let's take a live look at philadelphia international airport. you can see activity going on there on the runway along with an airbus there on the left. now, this airbus just landed at the airport and for some reason authorities want to take a closer look at what's going on there. there were 93 people on board. they have gotten off the plane safely. there are canine units headed to that airplane. as you see plenty of authorities there as well. something we're going to monitor but at this point all we know is police want to take a closer look at this airbus 321 at philadelphia international airport. >> we've got more breaking news. let's take a look at our traffic cameras. we have a big accident on the schuylkill expressway. this is eastbound approaching south street. they had been blocking all lanes and westbound we've got one lane blocked. just one of many accidents that just keeps coming in. this one on the schuylkill expressway had been blocking all lanes, a big jam-up there dave. >> couple sprinkles and showers around this morning. it's cloudy and cooler today
