orange no severe weather or flash flooding but a steady moderate rain over philadelphia right now the shades of green avenue now and then you get a pocket of yellow and that is the heavy downpours moving to the north and east and we'll see waves of showers continuing not only overnight but through the day tomorrow and likely on thursday. what a difference though, may the entire month philadelphia reporting less than an 1.25 inch of rain, so far the first two days of june we have received more than 2 inches of rain and some areas getting a lot more than that. i want to show you the rainfall totals 1 to 2 inches of rain, what is a good soaking, but south of philadelphia, we got hit here hard, parts of newcastle and kent county reporting 2 to 4 inches of rain and northwest atlantic county, 6

elsewhere. united airways 648 was diverted after it land this morning, it was surrounding by police and money vehicles. >> at the operation center in washington, d.c., received a phone threat stating there was an explosive device on the plane, the 93 passengers and crew were escorted off the plane, the carry-on bags and the rest of the luggage was removed from the plane and set on the tarmac. >> the police bomb squad examined the airplane as well as k-9 dogs from the airport police unit and there was nothing dangerous on the plane. >> it turned out to be a hoax but the passengers and police were not laughing emergency personnel were tied up for an hour and a half before the all clear passengers were loaded on buss to get them to the terminal and on their way. >> it's a safety precaution, i

global governor body of soccer. karen travers has more. >> reporter: it was quite a surprise over the weekend, sepp blatter was defiant while taking questions about the fifa scandal, he was not indicted but he is being investigated by the fbi and u.s. prosecutors and there may be more shoes to drop. a bombshell announcement has rocked international soccer. >> i put at disposal my function. >> in an arranged press conference beleaguered president blatter says today he is stepping down. >> the members of fifa have given me the new mand date and reelected me president this does not seem to be supported by everybody in the world of football.

it is 4:30 and "action news" continues with more on the controversy over a father, and a toddler in a truck. what is the only thing worse than getting stopped in a stop. what the teen said when the police officers showed up. how a little boy who was run over by an out of control car managed to escape with just a few scratches, but we'll begin at 4:30 in chester county where a woman abused her position to steal from a prominent photographer. this is the face made famous by steve mccurry it was seen across the globe in national geographic it was one print stole ep by a trusted employee of mccurry's studio.

we turn to vernon odom live now with the former sales manager was arrested today. >> reporter: brian the d.a. says that the crime was pure greed. that led an employee to rip off her employer to comment from brie distefano, she was an employee of renowned photographer, steve mccurry selling signed presents and books on the black market to line her pockets. mccurry a delaware native is known for the photo, afghan girl, first appearing on the cover of national geographic. >> he takes enormous risks when going to places like afghanistan

car, and has no recollection of being attacked or shot. this west philadelphia street was the scene of a violence robbery at 11:00 this morning, the victim tells police that the suspect hit him in the back of the head with a gun walking down north 57th street the gunman stole a bag containing $32,000, and the suspect is described as a thin, black male with two arabic tattoos under each eye and a diamond shaped tattoo under his eyebrow. if you have information call philadelphia police. police are trying to figure out who torched three cars overnight and why they did it. the first car was set ablaze on the 3900 block of royal avenue at 1:15 and then six minutes later a mercedes benz was

a 4-year-old boy is a live and well today thanks to a series of small miracles and incredibly good people, before we show you this video we should tell you the child is okay. the boy was walking through his brooklyn neighborhood when the out is of control car suddenly jumped the curb and ran right over him incredibly the car hit a small tree and landed on top of the child it shielded him and kept him from going under the tires. people came over and lifted the car off the child. >> i grabbed his head and moved the child out until the ambulance arrived. >> he only had a couple of cuts and bruises and was released the same day, no word if that driver is facing charges. here at the big board

lehigh valley and the poconos, arriving on that front we see a few spotty showers and fog. and it clouds up with a shower or two and temperatures holding in the mid-60s, the exclusive accuweather forecast, tomorrow it's cool with a few spotty showers mainly south of philadelphia north of philadelphia, you'll see some peeks of sunshine the high is 66 degrees so 10 degrees warmer than today. that is still on the cool side we cloud up and a cool day again with occasional showers and finally on friday we brighten up partly sunny skies and warmer 77 degrees with the possibility of a few late day thunderstorms on saturday the warmer of the two days this weekend. 82 degrees, a cold front will bring us a possible of a few more showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and behind that system on sunday we dry out and we cool off a little bit partly sunny and 56 degrees, on monday
