philadelphia neighborhood and demanding that the police help them from as sworn to you. calling for protection from four people causing real trouble. and those four people are women. it is tuesday night and the big story on "action news" tonight is an impassioned demonstration tonight of neighborhood concern. "action news" reporter dann cuellar is live at philadelphia police headquarters. what are the details on this? officials say an internal affairs investigation into why the third district officers failed to investigate racial tensions said to be brewing in a south philadelphia neighborhood. the outrage spurred a large rally tonight despite the rain. >> we will no longer allow you to terrorize our neighborhood. >> 150 to 200 people were on the middle of 4th and wolf to protest a rash of what they claim are racial attacks at the hands of four black women who live nearby. >> these females have been

terrorizing the neighborhood. they robbed attacked and beat others in the neighborhood. >> this man who did not want to be identified say he and his 10-year-old son were victims. >> attacked on our doorstep for what reason i still don't know. >> and i see four women attacking a white man. >> another woman who also did not want to be identified say the women attacked her inside of her home calling her racial names when she tried to intervene. >> the next thing i know white [beep] we are go to [beep] you up. and i shut my door saying i don't even know yous and they were spitting on my face beating me. >> and they claimed the officers from the district did not take a report or make an arrest. and a report was taken after others got involved and now internal investigation. >> there were several calls to 911 that day. we are reviewing the calls and it is part of the record for the internal investigation.

400 block of bickley place where another multiple-alarm fire erupted tonight. the third in five days on this block. firefighters got the call just after 10:00 p.m. immediately sounded a second alarm and the blaze was brought under control at 10:55, just 15 minutes ago. yesterday, five houses were attacked by fire on this block, leaving 19 people homeless. and friday night another fire destroyed a vacant home again on this same block. so far there are no report of injuries but investigators will be looking for a link among all of these blazes. a bomb threat on a us airways flight from san diego unfounded.

country's deadliest maritime accident in decades. a river cruiseship with 456 people onboard capsized last night in the river and 15 people have been rescued, 13 bodies have been recovered, and the rest are still trapped on the ship. among the 15 survivors, the captain and the chief engineer. they have been handed over to police. members of an antiterrorism task force shot and killed a man in boston. the 26-year-old was under 24-hour scrutiny and members of the task force approached him as he emerged from a pharmacy. they wanted to ask him a question and they say he lunged at them with a large military-style knife. and he was shot twice and declared dead at the hospital. still unknown why he was under surveillance. president barack obama received legislation from the house and senate reviving the patriot act but myinus the

inches of rain and coming with cool air today. the high 58 degrees. the coolest high temperature for the date since 1946 when the high was only 56 degrees. and now temperatures are stuck in the mid 50s. allentown 56 the same in philadelphia. millville 55. trenton 54. and wilmington 56 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing a lot of clouds. if you look though near washington, d.c. we have a break in the action. what will happen high pressure will try to nudge down from the north tomorrow. what you get really depends on where you are. this dry air will only make it so far to the south. so the best place to be is north of philadelphia. like allentown tomorrow machine warmer with breaks of sunshine. high of 70 degrees. not bad. however, if you are at the shore, quite a difference. plenty of clouds. a lot of people are taking a week's vacation at the beach.
