wall-to-wall sunshine, temperatures struggling to get into the upper 70s and next week looks good, but it does warm up in the 7 day forecast. a couple of 90 is possible. i'm have the details when i see you in before ten minutes. eva? >> the big story on "action news" is the final farewell to beau biden. funeral service will be held in wilmington, delaware for the beloved son of vice president joe biden. president obama will deliver the eulogy for the former attorney general of delaware. the action cam is live outside saint anthony of padua catholic church in wilmington where a funeral mass will be held for beau biden. dignitaries plus the obama family and hillary clinton and former president clinton will will be there. his former commander will present the legion of merit to beau biden during the service.

a military honor guard carried the casket into the church yesterday, hundreds lined the streets to pay respects to the iraq war vet. >> i don't think anybody could have done a better job. >> sweet polite, kind, loving, smart, unaassuming all the -- unassuming, all the things you want your kid to be. >> it's the second time joe biden had to bury a child. he lost his infant daughter and wife in a car crash in 1972. beau and his younger brother were hurt in the crash. you can watch the entirely funeral service online at 10:30. there's a photo gallery of beau biden's life and career it's all

there at 6abc.com. a crash on i-95 killed a person, a vehicle smashed through a guardrail and went down an embankment. this all happened around 1:30 a.m. on the southbound side near tinicum township. police blocked off the crash scene, but it's all clear now. in allentown two young girls are hospitalized after they both fell from a 4th story window. it happened on the 700 block of turner street last night. a woman walking her dog said she saw the girls fall with a window screen on the walk. the girls ages 5 and three are in serious condition at lehigh valley hospital. there's a 5,000-dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of a berlin township man. 45-year-old michael eitel is wanted for the murder of his former girlfriend carole browne. police were called to the home on wednesday night. police found her in the driveway

with mullable stab wounds. the search fins for the suspect involved in the attempted armed robbery of a philadelphia pizza pizza shop whose partner in crime allegedly opened fire on a off duty officer the officer returned fire and killed the suspect. dann cuellar explains the suspect was using a gun loaded with blanks. >> reporter: it all happened here before 11:30 thursday night at the rising sun pizza parlor. an off off-duty philadelphia detective was placing an order when two men walked in and put a gun to the detective's head and took the $20 the detective was holding in his hand and ordered him to lie on the floor. it was then that the detective drew his weapon and identified himself as police. >> and then there was a gun battle. the perpetrator fired two shots at the detective and the detective returned fire.

>> reporter: the detective shot toward the glass and the gunmen fled. the gunmen, identified as andrew ellerbe dropped his weapon and died outside. >> two shots were fired at by the suspect at pointblank range. the officer is lucky he was not shot and killed. >> reporter: the gun was loaded with blanks not bullets something that was unknown when the detective was shot. >> he did what he had to do. unfortunately somebody died, but he defended his life and the lives of others. >> reporter: meanwhile residents think it's odd that anyone would target the pizza parallel -- parlor since it's known as a popular spot for police. the probe is being handled by homicide and the internal

reviews bureau. the detective has been placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation. at police headquarters, i'm dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> it's been two years since the deadly building collapse at 22nd and market in center city philadelphia. 6 people dialed -- died and 14 others injured in the tragedy. family and the victims heard about the latest plans of memorial park. it will include 6 windows one for each of those killed. >> it will add beauty and hope for a place that's associated with horror, a sad and shameful day for all of philadelphia. nancy daughter was one of the victims. meanwhile a survivor met

the man who saved her life that day. >> we've met before, but i don't know if you remember me. >> i don't remember. >> i was the fireman who found you. >> thank you. >> you're welcome. >> reporter: the woman does not remember fire chief john o'neill, but grateful he saved her life. she was trapped for 13 hours she is ukrainian and speaks very little english and is a double amputee and remains in rehab. she said her life is difficult at times but thankful she can enjoy her kids and granddaughter. an amtrak train slammed into a tractor-trailer at a crossing outside of chicago. the collision knocked over the trailer of the truck and spilled its contents. none of the cars of the train left the tracks. nobody was seriously hurt. the train was heading from san antonio to chicago. the passengers were put on buses

to finish their trip. pope francis is in boss bosnia for a day long visit 100,000 people are expected to greet him. he will spend the day to encourage dwindling number of catholics to forge a peaceful future with bosnia's muslim and orthodox christians. the franklin institute will host an exhibit during the pope's visit to philadelphia this september. vatican splendor will feature treasures from the vatican. there will be items never before seen by the public. it opens september 19 before the pope arrives for the world meeting of families. still ahead on "action news" saturday morning how one man is finding the inspiration to deal with his parkinsons disease through the beauty of

a little bit of patchy fog wilmington, # -- 3 miles per hour. atlantic city if you're traveling eastbound on the atlantic city expressway, hammonton from that point east you're socked in pretty good. beach haven 3 miles. we expect that to lift and burn off in the next hour or so. as the cold front slides through we'll push the fog and low level cloudiness out to sea. on the water evaporate image you can see where the dry air is. western pennsylvania and western portions of upstate new york. here's the front in the process of pushing through that's this morning's weather. that's this afternoon's weather him we'll see again clearing conditions clouds breaking for sunshine. in between the two that process looks like we'll squeeze out a couple of showers as the front slides from north to south. midday, showers popping up, later this afternoon they are farther to the south. phillies game starts at

of philadelphia, that's the front in the process of pushing through, drier conditions north and west. and, again there's the lightest chance of showers, phillies taking on the giants later this afternoon. 3:05 start time, citizens bank park, clouds and sun, should be nice 78 degrees by 3:00 p.m. by the 9th inning, 78 degrees, for the most part the game should be dry future tracker shows a couple of showers in and around area by 3:00 p.m. hopefully most of it pushes through and pulls through south jersey and delaware he by that time. we're looking at clear conditions this evening, and 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning we'll have sunny skies. this evening union playing they are home, ppl park, sun arena passing clouds, 75 degrees by 7:00 p.m. 90th minute 71. low humidity levels should be comfortable and enjoyable for that game.

an 8 member military honor guard carried the casket into the church. outside hundreds gathered and waited in line to pay their respects to a man who dedicated much of his life to the first state. >> that speaks volume of the family and beau biden himself that people are waiting to pay their respects. >> i think it's a great family. they are personable. >> reporter: political heavyweights made their way to mourn with vice president joe bide ena his wife jill -- biden and his wife jill. it was an another untimely death for the nation's second in command. his wife and 1-year-old daughter died in a tragic car accident in 1972 after he was elected to the senate. now he lost his beloved son

police escorted the body of walter dewitt to givnish funeral home in northeast philadelphia. his patrol car was involved in a crash in 1984. he died after complications from surgery for injuries from that accident. he was 55. "action news" was in chester, delaware county where family and friends held a vigil for 24-year-old sherman byrd who died wednesday night after his bike collided with the police cruiser at keystone road and west 13th street. police were chasing him because he matched the description of a suspect in an arm robbery. officers thought he had a gun. his family want answer. the da is investigating. three people were injured in overnight accident after crashing into a support column for the septa el. they were in a work van that hit the column on the 4300 block of frankford avenue.

one of the people in the van is hospitalized in critical condition. so far no word on what caused the driver to lose control. also new this morning police in delaware have made a major marijuana bust. police say they found five pounds of marijuana after executing a search warrant in the units block of elsmere boulevard in elsmere yesterday. now when officers searched the home they found several grams of marijuana along with the drug paraphernalia. then they want outside. >> we discovered the defendant had a car parked outside we got a search warrant for the car we discovered there were five pounds of marijuana located in the truck. >> the drugs have a street value of $5,000. officers took a person into custody on possession charges. tips from infarm -- informants led to the bust. two teenagers were charged as adults in connection with

several armed robberies harden and anthony were arrested thursday. harden has been linked to five incidents, anthony is charged in two robberies. the philadelphia mother accused of abandoning her disabled son in cobbs creek park is competent to stand trial. but the psychiatrist who made that determination says 41-year-old parler does need mental health treatment. her 21-year-old quadriplegic son spent five days in the woods with no food or water. she left town to see her boyfriend in maryland. a preliminary hearing is scheduled for august. a fan suffered life threatening injuries after being hit by a broken bat in fenway park. she was bleeding from her head. she was carried off on a stretcher in the second inning. president obama flies to germany for the g-7 gathering. the fighting in ukraine is

expected to be on the agenda. yesterday the president called the ukrainian president pour poroshenko. ukrainian forces are clashing with rushacked separatists. russia was suspended from the g-7 last year. 8 out of the ten mill tabts charged in the attack -- militants charged in the attack of malala. it was reported they were sentenced to life in prison. the prosecutor claims the reporters misquoted him at the time. today marks the 71st anniversary of d-day. allied forces stormed the beaches of normandy on this day in 1944.

to 4 feet. not looking like a nice beach day, you'll see sunshine later this afternoon. 66 degrees back in philadelphia. dewpoint, 62. winds out of the west/southwest at 3 miles per hour. the pressure is falling. allentown, 64. reading, 67. millville, 63 and dover coming in at 65 degrees this hour. atlantic county, cape may and ocean county. a couple of showers pushing toward the southeast getting closer and closer to the shorepoints. we go over to double scan live and set it in motion, again, you can see it's heading to the off southeast. moving quickly 20 to 25 miles per hour. should be over lbi over the next half-hour 25 minutes once that pulls through there's the potential of more showers with the actual front i itself. once that swings through we'll have clouds and sunshine later on and nicer afternoon.

clouds across northern p-a and western upstate new york. there's a gradual increase in sunshine this afternoon. a couple of showers developing with the passage of the front should be that much of a big deal. if you get underneath a shower it lasts 20 minutes or so. it moves along on its way. phillies game starting at at that point we're clear. mainly sunny conditions north of the pennsylvania turnpike, dealing with cloud cover scattered showers across south jersey and delaware at that point. and then everybody is in clear. that leads to clear skies tonight and sunny conditions tomorrow. sunday should be wall-to-wall blue skies start to finish. the rainfall we saw earlier this week 4 5 6 inches of rain. it's done a number on the drought. we have moderate conditions across the western suburbs and the lehigh valley and the poconos. everybody else else has been
