sunday will play out. very relaxing out there today. sunshine and passing high clouds that's about it. 78 degrees is the forecasted high. which is two degrees below average for this time of year. lunchtime, 74. 3:00 p.m., 77. 6:00 p.m., 76 degrees, so, again, picture perfect out there today. things will change tomorrow after 4:00, 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon, strong thunderstorms roll back in, heavy drenching downpours we're heating up by week's end close to 90 degrees, i'll have the details in just a little bit. >> the big story on "action news" is sunday morning, the search for a driver who hit a high school football and kept on going, the south jersey teenager is hospitalized in critical condition. the action cam was at the scene early this morning at hook road and lee avenue in pennsville. the 17-year-old boy was heading home from his girl friend's house on the skate board when he was struck. pennsville police say they found

key evidence scattered along the road. >> now we have a possible description of the vehicle being an an with serious front end damage at this point right now. >> reporter: the teen a pennsville high school player in critical condition in delaware with head injuries and other injuries. if you spot an alantra with front end damage pennsville want you to give them a call. police in philadelphia are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run it happened on the 3100 block of ridge avenue in strawberry mansion. the vehicle was traveling westbound on girard avenue from ridge. the man was rushed to hanheman hospital. the search is on for a gunman who tried to rob an

off-duty police officer overnight forcing him to fire his own gun several times. it happened in the city's brewy town section. police say the officer and his girlfriend were approached by a mantua rifle who tried to rob the couple about 1:45 a.m. the officer fired his weapon five times at the mann, then ran off. the off-duty officer and his girlfriend were not hurt. police have recovered a rifle from the scene. in north philadelphia, police are searching for a gunman who tried to rob a man of his jewelry overnight. a 57-year-old man was shot in the thigh when he was attacked as he arrived home at the intersection of cornwall in north philadelphia. the two struggled over the necklace the would-be robber pulled out the gun and fired. the suspect ran off. the victim was rushed to the hospital in stable condition with a gunshot to the thigh. a street performer from philadelphia who became a fan

favorite on a nationally televised singing competition has died. anthony riley left the show earlier this year to deal with substance abuse issues. he was found dead inside a home on center city. friends say he took his own life. he sang outside reading terminal and penns landing and independence hall. in allentown a vigil a was held for a young girl who died after falling from a 4th floor window. flowers and stuffed animals were left at the scene where 3-year-old and her 5-year-old sister fell. they were rushed to the hospital where the 3-year-old died several hours later. her sister is in critical condition. the case has been ruled an accident. authorities in camden county found the body of a man they say murdered his ex-girlfriend. he hanged himself at the home of another ex-girlfriend. chad perdelli has more. >> reporter: the outside of carole browne's home is adorn

with birthday balloons she would have been 40 years old. there are no cheers, a closer look at the driveway and blood stains the concrete. her ex-boyfriend ambushed and stabbed her inside -- outside the home. he would be on the lam for three days when he hung himself. friends remember her as a gentle soul. >> she was a wonderful girl. very loving. >> reporter: three years ago her husband died in a motor ikele crash. friends say after his death,ed friend michael eitel was there for her. it turned romantic and eventually deadly according to police. michael eitel has a criminal record including a kidnapping arrest. her co-workers say he began stalking her after the break up and she got a restraining order but it didn't protect her. >> i was scared for her all the time she was having the problem

haddonfield -- gathered in haddonfield township to greet a soldier who returned from the middle east. he had lots of cheering and clapping for private yesterday. he graduated from garfield park academy and enlisted in the national guard in 201. since then he earned his share of military honors. the freeholders named the day in honor of the private first class. many bicyclists are hitting the wall. racers from 36 countries are taking part in the international cycling classics. riders are tearing through the streets of roxborough, lemon hill and east falls and manayunk and they have to conquer the deep inclined known asle wall. it was a thrilling finish to the belmont stakes in new york this weekend.

atlantic city, 62 same thing with sea isle city. the winds out of the east all day expect to pick up the sea breeze. 49 in the poconos. philadelphia closing in on 70. satellite and radar nothing going on it's quiet across the mid atlantic states that will be the trend through the first part of tomorrow afternoon. we'll zoom m -- into this right here, complex of showers and storms barreling through the high plain states pushing into the great lakes. milwaukee, chicago about to get slammed. this will produce severe weather up and down the northern tier states this afternoon. that area shifts. this is the area highlighted. it includes some of the major cities in the county. chicago, saint louis cincinnati detroit wichita and heartland of the nation states. all that is to shift east as we get into monday. philadelphia baltimore washington, d.c. under the gun for severe weather later on. it streams back through kentucky and the deep south. it's a large area of the county

that will pick up severe weather over the next few days. future tracker 6 whatever you have planned outdoors it's a perfect day don't forget the sunscreen. lots of sunshine. tomorrow morning sun a few clouds mixed in that's about it. tomorrow afternoon late in the day, after 5:00 p.m. in the evening hours well get the pop-up showers and storms. note the red colors, the pinkish shades represent drenching downpours, like what we saw this past monday. it continues monday night into tuesday morning. when all is said and done some areas could see 3 inches of rain. it depends on where the storms set up. you get underneath a storm expect a good soaking. right now the idea is for the northern portions of the area to pick up the heavy rains and the southern portions to miss out the complete opposite of what happened this past must not. poconos raceway mostly sunny very refreshing, very enjoyable. 67 degrees to 68, 69 that's the forecasted high.

>> "healthcheck" this morning a new study links the use ever common pain killers and sedatives to the increased risk of committing murder. researchers in finland looked at data of men and women convicted of homicide. they looked at the their use of sedatives and ant depressdepressants and pain killers.

the only partly of the country that's seeing any weather is the western great lakes states. this will pull through late in the day tomorrow, this will swing across the mid atlantic states just like that. severe weather up and down the i-95 corridor into new england. the weather coming out of the gulf states states, that will pull into the great lakes and the ohio valley and the mid atlantic. everybody east of the mississippi river will feel very summer-like. this is comfortable stuff across the mid atlantic. 60s and 70s just to the west we're already showing 80 degrees, that's the warm front right there stretching like this. this will be pulling east over the next 24 to 48 hours. everybody is quiet the exception being chicago flying into midway and o'hare. seeing major delays because of

who -- convicted murderers who escape from a maximum security prison in new york state. >> reporter: this morning an all-out manhunt for two killers on the loose. u.s. marshals, the fbi along with hundreds of state and local officers setting up a road block searching with k-9s and helicopters going door to door. >> be on the look out for two escapees. >> reporter: richard matt convicted of kidnapping and beating a man to death and dismembering. and david sweat behind bars for killing a sheriff's deputy shooting him 28 times. >> they are dangerous and we want to make sure they don't inflict anymore pain or anymore harm. >> reporter: the men last seen at bedtime discovered missing at

so far no word on suspects or motives in the shooting. bullet casings littered the entrance of wharton square park overnight. the happened before 10:00 p.m. at 24th and reid streets. a 24-year-old man was shot several times. he was rushed to penn presbyterian hospital for treatment. there were no arrests in the case. >> the man hunt for a teenage couple referred to as a manner day bonnie and clyde is over. the two teens were arrested after a police pursuit in western pennsylvania. the 1r50 andy 16-year-old -- the 15-year-old and 16-year-old were armed before they crashed a stolen vehicle and tried to make a run for it before they were caught. they had a 6 day crime spree across three states. they are being investigated for crimes that include armed robbery and car theft and fleeing from police. a woman hit by a shattered

431 people died when the eastern star overturned last week. 11 people are missing. crews pulled the badly damaged ship out of the river on friday. authorities tribute the overturning to sudden severe winds which has placed the captain and his first engineer in police custody. president obama is in the german alps for the government-7 summit. he started his visit by celebrating his partnership with the german county. the president said the relationship between germany and the u.s. is proof that conflicts can end and great progress is possible. the seven leaders plan to discuss their concerns over the extremism in europe and the russian ukraine crisis. an antiprovety group has --
