were calmed into help. looks like firefighter have the upper hand as we look live from chopper 6 from the fire scene in camden. a woman was shot in the face inside a philadelphia home and she is hospitalized in very bad shape. katherine scott is live at the shooting scene in hunting park section with more on the victim and the search for the shooter. katherine. >> reporter: matt, police are on the scene here they are conducting interviews and gathering evidence police are at the hospital where the 22-year-old woman remains in critical condition. you can see this block is closed off here right outside the home where this happened. it happened on the 4100 block of north franklin street around 4:00 a.m. police say the woman opened the front door and shot in the face at pointblank range. >> fortunately there it was a small caliber round not to make light of it, but we hope she can pull through, she was transported by police to temple hospital where

she is being treated now. >> reporter: and so she remains at the hospital, police are stationed there, as well. the motive is under investigation, you can see that police are on this block again they are conducting interviews and gathering evidence at this hour. they are looking to two men who fled the scene on franklin toward hunting park after. they have not released the descriptions of the suspects but they are looking for you if you have any tips. they are looking for surveillance footage that can help in the investigation. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> it is now 60:00 # -- 6:04 charges are pending after a drunk driver hit and killed a teenager in hunting park around 7:00 p.m. witnesses told police the 28-year-old driver ran a stop sign heading adelso matos who was on his bike. his friends saw this happen. >> he saw it was coming when he

region. as for precipitation, i don't think we'll see anything this morning once we get rid of the showers up around allentown and reading. noon, mix of sun and clouds, and then weapon get later into the afternoon around -- and then we get later into the afternoon around 5:00 p.m. we get the redevelopment of showers and farther to the west in the face of an approaching cold front. drenching downpours and lightning producing thunderstorms. they will pop into the i-95 corridor perhaps as soon as 7 or 7:30 they continue to push to the shore by 11:00. again we're looking at drenching downpours and gusty winds. what are the threats frequent lightning where we hit, that would be number one. downpours a factor i could see localized flooding in areas where heavy downpours do pop up. there's a chance of severe weather with strong gusty damaging winds.

>> welcome back chopper 6 is over breaking news coming from west philadelphia. take a look at this white car that's in a wooded air 64th and race streets. about 5:30 neighbors said they heard an explosion. when fire cruise got to the scene they found the car engulfed in flames. it's scorched and has couple of car doors open. police and fire crews say this fire seems suspicious. no reports of injuries, but we're keeping an eye on this, we'll let you know when they get more details in. >> blanco has been downgraded to a tropical storm as it gets closer to mexico.

heavy rains and high winds are going to lash the coastal areas tonight. mexico put thousands of troops on ablert and issued maritime warnings. a category three storm made a direct hit on the region in september last year. >> a 10-year-old boy is recovering after being bitten by a shark in florida. >> it is one of the worst ones we've seen out here in recent years. >> reporter: this is the 9th recorded shark attack this year. experts say the global shark population is up 42% over the last two years. >> david murphy is tracking the possibility of storms. >> vandal at a construction site caused quite a commotion on a center city center city street. the new video from the overnight is next.
