> break be right now on "action news," the search is on for the shooter who fired into a woman at face in hunting park. >> prison break an intense manhunt is underway for these men who pulled off a movie star escape from a maximum security jail near canada. >> new new jersey state police suit up in riot gear when a rowdy crowd tries to break into a music venue. >> let's go outside to david murphy. >> reporter: good morning, storm tracker 6 live double scan up in allentown and east ton and reading we have a couple of early morning showers popping through. we're on the look out for that stuff by toronto and pittsburgh. later this evening we'll expect drenching thunderstorms out of that. there's the possibility of severe storms across the region, as well. this is a fairly low risk.

but i would be careful of any storms that formulator today and this evening, because of the potential for not only the strong wind, but hail up to one inch or more in a couple of these storms. there's a slight risk for an isolated tornado the chances are small that we see some of this but you get the idea, the western and northwestern half of the region the best chance of the storms forming. 65 degrees right now comfortable across philadelphia and allentown, 62 in wilmington, 62 in sea isle city. as we roll through the day it gets warm and gradually will get humid as we head through the afternoon. noon 80 degrees, 3:00 p.m. 84. high today of 85 around 4:00 p.m. and holding on to the 80s around 6:00 p.m. it's around 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. the northern suburbs could see the strong storms and the rest of us later on this evening. karen i'll track the storms with

future tracker in a couple of minutes. we have an accident coming in at tall minute son township -- talliminson township at green lane there's an accident. we have a down pole in bucks county makefield road. slower speeds 1 miles per hour an hour schuylkill expressway, 40 miles per hour eastbound around the curve. i-95 jammed in the usual spots near girard, 15 miles per hour 17 near cottman. franklin street is blocked between lycombing and hunting park avenue. i warned you that the

tacony-palmyra was going up it is northbound ship it will affect the burlington bristol bridge in about 25 minutes. >> this is breaking right now a woman answered a knock at the door in the early morning hours in hunting park only to be met by somebody who fired at her in the face. katherine scott is live at the scene on the 4100 block of north franklin street. good morning katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam i did speak with a friend of the victim who told me the victim as is conscious and speaking at the hospital and expected to be okay. she is 22 years old and mother and very lucky to be alive after what happened this morning. police have reopened this block to traffic it has been closed for police investigation. it happened on the 4100 block of north franklin street in hunting park around 4:00 a.m. there were at least three people inside the house at the time of the shooting including the victim. one of the people fled out the

belt room window to the rooftop when he heard the commotion. police say the victim opened her front door and shot in the face at pointblank range. >> fortunately it was a small caliber round not to make light of it, but we hope that she can pull through, she was transported by the police to temple hospital where she is being treated now. >> again we're being told she is conscious and talking a friend told us not too long ago she was taken to the hospital in critical condition. police are searching for two men who fled the scene toward hunting park avenue. so far they have not released a description of the suspect. there's no word if there is any surveillance footage that could help in the investigation. police want to hear from you if you have he any tips. >> a lot of commotion at the scene. >> chopper 6 is live over more breaking news. police are trying to figure out how a burned out car ended up in a wooded area in west

philadelphia. this is where they found it near 64th and rails streets. neighbors say they heard an explosion and saw fire coming from the woods. the car is a burnt out shell part of a mystery detective's are trying to solve. >> this is breaking right now firefighters are on top of homes in camden battling a two-alarm blaze. chopper 6 is over langdon avenue. those flames broke out at 5:30. fire crews arrived and found two homes on fire. it was hot enough they called in extra help from gloucester city and collingswood. police are in police custody after an alleged break in at a center city construction site. she climbed scaffolding and broke a window of the building. the intersection of broad and arch was shut down for hours. there was glass on the roadway. it's not clear if the suspects were throwing things from the building or if that broken window shattered on to the road.

police brought in the k-9 officers an captured the suspects on the 18th floor of the building. nobody was hurt. the driver accused of striking and killing a teenager in philadelphia's hunting park section is expected to be charged with dui and homicide by vehicle. friends say adelso matos was riding his bike home from are a park. science witnesses -- witnesses say the driver ran a stop sign and hit the teen. the 28-year-old driver remained at the scene. someone at the scene tried to administer cpr but was not enough to save him. many students at pennsville memorial high school in salem county will be wearing blue and gold in support of a classmate who was injured in a hit and run. kyle pszenny was skating from work to his girlfriend's house yesterday morning. a driver struck him and kept going. he suffered serious head injuries and multiple fractures

someone inside and in plar particular outside the prison. >> the pair thumbed their noses at authorities in a note that says have a nice day. this is the first prison break at a facility. richard matt escaped from another jail once before in 1986. >> you're tracking showers for folks out there. >> reporter: yeah, storm tracker 6 live double scan is showing most of the area is dry, as we go in closures to the northern suburbs, you can see there's shower activity up around allentown, easton and bethlehem. reading picking up a shower, looks like over the next hour or so, most of this will be off toward the northeast. as we look outside across the region we have sunshine mixing with clouds. it's actually fairly comfortable out there, kind of the continuation of the nice pattern

we had over the weekend. 65 in allentown, 62 in trenton and wilmington and 62 along the shore. future tracker 6 handling the rest of the day between now and noon, a mixture of sun and clouds. after 5:00 p.m. in the northern and western suburbs places like the poconos allentown and maybe reading we'll be on the look out for development. showers and drenching thunderstorms. these will start to become more prevalent and push closer to i-95 by 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m., south jersey will be looking at this. the main threats are drenching downpours, but that's not the only threat. we're looking at lots of lightning there are the downpours where they hit they could produce localized street flooding. we're looking at the potential for strong, damaging winds from the time storms especially in the northern and western suburbs in philadelphia and wilmington. large hail is not totally out of the question. while there's a low chance of an

isolated tornado. the storm prediction center has the northwestern half of the region from philadelphia to wilmington off to the north and west at a slight risk for an isolated tornado. the bottom line if you see lightning or hearing thunder take cover indoors on the lower floors and ride these storms out in a safe location. allentown, humidity building in the afternoon late storms possible especially after 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. down the shore we're looking at a 79-degree high and storm possible later tonight probably after 8:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. drenching downpours a possibility down the shore. in philadelphia, high of # 5. mix of cloud and sun getting more humid through the afternoon and this evening, late today or tonight, a late thunderstorm is possible and drenching downpours and strong, damaging wind gusts are possible. here's how the numbers will go, 67 by 8:00 a.m. 76 by 11:00 p.m. # p.m., 83 with a high of # 5 --

breaking story. >> let's go over to karen rogers with traffic. >> reporter: we're starting with 422, roads are dry but eastbound traffic is starting to get heavy from oaks to 23 at this point it's a ten minute ride from oaks to 202 a 3-minute delay. we'll see it grow quickly. we have an accident in the area, upper moreland welsh road at carlton drive. we are checking out the tacony-palmyra bridge, traffic is stopped on both sides we had a northbound ship that came through and another one about to move through as well. this is causing a problem on the tacony-palmyra two ships coming through, traffic is stopped head to the betsy ross bridge instead. we expect this to be affectings the burlington bristol bridge in 40 minutes or so. watch for that, as we see the ship moving on through on the tacony-palmyra bridge. new jersey, 43 northbound traffic at creek road an 18 minute ride from the ac expressway to the walt whitman bridge. you can see how dry it is.
