weather cumulus clouds later and most importantly not as humid conditions as we've had. 68 degrees, still kind of mild in philadelphia but comfortable. 57 degrees in allentown. cool and comfy there. 63 in trenton. 58 in millville and 63 in sea isle city. heading out to the bus stop, we're looking at temperatures in the 60's for the most part in philadelphia ranging from 66 and 68 between six and 8 o'clock, comfortable conditions with humidity behaving itself. it is going to be a warm afternoon with a high of 87 around 3 o'clock. even by 9 o'clock we'll be at 74 and by noon 82 but with lower humidity it will feel a lot more comfortable than it has the last couple of days. pollen count such into the medium range today though and probably fluctuating between medium high and medium over the next several days straight into the weekend. by the way starting tomorrow it does get hotter and more humid again and that pattern probably continues into at least the first part of the weekend, karen i'll have details coming up in the seven day. >> all right, dave, let's hit the roads right now. we're looking live on the schuylkill expressway and right on time the construction

has cleared so you can see the ramp to the vine are reopened at this point. traffic moving better. no problems on the schuylkill at the vine, those ramps have just reopened. now we're looking at the roosevelt boulevard near ridge avenue. light volume out there looking pretty good, roads clear and dry. that's your northbound traffic right there headed up towards front street, that earlier accident that we have been talking about the hit and run has cleared so traffic moving better on the boulevard there at front street. on the big picture we still have construction on city avenue right at rolling road, some overnight construction blocking the southbound lanes and what they're doing is allowing traffic to get by in the northbound lanes but that one will slow you down. otherwise we're not seeing any problems on the majors but we have a vehicle fire coming in to us right now in upper dublin. look for it on bethlehem pike at west pennsylvania avenue. you may see restriction there is with crews responding to that vehicle fire, matt. >> let's get back to that hit and run you mentioned karen it's breaking this morning and the search is still on for the driver who left a man critically injured along the roosevelt boulevard. this latest accident shows just how dangerous the stretch of roadway can be for

pedestrians. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live near the scene at front street with more. katherine. >> reporter: matt, this isn't the first accident to happen in this area. there are neighborhoods on either side of the boulevard and people often cross. i do want to let you know an update. we have been told that that 25-year-old victim who is in critical condition is expected to survive. we're hearing that from police now. let me show you where this happened. it happened in the inner lanes of roosevelt boulevard by front street early this morning here in olney. it happened around 1:30 this morning. police believe that the victim was walking in the crosswalk but they don't know yet who had the light. when officers arrived they found the victim lying in the road. he had head trauma, injuries to his legs and torso. we now know he had a broken pelvis and a broken leg. he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. again we're being told he's expected to survive. the driver kept going northbound on the boulevard. police say roosevelt boulevard

can be a dangerous spot for pedestrians, especially at night. >> the boulevard historically is a dangerous street especially to cross on foot. there's 12 lanes of traffic. there's six lanes northbound, there's six lanes southbound. which is a lot of lanes. >> reporter: this is just the latest hit and run to happen along this stretch. you may remember about two years ago when a mother and three of her children were killed in a hit and run on the boulevard. that happened about a half a mile away from this latest hit and run. in this accident, the vehicle is described as either an acura or a honda, dark or black in color. as you take a look here live you can see the roosevelt boulevard has been cleared. accident investigators have cleared the scene but this all remains under investigation. we're also searching for surveillance cameras. there are some nearby business here. they're hoping there's footage that can help in this investigation. we're live in olney, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> we know you'll keep us updated. thanks so much katherine.

new this morning a pedestrian was struck by an suv in delaware. it happened on kirkwood highway near woodmill drive in mill creek around midnight. investigators say the man was trying to cross the highway when he was struck by a mercedes suv. the driver stopped nearby. the victim is in critical condition. a hot pursuit from bensalem into philadelphia ended here in the 4700 block of tackawanna street last night. police first tried to apprehend the two suspects at the holiday inn express on bristol pike in bensalem for reasons which are still unknown to us. they fled south on i-95 with police cars in chase. we do know that police radioed ahead warning the two were wanted for assaulting a police officer. the suspects red taurus crashed into a van on margaret street near tackawanna street. police say the two then tried to run away but they were arrested a short distance away. >> the search continues this morning for another hit and run driver who struck a local stage actor and then kept on

going. it happened at 11th and market streets in center city at 1:00 a.m. yesterday. police say michael toner was crossing the intersection when he was hit. his injury was so severe doctors had to amputate his right leg. family and friends hope the driver comes forward. >> they really need to, you know be courageous enough to come forward and take the consequences. >> how could anybody hit a living being a dog, a person and leave them? >> police are reviewing surveillance footage as they search for that hit and run driver. >> 5:06 now. happening today, the national transportation safety board is expected to release its latest findings on whether or not on amtrak engineer was using his cell phone last month when his train derailed in philadelphia. eight people were killed and more than 200 were injured. legislation continues to work its way through the house that would cut amtrak's budget by $242 million. there is however new funding

for video cameras to be put inside the cabs of locomotives to record the actions of train engineers. >> so that heat starting to really come back, isn't it? >> yeah, especially tomorrow and then in through saturday we're going to have a stretch where it's hot and humid again. for today we're getting kind of a break, though, in terms of humidity. and temperatures will probably be similar to yesterday. storm tracker six live double scan shows you we're dry. sky six showing you that we are comfortable out there. winds fairly calm. you don't see a lost movement on the water on the delaware river and as you take a look at temperatures. not bad as you step outside this morning. 68 degrees in philadelphia. 57 in allentown. 63 in trenton. 61 in wilmington and upper 60's on the works down the shore this morning. great morning for a stroll along the boardwalk. there you can see the lack of cloud cover. we're going to start out with lots of sun. we'll get a couple clouds spilling in as the day goes on but a bright day with lots of sunshine and most importantly lower humidity than we've had the last couple of days. 85 degrees is your high in the lehigh valley.

lots of sun. less humid up in allentown and bethlehem and easton and down the shore we're looking at a high of 78 degrees, lots of sun and pleasant conditions. again, we can't rule out a couple of fair weather cumulus clouds developing during the afternoon but it's going to be pretty bright and pretty nice. lots of sun in philadelphia as well. less humid than the last couple days. 87 degrees winds light at 12 miles per hour. 68 by 8 o'clock but by 11 o'clock, we'll quickly jump up to 80 degrees and then by 2 o'clock, 85 with our high of 87 around 3 o'clock before we slide back to 84 by 5 o'clock. warm out there. cool drinks still important but not as humid. tomorrow we get a cold front that's coming closer to the region and the flow beneath that front will be up from the south bringing hot and humid air back into place. we'll get up to 94 degrees and in fact for the next several days it looks like we have a shot at 90 or better. could be in for the first heat wave of the season. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, sunny and nice today a high of 87. tomorrow hot then gradually

overturned tractor-trailer and then rain or dry it's still unpleasant. we want to take you there. breaking news happening now. an accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer in new jersey. 295 northbound in burlington county and right now all lanes are blocked on 295 northbound at route 541. that's exit 47. you can take the new jersey turnpike basically runs parallel its a good alternate you to right there. we can bring in the commuter traffic report. we have somebody also reporting this accident scene and you can see other people talking about the fact that it's jammed solid here on 295 northbound and that jam just grew as we were looking live right here. now looking at 8 miles an hour approaching the accident scene where they currently have all lanes blocked and as i widen this a little bit here, we can also see the new jersey turnpike is moving smoothly at this hour. not seeing any problems. the yellow traffic flow showing you can take the new jersey turnpike with light volume because 295 northbound shut down at 541 right now. we also have another problem

in new jersey n vineland cumberland county we've got an early accident that brought down a traffic signal here so route 47, delsea drive at lake road. we've got at least one lane blocked in each direction. it's not causing a big delay yet because it's early but i would watch for that as that delay may grow with more volume getting out there. it may take a little while to fix that downed light. looking right now overall new jersey and delaware we're seeing speeds on your majors in delaware about 65, 55 miles an hour, so no big problems with that light volume out there. let's take a look right now and see what's going on with the weather. 68 degrees right now in philadelphia. it's a mild 58 in millville 57 in allentown. temperatures in some spots a good 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. it's still a warm day ahead but not humid. a high of 87, erin. >> all right thanks so much karen. a violent brawl between two drivers apparently fueled by road rage was all caught on camera. take a look at this. a passerby shot this footage in hollywood california monday morning. unbelievable.

the witness says two men in separate cars were screaming at each other for about 10 minutes then both men got out of their vehicles in front of a school and started throwing punches. neither man has filed a police complaint but the lapd is investigating. the white police officer who pushed a black teenaged girl to the ground has resigned from the mckinney texas police force. the video shows officer david eric casebolt also pointing his gun at other black teens after responding to calls at a party at a community owned pool. the officer was not pressured to resign. secretary of state john kerry released this picture on twitter. it's the first picture we've seen of kerry since he broke his flowing a biking accident outside geneva on may 31st and now there is some uncertainty whether he will be able to travel to take part in the usually final nuclear talks with iran. there are suggestions talks

could move to new york to accommodate kerry. >> the nba finals provides another nail-biter for fans, this time as the cavaliers survive the comeback by the warriors. cleveland squandered a 20-point lead but still managed to win game three last night. lebron james scored 40 points. new side cook matthew dellavedova added 20 in the 96 to 91 victory. dellavedova was hospitalized with severe cramps after the game. the cavs have a two to one series lead going into game four tomorrow night. you can watch it at 9 o'clock right here on 6abc. cincinnati's joey votto hit three home runs last night leading the reds to an 11 to two thrashing of the phillies. the loss is the phillies' sixth in a row on the road. they now have the majors' worst road record at seven and 22. the series finale is this afternoon in cincinnati. phillies pitcher jerome williams will start. >> okay, 5:16 now. a move by the obama

turnpike or 130 little more out of the way but a good alternate for you right there instead of 295. a big accident in new jersey. now we're looking live on the 30 bypass, this is at 340. it's early yet. we've got light volume its dry but dave we're going to see sun glare out there, hm. >> yeah, we are. we're looking at lots of sun coming up over the horizon in a little bit karen. 74 degrees by 9 o'clock. right now we're in the 60's in a lot of neighborhoods. 82 degrees by noon. and as we roll through the day it is going to be bright and warm with a high of 87 at 3 o'clock. the good news, humidity remains very low today. so, we are looking at much more comfortable conditions despite the warm air. got more choppy weather west of denver than we had yesterday. also some showers possible down along the gulf coast and the southeastern coast a-couple thunderstorms up north of chicago. the areas where we think there could be some severe weather with some strong gusty thunderstorms would be from western new york, western pennsylvania including pittsburgh and then back through portions of ohio, indiana, illinois and all the way into nebraska.

only chance of tornadoes would probably be in western new york today around what would be up there buffalo new york and that sort of thing. again, maybe some wind gusts from those storms out to the west. right now on the big board green aircraft at all of our most frequently traveled destinations so no major delays this morning and no sign of rain in any of these spots, either. erin. >> all right, david, thank you. a new study finds protecting girls from cervical cancer might be possible with just one dose of the hpv vaccine rather than the three now recommended. researchers looked at data from previous trials covering more than 24,000 young women to see how much protection they got from one, two or three doses of the hpv vaccine vaccine. the estimated vaccine effectiveness after about four years to be between 77 percent and 86 percent for all the young women regardless of how many shots they received. a new study may shed further light on how a

very dangerous. instead, they say you should wash the area with soap and water and call 911. boy is expected to fully recover. which is good news. >> morning buzz time. talking about amelia earhart still a mystery as to what happened on that fateful flight when she tried to fly her several around the world. this new video has surfaced. it was lost for some time. it is footage that shows the famed pilot before she disappeared that year in 1937. it shows her preparing for the trip posing for photographers, climbing into the cockpit of the plane walking along the tarmac. it shows her husband and fred noonan. this is being shown. she disappeared somewhere in the pacific. >> the photographers son had the box with the footage in it for decades.
