you when sensitive groups asthma heart and lung diseases, the air quality not good, stay inside or not exert yourself if you're going to be out there. we'll see a mixture of clouds and sun spotty thunderstorm in the northern suburbs this afternoon. 71 degrees in philadelphia. a lot of suburbs in the 60s comfortable as you step out early this morning. the humidity has started to inch up. at the bus stop we'll climb into the 70s, it will be humid under partly cloudy skies overall. as we roll through the day 89 degrees noon, 94 by # p.m. high of 95 should slide in around 4:00 p.m. if we hit the 95 it will tie the existing record in philadelphia. in fact a couple of other communities may challenge records this afternoon. karen i'll talk about coming up and show you future tracker 6 with thunderstorms and let you know when the hot weather

subsides. >> reporter: we're expecting to crank up the a-c later on today. we're looking in center city. overnight construction has cleared, 676 the ranch for the schuylkill expressway has -- ramp for the schuylkill expressway has reopened. nice and dry in king of prussia. 202 no problems as people are traveling. we have construction blocking the two lanes right lane and center lane on the turnpike past for the walk and crews eastbound between valley forge and fort washington, you have lots of crews working overnight. overnight construction blocks the right lane on going on the ben franklin bridge westbound toward center city. traffic is moving fine, no big problems out there. 295 northbound, 130 and 30, construction blocking one lane that will wrap up in about an hour. >> a 17-year-old vanished in a

philadelphia neighborhood. her father tells police she was taking a bathroom break in the woods. katherine scott is live in chestnut hill with more details on the disappearance of sarah wills. >> reporter: well, matt, police have expanded their search area and with daylight more officers will be called in. you can see along germantown avenue there's a crime scene unit part of the response from the missing teen overnight. let's go to a picture of the girl police are looking for it was taken yesterday 17-year-old sarah wills 5'," 155 pounds, long brown hair wearing marine hatter top and blue shorts. they were on their way back to upper dublin driving along the 7600 block of germantown avenue in chestnut hill when she told her daughter she didn't feel well and had to relieve herself. she went into the woods and

didn't come back. overnight, k-9 unit were called in, s.w.a.t teams and she has not turned up. >> she left cell phone in the car before she exited the car so we can't call her. we contacted male friends as well as female friends as well as other family members and no one knows where this female is. >> reporter: again police have been searching the wooded area throughout the night. you can see the flashing lights sweeping through the trees they did find her purse and other personal items her parents confirmed they belong to her, so far they have not found her, if you have any tips police want to hear from you, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> keep us posted. heavy smoke and flames damaged a building in north philadelphia. a fire broke out on the 100 block of west girard avenue

1:40 a.m. the fire started in the girard grocery and spread to the apartments above. nobody was living in the apartments. firefighters evacuated a family next-door as a precaution. there were no reports of injuries. police are looking for a southwest philadelphia store clerk who they say shot a customer after an argument. surveillance video shows the attack on june 3, on the 4500 block of paris street. the store clerk claimed the 20-dollar bill was fake. the store clerk shot the person in the back and the hand. >> the victim was 38, the the clerk fled and hadn't been seen since, he is in his 50s. the customer is recovering at the hospital. pennsylvania state house has taken an official public

stance against governor tom's wolf moratorium on executions. lawmakers voted 119 to 71. and under the governor to revarsity. the governor -- reverse verse. 5:06, the water is back on for residents along 10th street in south philadelphia. it may not stay that way crews were repairing a water main break when something went wrong. they were able to get the water on last night. the main will not be fully repaired. residents should be prepared for rolling water outages through the summer. that will be a big pain. >> reporter: the biggest pain today will be the heat and the

humidity. there might be thunderstorms around later on. as we look at storm tracker 6 live double scan you're dry for the morning commute. frankly this part of the day before dawn and slightly after dawn is going to be the best part of the day. as we look outside we have clouds overhead there will be sunny breaks at the airport. you can see how tranquil the scene looks as the winds are not that strong in most neighborhoods. as i mentioned right now the temperatures are treating us okay. 71 in philadelphia. 65 in in allentown. 66 in trenton. 66 degrees in sea isle city and up the pike on the boardwalk in atlantic city. a little bit humid but not oppressive. as we go through the day sun will mix with clouds we'll not only feel the temperatures shoot up in a hurry but the humidity will rise. 3:30, looks like we're dry keep an eye out in the northern suburbs for a possible spotty thunderstorm in the lehigh valley and reading late this afternoon up through the dinner

hour 6:00 p.m. you're looking at. later in the evening a couple of more up there. mostly suppressed up to the north. as we look at the temperature we're getting up to 95 degrees, hot and humid you saw a spotty thunderstorm in the northern suburbs, winds will be breezy, with the heat and humid building it will not feel all that comfortable. 73 by 8:00 a.m. 86 by 11:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m., sitting in the 90s and high of 95 not until 4:00 p.m. in terms of record heat 95 in philadelphia will tie the record for this date. same thing in allentown, 92 will tie the record. 94 in wilmington will be close to the 95-degree record. in allentown you're a couple of degrees of a record high, as well. the record high in atlantic city is 97, we're going to 89 there. if you're on the beach 81.
