good morning, it is 7:00 a.m., sunday june 14 eva is off nydia will join us in just a bit. i'm alicia vitarelli. breaking news, a water main break in west philadelphia. sending water gushing down the streets. a child is found alone in a south jersey park and now the search is on for the toddler's parents. several people are sickened by noxious fumes at a montgomery county pizza shop. we'll have those stories but first, we go outside to chris sowers with the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. how is it feeling chris? >> reporter: it's actually feels okay, we have mostly sunny skies up above and temperatures in the 70s. the only areas seeing nasty weather, most locations down in

cape may county. if you're in cape may wildwood, avalon, sea isle city you're picking up showers and thunderstorms and cluster of thunderstorms that developed over a few hours or so. over the last 15 minutes that has calmed down as the lightning strikes are down to two. they say are taken at 15 minute increments there's a sign it is weakening racing out to sea. cape may it's a wet go of it on route 9. garden state parkway up to sea isle city. slow go, the roads are wet responding taking place avalon, stone harbor wildwood reporting downpours, everybody else doing okay, combination of sun and clouds, 73 muggy degrees in philadelphia. 74 in wilmington, dover and millville, 72. boardwalk in atlantic city showing 71. once the cluster of downpours pulls out to sea, most of the

philadelphia sending thousands of gallons of water into the streets, flooding homes and submerging cars, people are being vac it -- evacuated from the area. annie mccormick joins us with all the details. annie that water continues to rise, what a scene. >> reporter: alicia definitely is. in the area i'm at, 52nd and popular, looking down the street you can see the cars submerged in the water further down you can see the activity behind me that's the area where they believe that the street is actually buckling where the water main did break. take a look at the video. this is video from the this morning. of this happened at 5:30 this is water actually gushing out of the street. looks like a geyser flooding cars, some cars were floating at one point. we know that the water crews on location were able to turn off the water at 52nd and shut. the water main break is located in the 500 block of north 52 that's the area where it's

bubbling causing the cars to submerge. 13 homes have been evacuated. they believe this is the 36-inch water main break. that's how big they believe it is at this point. now, police are blocking off at least a four-block area as the water crews work to fix the problem. of course there are more problems getting the water to recede and clean the water up. firefighters are on the scene as well. at this point there's really no idea how long this will all take. now, back out here live, again you can see here this is the area, look at these homes, a lot of people standing alongside they really have nowhere to go, these are some people that didn't have to be evacuated. they are in their homes but further down, multiple homes 13 had to be evacuated as crews clean up the mess. alicia.

>> more developing news this morning, authorities in camden county are searching for the parents of a toddler who was found alone in a park. they found the 3-year-old girl at 8:30 last night. the employees took her to the park office, they called police, they tried torched the child's parents, but no, no avail. calls to other police agencies including philadelphia and camden for reports of a missing child produced nothing. officers with the division of child and family services took the little girl into custody. she is described as an african-american girl 3-foot tall thin build green dress pink bathing suit and pink. her name is shere. a 63-year-old woman was crossing at the intersection of south and oregon just after

midnight when she was struck by a vehicle. she was rushed to jefferson hospital in critical, but stable condition. there's no description only the vehicle that hit the woman. if you have any information you're urged to call police right away. the action cam was at the parlor pizza shop at suburban square shopping center where five members of a cleaning crew were overcome by fumes. firefighters arrived they treated the workers at the scene before transporting them to the hospital. >> i believe it was cleaning agents they mixed together to make the fumes in the buildings. >> two of the worker rs in serious -- workers are in serious condition. five firefighters had to be decontaminated from the scene. they are said to be okay. a 4-year-old girl who was pulled from a pond has died. she was attending a picnic on

new london road when she wandered away. >> when we arrived there were several people at the party at the retention pond. >> medics pulled her from the pond and rushed her to the mom where she died. the gate was unlocked. newark police are investigating they have not released the little girl's name. philadelphia police are trying to determine what triggered a tense stand off in port richmond yesterday. it unfolded on emerald street. officers responded to gunshots inside a home. when they arrived someone inside the home began to shoot at them hitting two patrol cars. a s.w.a.t team surrounded the house, officers heard another gunshot inside.

>> we inserted a robot with a camera. the robot identified there were two victims down and they were quite obviously dead. >> two men were found dead inside one believed to be the gunman, police have not released the identities of the men. investigators say the prison worker who held two convicted killers escape from a maximum security prison in upstate new york originally planned to be the getaway driver. they say joyce mitchell planned to pick up richard matt and david sweat after their escape and drive them somewhere about seven hours away, but they say mitchell got cold feet and never showed. she also charged with giving the men contraband including hack saw blades and chisel. she is due back in court home. the -- back in court tomorrow. "good morning america" will have more on the manhunt for escapees and the woman charged with

"action news" reporter, annie mccormick joining us live with the details. a lot of people being you ushered out of their homes cars bog flooded. the streets a mess. >> reporter: quite a scene and alicia there's thousands of gallons of water now receding which is a good thick. thing a half-hour ago i was ten feet up.

if we pan to the next block where the water main break happened. you can see the blacktop of the street on 52nd at wymissing. the water has receded there. in a half-hour we're seeing the blacktop. this is video from 5:00 a.m. this is what alerts went out that something was very wrong. water was geyser busting out of the street and submerging cars and water main break is located in the 500 block of north 52nd and buckling the street and that was causing the cars to submerge. at least evacuated, crews believe that break is 36 inches. the evacuation spans four blocks multiple blocks are flooded at this time. we caught up with a neighbor that described when they realized something was wrong. >> i was taking a shower and everything cut off. may neighbor called me and said we got a flood we got a flood

so you don't don't be thinking when i first looked out the water was not that high, you could see the water shooting up the street. next thing i know i got dressed. this is the 4th time this happened around here. >> reporter: and now this is what you will see as the water recedes. you can see a trash bag or pot that was floating a half-hour ago, at this intersection at 52nd and popular this is still flooded. earlier today that truck that was right there the water was just above headlights. some people may see that there are cars are flooded they may have damage, we're talking to people who are calling their insurance companies about not only their homes but their vehicles. a septa bus was brought out here to move people to a shelter that the red cross has set up at west catholic high school. no word on when people will be able to return, as you can see

crews are working on the scene him they did turn off the water main break though, a couple of hours ago now it's really about getting the water out of here, making it so it's safe for neighbors to come back into their homes and assess the damage. live in west philadelphia. and channel 6 "action news." >> two separate shootings to tell you about overnight in camden, new jersey that left one man dead and four others wound. the action cam was on sounder street. gunfire erupted when it ended a man in his 40s was shot in his back he died at the hospital. three others were in critical and stable conditions. about an hour and half later a man in his 20s was shot in the parking lot of this luk oil gas station the action cam was on the scene of the 1900

block of admiral wilson boulevard. police found a man shot in the arm and leg. he was taken to cooper university hospital in staibl -- stable condition. so far no word on a suspect or reason for the shooting. in cinnaminson a series of explosion and fire ripped through a tractor-trailer. the action cam was on industrial highway. fire broke out at 2:00 5:00 a.m. the trailer was filled -- 2:35, the trailer was filled with cans of spray paint. it took 45 minutes to gain control of the flames. investigators are trying to determine what sparked the blaze. we're learning more about what happened when a heavily armed man tried to take on the dallas police department this weekend. the suspect is dead, but the death toll cover higher when he struck with bullets and bombs and held police at bay for

hours. abc's richard cantu has the details. >> reporter: the fiery end of the line of a one man's attack on dallas police. the suspect shot dead by a police sniper's bullet. he sprayed the headquarters with a hail of gunfire. >> we believe this suspect meant to kill officers. >> reporter: he used his massive van as a batters ram against police cruisers and led others on a chase across town. he stopped and standoff began. by 4:30, a bomb robot picked up a suspicious package there are pipe bombs inside. 30 minutes later a sniper shoots out the engine bobbing block of the van making sure it's not going anywhere.

himself. the front is running like this underneath the front all this humid stuff is pushing back toward the north. that means uncomfortable conditions. later this afternoon, overnight tonight, monday, tuesday very sticky and miserable if you don't like the humidity. satellite and radar showing the warm front stretching across the keystone state. is that pushes closer to the area it will fire up the storm. the front is sitting right here, that pulls to the north, that will fire up showers and storms as the daytime heating from the sun gets going the humidity increases, it's all the ingredients you need for a thunderstorm late in the day. surface map shows the thunderstorm over top of us today and tomorrow. the front hangs out over the top of the delaware valley and it increases the chance for showers and thunderstorms come tuesday as well. it's wednesday when this front kicks out to sea along with the humidity. it feels good around here again.
