cloud moved in quickly bringing stormy skies and rain, this is how it looked over center city this evening. an early morning for all of us

to keep umbrellas close bias we start the workweek. sunday night, the big story on "action news" is threat of severe weather in the forecast. >> rain is already falling across much of our region. that will remain the case for a lot of us touring the overnight hours. meteorologist melissa magee is keeping an eye on storm tracker six double scan radar and adjoins us live with the very latest, melissa. >> walter and sarah we are track ago this moisture and heavy rainfall and showers and storms are pressing east of philadelphia into south jersey. storm tracker six live double scan radar showing you some light activity in mercer county and trenton but more moisture moving across areas in the toms river and as far south as cape may new jersey. we will go in on the broad scope with storm tracker six live double scan 3-d and you can see first batch of moisture we are tracking currently pressing to the south and east. throughout the overnight hours we are tracking secondary boundary that is currently up on the western and central pennsylvania. this will work eastward overnight tonight and throughout the day on monday.

tomorrow morning for very latest on the conditions before you head out the door. in other news tonight the philadelphia police swat team raided a home in the cities somerton section today. they were trying to get to the bottom of the allegations of welfare fraud. hundreds of thousands of dollars in fraud. "action news" reporter vernon odom is live at the scene on the 800 block of edison avenue vernon? >> reporter: well, sarah tonight this section of the somerton is once again peaceful and tranquil and erie sound here tonight after an army of cops descended on this neighborhood today and marched up this driveway with assault rifles and body arm or in toe. this is a neighbor surveillance video of the philadelphia police department swat team raiding a home this afternoon in the 800 block of edison avenue in the far northeast. they were assisting the new jersey attorney general's office, who is serving a warrant, on the occupant of this rental house in the very quiet neighborhood. eventually, they broke the

front door down to gain entrance and make at least one arrest this passerby whose identity we will in the reveal witnessed it all. >> all of a sudden we seen a couple vans, maybe 20 or 15 swat team came out and they ran up the driveway, and i parked to the side and all of a sudden they said open the door. there was nothing. then i heard boom, and they hit it with the battering ram and then they went in and then they proceeded to come out in five or ten minutes. >> reporter: police sources say case involves hundreds of thousands of dollars in welfare fraud. that is what swat team told the witness. >> insurance fraud and welfare fraud is what i her. >> can we talk to you a minute. >> reporter: these are relatives of the woman arrested today. her brother and three daughters entering the house late today refusing to comment. tonight the spokesmen for new jersey's attorney general, has not revealed any further information, about today's raid here. live from somerton, vernon

odom for channel six "action news". >> thanks, vernon. there is a massive clean up underway right now in west philadelphia, that is after a water main break big enough to inundate cars, flood homes and force evacuations. "action news" reporter chad pradelli is live with the very latest chad? >> reporter: walter, water main broke three-quarters of the way up fifth second street. you can see in the left side of the road where that fencing is all that water came gushing down to this low spot down here at wyalusing avenue. many of these homes right here add six or 7 feet of water in them. one home owner gave us a tour and he has an extensive clean up. >> water came up, it was up to here okay. all this is wet. >> reporter: jefferson's basement is a mess, a fridge, freezer are turn over, there is a gaping hole in his fun days wall, but even more heart breaking. >> i lost three bird, you can see the cage here. >> reporter: millions of

gallons of water flooded this west fill neighborhood after a 3-foot water main burst around 5:00 a.m. blacktop was turned into a geyser, cars over taken by the gushing river down fifth second street. >> it flooded from here, to here. >> just ruined. >> reporter: yes. >> i just bought the car april the 24th. >> our primary focus right now toys clean up the homes and a lot of utilities have been terminated in homes just for the safety of the clean up operation. so given the temperatures out here we want to make sure we can get power back to homes. >> reporter: what caused the water main break is unclear but mayor michael nutter and officials with the water department toured the scene and said an investigation is underway. >> we do inspections of our pipes and make sure that these sort of things don't happen but this one got away from frustrates reports report jefferson says this is third floor in 20 years he has had to endure. he understands these things

happen, his message to the city don't drag your feet. >> hurry up and do something you know don't let this keep happening. >> reporter: water department tells me adjusters will be out here in the next couple of days assessing the damage and getting the claims process rolling. i'm live from west philadelphia, chad pradelli for channel six "action news". >> chad, thank you. police in bensalem are investigating a deadly stabbing tonight this is what we know around 8:00 o'clock a man was found stabbed at the salem crossing apartments in the 3500 block of east street road. the victim in his 30's was rush to the hospital where he died. police have taken several people in for questioning but no word on any arrests. police have decided not to file charges against the parents of the little girl found alone last night at clementon park in splash world. employees of the park on berlin road found the three-year old girl at 8:30 last night. the workers took her to the park office and called police.

the girls parents were eventually located this morning. officials say that it appears that the incident was as a result of the misunderstanding among family members. fire broke out inside a town home this afternoon in northeast philadelphia fire fighters were called to the scene along the 3500 block of woodhaven road near academy just after 4:00 o'clock. when they arrived they found flames rising from the roof and so a second alarm was declared to call in more help. no serious injuries were reported but several fire fighters were overcome by the hot, humid conditions. they were assisted at the scene. a 74 year-old man died during an overnight house fire in brick township, new jersey. fire broke out just before 1:00 a.m. on bauer drive. fire fighters say a couple, both in their 70's along with their dog were inside the home when it happened. the dog escape but then the man collapsed. he was rush to ocean medical center where he died a short time later. meanwhile the doggies now missing as well. no word on how the whole thing started.

philadelphia police after rested the driver they say struck a woman in south philadelphia early this morning and then took off. it happened just before 12:30 at intersection of south ninth street and oregon avenue. police say the six three-year old woman was crossing the street when a car struck her and then drove away. she was rush to jefferson university hospital in critical but stable condition. this afternoon police arrested joseph bestco of aston. sources tell "action news" that the striking vehicle was hidden off of convent road in aston. the archdiocese of philadelphia is announcing the closing of three churches, each is a parish that had previously merged with another. incarnation of our lord in the olney section of philadelphia, our mother of sorrows in bridgeport, montgomery counties and holy savior of linwood, delaware county will be shuttered effective july 15th. the places of worship had fallen in disrepair and parishes could not afford the work that was needed. two doctors hit the road last week to drive home their

again with so much moisture and so much humidity overhead we cannot rule out shower or storm popping up at any point in the day. showers still persist on tuesday, high up to 89. we will get a break on wednesday and won't be as warm then with a high of 86 degrees and on thursday we were looking dry high temperature of 85, it will turn more humid with the shower or thunderstorm possible. there is some tropical moisture that we will be tracking late in the week. we will see if that indirectly impacts our region. on friday clouds and sun, high of 85, sunny on saturday and next, fathers day on sunday, next sunday, high of 86 degrees. summer begins next sunday too guys. >> thanks, melissa. scientists got a surprise this weekend a message from space. months ago they sent this lander into space. it skipped over surface of the comet and came to rest without enough sunlight to power anyone to sleep mode. researchers throughout they lost it until a message
