balcony collapse. we have information on the tragedy that took place at a perform building. and the al qaeda leader killed in a u.s. air strike. and two navy facilities were evacuated this morning due to a possible threat and right now the navy yard in south philadelphia, still being evacuated and all essential non-navy personnel are gone for the day. the complex on robbins streets was evacuated but now given the all clear. we'll bring you updates as we get them and get the latest on 6abc.com. all right, our other big story this noon is another steamy and stormy accuweather forecast. >> right now all philadelphia public schools are dismissing

early because of the heat and human, right now the conditions are perfect to spawn storms this afternoon. karen rogers is tracking the latest over the big board. >> we have stormtracker 6 live double scan where can you start to see the beginning of a couple of storms taking shape right now, we are watching this up and seeing some in the poconos and one cell near here in trenton as well as one near lancaster not a lot happening yet but just the beginning of these storms taking shape right here, lets go to stormtracker 6 live double scan you can see this in motion right now, here are the storms to the norm storms peppered through the air to the west and that is what is heading our direction those that do could get hit with gusty winds you up to 60 miles per hour and heavy downpours, what is why we are watching it so closely, 88 degree it's

already so warm and humid 82 in allentown and 86 in millville, 90 the current temperature in dover wear, when you factor in the heat index. 96 in wilmington and 94 in philadelphia and feels like 99 in dover delaware are you getting a break along the coastline feeling like the mid-70s, the heat and humidity a big factor and the storms come and we are starting to see them move into the area and early afternoon, downpours a high risk of that and strong winds, and that brings severe weather and damaging wind gusts as well. here is what to expect. hot and humid not everybody will see this but we'll get some strong storms with this. by 7:30 p.m., 82 degrees, we'll talk more about the storms in a couple of minutes and i'll show you storm tracker 6 to see what

it will look like this afternoon. as we mentioned thousands of philadelphia students were mississippied at noon because of high temperatures today still high schools decided to hold their graduation ceremonies despite the heat, "action news" katherine scott has the story from roxborough. >> it's a steamy and hot day we have quite a few of them lately and a few of them are letting out for the day as they are across the city, many tell me their next stop is anywhere with air conditioning. >> it's 100 degrees in there as the weather heats up so does roxborough high school, for some it was a happy surprise when they walked through the door this morning. >> i thought it would be a full day and it wasn't and i said all right we are getting out early. >> out at the music center

storm bill makes landfall there the storm is bashing the coast with high wind and rains and there are evacuations for low lying areas some isolated areas could see up to a foot of rain over the next few days. >> engineers are on the scene of a large sinkhole that opened up last night in bethlehem township. it opened on claire mount street and the pennsylvania power and light tower is not as risk of falling over, david henry will have a live report at 12:30. 28 people are arrested in a joint operation targeting prostitution in newcastle, delaware these are photos of some of the people taken into custody, the arrests were made on delaware route 9 and u.s. route 13. many of the people charged have

been released on bail. two brothers will be arraigned today on charges of robbery and aggravated assault and theft marple township police are one of to suspects that broke into a home in broomall yesterday afternoon, a 17-year-old was attacked and the the suspects got away with money and jewelry from a safe, a fourth suspect is still at large. police are trying to catch a taxi thief in philadelphia they believe that one person stole eight different cabs over the past week, this is new surveillance over one of the crimes in progress a man broke into a parked taxi and drove away with it last monday seven other taxis were taken between june 7th and monday. they were stolen in various areas in west and southwest philadelphia. philadelphia leaders just

announces planned to deal with the massive crowds specialed to hit the city during the pope's historic visit in september tourists will packed the streets for a glimpse of pope francis. john rawlins live at city hall. >> reporter: hi rick, this is billed as a focus on transportation for the world family gathering and specifically the papal visit expected on september 26th and 27th 1 to 2 million people are expected to be here in philadelphia and possibly more, we did not get a lot of details just broad stroke warning for instance don't expect to drive into philadelphia in a private car, but expect to walk long znss once you get here after you likely arrive in mass transit. you'll need special passes and

meteorologist, karen rogers is back here now you say we are seeing hints of precipitation now. >> yes these storms are just beginning to take shape lets look at stormtracker 6 live double scan around the radiation and on this wider view, you start to notice a little bit and i want to go in closer we have a look at this with double scan and you can see how this is developing, i'll start this up in motion some storms to the west near lancaster and the idea that it's coming our way and we can go down to the south and this one is in middletown delaware, it's heading over into salem county and you see a couple of sprinkles here or there, this isn't a big deal yet

but we have a chance for severe weather later and reading seeing the beginning of a little storm, you get the idea. lets go outside and show you what is looks like out there it's hot and humid as we look out live in pens landing. the dew point is up there and we are at 70 and 71 all day, wins out of the west-southwest a touch of a breeze. the bar metric pressure is falling and we have sprinkles earlier and here comes the batch of storms to the west, it's all happening ahead of the front it's seeing out of the moisture here and giving us the chance of moisture comes through, the storm prediction centers telling us there is a chance to see severe weather, and a chance of a wind gust, and we need to take
