enough despite just an unbelievable performance from lebron james. he put on an extraordinary run, but the talent and depth of golden state, too much to overcome. dellavedova grabs the rebound. leans in, shot misses. dellavedova again, and he's knocked to the ground by green. with 1:41 remaining. he'll shoot free throws. mozgov tremendous performance. but the cavaliers' season will end tonight. >> jeff: they got beat by a better team. but they got the most out of their abilities, to me mike overall. some guys had sub-par series but overall, that they made it

he's in the penalty. so sketchen curry with 20 points and eight assists. you know he's going to get a kiss from riley curry when this one is over. it's going be a championship kiss from one of the stars of these playoffs. >> mike: and mom's saying to riley, we're going to win the whole thing. it's unbelievable. it is absolutely unbelievable. what a year for curry and the warriors. >> mike: mvp and championship in the same season. and they do it on the road. we talked so much about oracle arena and how great they were at home. so many huge road wins. >> jeff: mike, think about it. four years ago, when mark took over his first year they weren't a playoff team. then slowly building playoff team really good team and now a champion. it just shows you if you have the right players with the right character and the right habits

and the right health, you, too, can make a great run. >> mike: they didn't face a lot of adversity during the regular season. one of the best regular seasons in the history of the league as j.r. smith hits that one. and steve kerr has to call time-out. cavs still fighting with 55.2 remaining. smith, who struggled tonight, with a couple of three pointers late. and steve kerr forced to call time. and that's his last time-out. steve kerr's been in the league a long long time. and he's seen some crazy comebacks. curry, that first year winning 26 games, of course he had some ankle injuries early in his career when he was the seventh overall pick in 2009. then mark you saw the improvement the next year. the 23 wins was -- >> jeff: lockout year. >> mike: that was the lockout

year. and then back to the playoffs. second round, that first year. first round last year. and now on the verge of an nba title. >> mark: mike coach talked about it. i've been in the huddle with these guys. high character, tremendous work ethic. great habits. you do those things and you're a total team, you give yourself a chance. >> mike: here in the playoffs remember they were down 2-1 to memphis in the western conference semis. came back and won three in a row. they were down 2-1 in the finals against lebron james and trying to wrap up their third straight win to claim their title. james with 30 points 17 rebounds and eight assists. they're still going to try and make golden state hit some free throws before this one is over. iguodala will inbound.

curry looking to get free. iguodala finds dre pond green. crowd chanting yelling for a foul. james comes over to double-team, and they call a reach-in foul. tristan thompson called for the bump. >> mark: i don't understand why the foul was committed right away? clock is not your friend right now. you have the ball away from curry. take the foul immediately. >> mike: at least on the initial inbound, try to make a play for a steal, an aggressive play and if you foul, you foul. and green misses. so they've now missed seven free throws. 13 of 20. cleveland missed 12 tonight. green misses a second. thompson, the rebound.

eight-point game. dellavedova. gets away. shut off by green. james catches. james on the drive. gets to the lay-up, banks it in. and a quick foul with 37.2 remaining. the cavs continue to fight. a six-point game. >> mark: the problem is that's a foul on steph curry. i'm going to take a wild guess and say he's not going to miss two. >> mike: well curry 3 for 4 tonight. the warriors will need to hit a couple of free throws here. james looks absolutely exhausted. >> jeff: he's played 46. curry's played 43. draymond green, 40. it's what happens. you got to rely on your best players to have the stamina and

endurance to play great basketball even through fatigue. >> mike: there you see curry's numbers. only missed two here in the finals. comes up short. and david blatt will call time-out. with 36.7 seconds remaining. and golden state hanging onto this lead. it is currently seven. now blatt is out of time-outs, so both teams out of time-outs. you saw curry with 23. draymond green, the triple-double. once again, andre iguodala with a fantastic performance. >> jeff: two-way performance, mike. his scoring has been such a bonus. his play-making, you expect. the three-point shooting. you don't.

the defense, you expect. the scoring punch, an incredible bonus to this warrior attack. and he was consistent. he didn't play one bad game. six straight really good performances by iguodala. >> mike: the veteran in his second year at golden state. in his 11th year in the league. just a brilliant performance in his first nba finals. 36.7 left. j.r. smith trying to get free for a three pointer. they throw it to smith. smith steps back. forces up the three -- and gets it! knocks it in! it's a four-point game! livingston knocked out of bounds. and it's still golden state ball. >> jeff: they have six to get it over. if you're james, you should be committing up. >> mike: curry trying to get away. dellavedova in pursuit, bumps

him. sketchen kur curry will shoot free throws. how about this from cleveland? not going away yet. >> mark: clearly trying to get in front of steph curry. foul by dellavedova, sending curry to the line for two. >> mike: huge free throws right here. well, we saw the warriors kind of starting to celebrate, the fans here seemed to be resigned. we were even waxing poetic about the upcoming championship but cleveland still fighting tooth and nail until the bitter end. curry makes it a five-point game. a little anxiety at oracle arena. they are ready to celebrate. but not done yet. clutch free throws there from curry.

again, cleveland out of time-outs. six-point game. smith misses. rebound, taken by iguodala. and fouled by thompson with 21 seconds remaining. j.r. smith knocking down some three pointers here in this fourth quarter. 15 points in the period. the try and keep the cavs' slim hopes alive. now iguodala will shoot. he's 2 of 6. an anti-referee chant breaks out. and another missed free throw. high anxiety for golden state. >> mark: i don't want the ball to be thrown into lebron james.

>> mike: that makes it seven. james gets it. james brings it up the floor. gets away. sets. nice fake. gets a good open look -- and misses the three. rebound, iguodala. fouled from behind with 10.6 remaining. and that will do it. that was an opportunity down the stretch. but stephen curry and draymond green can start their celebration. a little bit of a scare here down the final couple of minutes. and one of the great regular seasons in the history of the league, 67 wins. one of the most dominant home court records in nba history is going to end with a title, and there's alvin gentry the new pelicans coach. and curry and kerr. lebron james with the congratulations for the mvp.

and a point of respect toward the warriors' bench. james comes out. what a magnificent finals for lebron james. but he will fall short. and he is hearing "mvp" chants chants -- >> mark: great show of sportsmanship and class acknowledging the mvp and also steve kerr. got to give him a lot of credit mike. took over a tough job and a tough situation. won over the locker room and is a championship coach. >> mike: smith will throw up a three. rebound, curry. and the dream season is now complete. the golden state warriors have the 2015 nba champions. their first title in 40 years. and how sweet it must be for those crazy loyal bay area fans.

a disappointed lebron james with a finals for the ages. but comes up short. and the respect between these two teams -- the championship warriors warriors. they had to fight tooth and nail to knock off these cavaliers. the fourth title in franchise history for golden state. much more to come here from cleveland after this time-out.

night. this is awesome. that's what we talked about. staying strong. stay with it was coach's motto. stay with it. they kept fighting. and this is -- this sun real. unreal. >> doris: ten years, you have been known in this league as a defensive player. what kind of satisfaction do you take that your offense helped win this group a championship? >> that doesn't matter at all. i've been -- they call me young scottie pippen when i was a kid. my game was always doing everything. they needed me to score more so i got to step up and take the shots. >> doris: you stepped up and were aggressive. all season long, strength in numbers. was written on t-shirts. how much more than a slogan was this for this group? >> we knew we would win games, even when games are close, we said we might be up two or three at half or down at half but the strength we have in all our guys we're going to pull it out. that's what we did all year. >> doris: congratulations, andre. >> thank you, thank you. >> doris: mike? >> mike: all right, doris. they win it with help from a
