you have to go outside and enjoy it. >> on monday karen couldn't wait to get back in it was so oppressive. today we might have to reel her back in. >> i might walk home at this point. it's beautiful out here. hopefully you can get outside and really enjoy it. the sun is shining, birds are chirping and low humidity. what else can i do for you. you can see we have clear skies but it's not going last all that long. we're watching those high clouds try to build in from the south and west and you see those showers as well. dupe in the up are 50's so feeling nice and comfortable dramatic change from yesterday when they were in the 70's. right now it's 62 in warrington, 61 in kennett square, a comfortable 73 in the city but in the low 60's in new jersey like in browns mills, 62. we're 65 in glassboro and 66 in dover delaware. here's what you can expect today. 84 degrees for your high. nice and comfortable. by 9:00 a.m., bright sunshine and 78t we'll see more of those clouds streaming in as the day progresses. by noon 82.

by 3:00 p.m., 83 and by 6:00 p.m. coming down from that high and 78 with some showers tonight and that's going to impact your morning commute tomorrow so details on that um canning up in just a minute. seeing any sun glare out there matt? >> seeing a little bit of sun glare and don't you be going home unless i'm allowed to go home too. that's the rule. getting ready for the morning commute with some sunshine. going to need the sunglasses, the visors in the down position. a little extra time required on the pennsylvania turnpike as you travel eastbound but it's an improving situation. the crash about 3 miles east of the willow grove interchange is now only occupying the left lane. they've gotten the center lane and the right lane reopened. so, as you head towards bensalem the left lane is blocked. you can expect some slowing but at least now you are getting by and westbound all lanes are reopened. an improving situation on the pennsylvania turnpike. we're also watching a broken down vehicle here along 95, northbound side. can you see it there that

white sedan by the girard avenue interchange. tow truck on the scene now. right lane is blocked. it's not causing a big delay. southbound volume is building headed down towards center city. if you're headed towards center city on the ben franklin bridge, at least this morning you can see where you're going. unlike yesterday. skies a lot clearer nonmajor problems on our good buddy ben. we have these traffic light issues in pennsauken on 130 both ways at cove road. two left lanes out of commission as they work to fix those lights. matt. >> thank you matt. new this morning a philadelphia man is in critical condition following a brutal assault overnight. the search is on for his three armed attackers. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside northwest detectives with the full story. good morning katherine. >> reporter: good morning matt. this victim was stabbed shot, assaulted and robbed. he remains in critical condition at the hospital. there were several witnesses. they were taken here to northwest detectives to be interviewed as police searched for three people they believe are behind this.

they don't have that much of a description but the victim told them that it was two men and one woman that did this to him. this happened in the logan section of the city at sixth and somerville around 11:30 last night. northwest detectives were on the scene investigating for hours collecting evidence. when police got there, they found a man on the sidewalk. he had stab wounds in his back. he was shot at least once in his side. he also had some puncture marks in his face. police rushed him to the hospital. >> while en route to einstein hospital, he was conscious and told responding officers that he was robbed and assaulted and shot. he said that his watch his wallet and cell phone were taken from him. >> reporter: and all three suspects fled east on somerville from sixth street. police haven't said if they believe this victim was targeted for any reason but they want to hear from you if you have any tips. we're live in fern rock, katherine scott, channel6 "action news."

>> okay, thank you for that katherine. it is now 6:04 and philadelphia police are warning people who take cabs to be aware about a serial taxi thief. surveillance video shows the man accused of swiping 12 taxi cabs through west and southwest philadelphia since june 7th. on one occasion, he drove a gunman to a shooting. nearly a week later he used a cab to take three men to a robbery. investigators say the thief may have been a former cab driver himself. police want anybody who takes a cab to make sure that the driver has an i.d. that has that driver's name and photo on it and that they look for the driver's certificate. >> not every cab driver is bad. we just want you to understand that we do have this issue at this point. just pay attention to those two pieces of identification. if they don't have it just don't get in that cab. there are plenty of other cabs out there. >> passengers should also avoid getting into cabs that don't have a dome light or meter running. that equipment can only be turned on with a special swipe card. a former baltimore ravens cheerleader faces up to 15 years in prison for raping a teen boy.

48-year-old molly shattuck entered a guilty plea yesterday. the victim was 15 years old at the time of that encounter. he was a friend of the woman's son. she admits the two had sex while vacationing in bethany beach labor day weekend. shattuck will be sentenced in august. she has to register as a sex offender. >> a window at the camden river sharks stadium crashed to the ground. the glass fell from the second floor of the entrance to the team store yesterday evening. it toppled onto a first floor awning then shattered onto the ground below. no one was injured. it's unclear why the window gave way. >> target is putting a bull's eye on a new spot in center city that you may find a little less to love at the new spot. maribel aber is live at the nasdaq in times square. good morning. >> good morning, tam. target is coming to center city but it won't be a full size storm. it will be called a target express covering two floors with 21,000 square feet of square space. the store will be at 19th and chestnut scheduled to open in july of next year. the price of chicken has

dropped about to the bird flu in the midwest. u.s. chicken exports have been halted so that means there's plenty of supply here in the u.s. in some cases chicken prices are down 33 percent. important the bird flu has hit hens and driven up the price of eggs but the sting it has not hit farms that raise chickens for meat. stocks posted modest gains yesterday as investors await word from the federal reserve on that interest rates. right now futures point to a hire open. a lot of millionaires say they are living paycheck to paycheck. about 20 percent of people with investable assets of 1 million believe they have too much debt and are living check to check. on top of that about half of the affluent people polled are worried they won't have enough income to last through retirement all this according to a survey. that's latest. >> sounds like a spending problem to me. millionaires without enough money. >> i'm crying over here. >> all right, we've got lots of things to offer you for free today. how about storm tracker six

showing us we're dry and it feels comfortable out there. we've got a good looking day. and let's take a look outside right now and show you what's going on. a beautiful day in atlantic city. high today of 75 degrees. down the shore can't beat it, low humidity. you see that bright sunshine out there already. and we'll enjoy lots of early morning sunshine through the region. 71 degrees the current temperature. dewpoints have dropped dramatically. yesterday they were in the 70's, dat 50's, huge change. winds out of the north at eight and the barometric pressure is rising. satellite6 and action radar showing we only had a couple of storms yesterday but what it did was break the heat when that cool front went through. we're seeing clear conditions right now but you see the clouds streaming in from the south and west and some showers. that's going to impact us later on today so let's run it all down for you right now. our high today 84 degrees, nice and comfortable. by 8:00 a.m., 76 and bright sunshine. by 11:00 we're about 82 with sun mixing with clouds. by 2:00 p.m., lots of high clouds and 84 degrees. by 5:00 p.m., 81 and then we get some showers late tonight

and into the overnight hours and future tracker six showing about 1 o'clock in the morning we see rain starting to build in through the overnight hours varying degrees. i think it will be at least showery. by 4:30 in the morning and driving in the morning commute tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. you'll see it's rather wet. you might want to give yourself extra time tomorrow. it all exits around the lunchtime hour. let's take a look at your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. less humid today we're seeing that nice early sunshine followed by increasing clouds. 84 degrees for your high. tomorrow some morning showers and rather cloudy skies and that's going to hold the temperature down to about 77. friday partly sunny skies and 85. it's a nice looking day and low humidity once again on friday. saturday clouds and sunshine, 85. and it looks like we'll see app couple of thunderstorms late in the day. so not terribly wet on saturday at all. on sunday humid for father's day, southamptoner summer arrives. if we get any moisture from the remnants of tropical storm

eastbound direction. it's about 3 miles east of the willow grove interchange 611. the good news is as we fly around you can probably see that the crash right there has been pushed off to the side of the roadway. so all three eastbound lanes are now reopened as you travel between willow grove and bensalem at route one but you can probably also see that the traffic in those three lanes is moving a little bit slowly coming east of 611. so definitely an improving situation. it was a nasty crash but now it's off to the side on the pennsylvania turnpike thanks to chopper 6hd for the images this morning. penndot giving us this image of 95 where a vehicle broke down here on the northbound side by the girard avenue interchange. i know it's a little tough to see but it's still taking out the right lane. however it's the southbound delay of course that's worse headed toward the city now about eight extra minutes as you travel towards center city just with normal morning building volume. some issues in pennsauken. traffic lights on the fritz along 130 both ways at cove road they're blocking the two

left lanes as they fix the lights. in trenton work going on along 29 been abernathy drive and warren street. restrictions until 9:00 this morning. in egg harbor township also construction until further notice on the garden state parkway northbound approaching route 40, 322 the right lane out of commission so keep that in mind if you're down the shore and if you're headed towards dover you'll have some company. you won't be flying because fire fly is back in town this weekend. campgrounds open at noon today. there means basically today through probably about sunday you're going see plenty of traffic along highway one and route 13. tam. >> okay, thank you matt. this is new here on "action news," one of the young shark attack victims in north carolina is now speaking out from his hospital bed. 16-year-old hunter treschl said he was in waste deep water but didn't see the big fish until it was too late. >> i didn't see it coming. like i said i felt it on my leg. and then i saw it when it attacked my arm.

it was out of the water a little bit. >> he lost his arm in that attack. an hour before that a shark also bit a 12-year-old girl just 2 miles away from that scene. she also had to have an arm amputated. she's now in stable condition. and the two men who escaped a maximum security prison from new york state are on the run. authorities are dealing with troubles starting with bad weather. the rain is washing away any possible scent of david sweat and richard matt. meanwhile the prison worker charged with helping the men escape, joyce mitchell, was visited in jail yesterday by her husband. >> big gaming news is released at the electronics entertainment expo in los angeles and that tops today's tech bites. >> in today's tech bites a super mario brothers that you can truly make your own. >> nintendo unveils super mario maker at the e3 expo. it lets players create their own unique game levels. >> a system allows drivers to operate their vehicles by remote control using a smartphone app.

comes to american births. about 53,000 more babies were born in 2014 than the year before. that's a 1 percent increase. births were up for nearly every racial and ethnic group and largest increase in about seven years. there are improvements in several other measures. teen births hit another historic low and there were fewer cesarean sections and preterm deliveries. the nation has been in a baby recession since 2007. a decline that experts have blamed mainly on the nation's economy. >> the golden state warriors celebrating their first nba championship since 1975. the warriors defeated lebron james and the cavaliers 105 to 97 in cleveland in game six last night. steph curry and former sixer andre iguodala scored 25 points a piece. iguodala was voted the m.v.p. of the finals. cleveland continues the longest championship drought of any major sports city, 51 years. >> he went through so much with the sixers, all the ups and downs. glad to see iguodala get that

spend 17 months in prison. prosecutors asked for a longer sentence for omar gonzalez. police arrested gonzalez at the white house in september. his attorney and government lawyers say he has a history of mental health issues. 1500 rats are accident occur i didn't know around a condemned home in michigan. the woman who owns the house in fruit port township calls it christine's critter cafe a rescue for animals. the township ordered it to close in may because of the colony of domestic rats. rats had been dropped off at the rescue then multiply. the other animals that were being cared for 40 rabbits and 18 cats were moved out. >> two boys are being credited with saving two other children from a burning home in florida. flames broke out at the mobile home yesterday morning. 10-year-old isaiah tranny francis and eighty seven-year-old jeremiah grimes say they saw a father throwing water on the fire.

>> i said where is the kids at. he said in the room so i went into the house grabbing the kids. >> the boys rescued two of the children. firefighters pulled two more to safety. two of the victims were taken to the hospital. there's no word on their condition. crews on the scene say they were told the fire started on the stove but investigators now say that does not appear to be true. the state fire marshal is investigating. >> 6:27. meteorologist karen rogers is tracking some brief relief from the heat and humidity. >> the search goes on for the bandits behind a brutal armed robbery and attack. we've got a live update coming up next.

>> bracing for bill. flash flood and tornado warnings remain in place though the storm is quickly losing steam. >> 6:30 on this wednesday. matt pelman joins us along with karen who is filling in for david and she's enjoying the nice weather outside. >> i am enjoying the weather. and you should too because it's beautiful out here. we've got bright beautiful sunshine this morning and much lower humidity. let's take a look at satellite6 and action radar. and you can see that the clouds have cleared nicely. lots of sunshine early today but you see the clouds filling in from the north and the west and that is headed in our direction as well as some showers for the overnight hours. today the dewpoints are way down. they were in the 70's. they're in the 50's now. that means it feels nice and comfortable. humidity is not an issue today. and temperatures have dipped in quakertown. these are new numbers. 59 degrees in quakertown, 61 in saints david's. 62 in chester. a warmer 73 in the city. 62 in browns mills, 65 in glassboro, 66 in dover. really comfortable today with a high of 84 degrees. by 9:00 a.m., 78. by
