black people. >> if you're not safe at church where are you safe. that's the question being asked around the country including right here, katherine scott is live on how local churches are increasing security. good morning katherine. >> reporter: security is a challenge with churches. they want new faces to come in, they want new members but there's a danger associated with that. there are churches like this one in west philadelphia in recent years put security measures in place, some are noticeable, some are behind the scenes. at west philadelphia calvary baptist church thousands come through the door each month. >> we must open the door and accept people in, the difficulty is that some of the some people because of their desperation and strange belief systems may come to do harm. >> reporter: the pastor said

info on the case and the collection of photos and reaction. >> new this morning investigators are looking for the cause of a stubborn house fire in philadelphia. crews were called to the 5600 block of lloyd street in the city's germantown section at 1:00 a.m. they had to cut open the windows to get inside the house once inside they found the house filled with debris. it took firefighters 45 minutes to get the fire under control. no word if anyone was hurt. philadelphia city council passed an assortment of new taxes that will raise money fore the school district. they will get $70 million a year. property taxes will go up 4.5%. the other than of a 150,000-dollar home will see the taxes go up $72 a year. they will use it to close $85 billion budget deficit.
