on the victims shooter and investigation at any time. the defense in the colorado theater shooting trial will begin its case on thursday. prosecutors wrapped up their case after weeks of emotional testimony from victims amid graphic photos and psychiatric interviews. they contend james holmes was not i will when -- ill when he opened fire inside a movie theater. holmes pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. philadelphia police are searching for the gunman in the shooting of the frankford section. investigators say a 50-year-old plan was shot in the alley near his home on the 5700 block of leonard street at 1:00 a.m. he stumbledded home where he collapsed. he was taken to the hospital and later died. there's a historic change to the employment policy of the

>> reporter: o'neill bought the billboard in time for the graduation from leap academy charter school. it will stay up for several weeks. aj was surprised and had mixed emotions. >> i was nervous because i don't like to be put on the spot like that, but at the same time i was happy. >> reporter: o'neill a camden native knew she had to be strict with aj in a city that is plagued with drugs and crime and low graduation rates. still what's next for aj? he plans to be an overachiever, in fact he got accepted into rowan's chemical engineering program and thinking about joining rotc in the fall. >> get up and dance we'll show

eva. >> a somber scene in charleston, south carolina thousands gathered for a prayer vigil in honor of nine people gunned down at emanuel african methodist episcopal church wednesday night. ♪ >> the evening was filled with many powerful moments. charleston mayor joseph riley talked about his friendship with reverend clementa pinkney. he talked about what the community can do to mourn the tragedy, he said first they need to pray and then help. riley announced that a new museum on african-american history will be dedicated to reverend pinkney and all the victims of the shooting. the vigil came hours after the alleged killer appeared in court. dylann roof showed no emotions

in the county jail where's being held in isolation charged with nine counts of murder one for each of the nine people gunned down during a bible study on wednesday night. he was ordered held on 1 million-dollar bond on a separate gun charge. roof's family said they are devastated and saddened and praying for the victims' families. the nine victims of the tragedy was ministers coaches and teachers and librarian and counselor and choir singers. among the murdered was reverend pinkney who has family ties in our area. >> reporter: the turns out the slain pastor of the historic church in charleston was to come to visit mount enon baptist church. he is going to speak to the gong gra -- parishners.

was taken away. there's no word on his condition. the action cam was on the scene of a tractor-trailer crash in bensalem, bucks county. it happened on the eastbound lanes. pennsylvania turnpike at 5:00 a.m. police say the driver lost control which caused the big rig to overturn and land in the are a recent. it caught on fire. the driver was not hurt in the crash, no word on what caused the driver to lose control. one person was injured in a crash on the roosevelt boulevard that also damaged a fire truck. it all began when a car and motorcycle childed in -- collided in the southbound lanes of the boulevard near the ridge avenue exit at 3:00 a.m. a fire truck that responded positioned itself sideways to protect crews on the scene. the tractor-trailer was not able to stop in time and hit the side of the fire truck. nobody was hurt. the passenger in the initial crash was taken to temple

university hospital with minor injuries. businesses along fox street and roberts avenue in hunting park are struggling to get back to normal after a water main break sent water flooding into their stores. the main ruptured thursday after sending customers and workers running for higher grounds. some stores reopened yesterday but others need to higher professional cleaners to dry things out. a corrections officer was placed on administrative lead in connection with the escape of two killers from an upstate new york state prison. richard matt and david sweat consult their way out of the prison. the police say they are in the hunt for the long haul. they are focusing on the wooded area around the prison near the canadian border.

>> police body cam video out of arkansas show one woman's brazen attempt to escape police, she led officers on a high-speed chase and crashed into a fence. officers used handcuffs and leg irons and hobble to restrain her, while police were searching her car she drove off. after a four mile chase she crashed again, she is facing more than a dozen charges. pennsylvania's job growth reached a record level last month despite a small up tick in the unemployment rate. the jobless rate rose 5.4%. survey employers found that seasonably adjusted nonfarm payroll increased for a record 5.86 million.
