across portions of south jersey and the mouth of delaware bay. what we're watching is this guy right here, the remnants. bill that's been over land for three days, we continue to see a well-defined center of circulation. it's holding together nicely and should move into our neck of the woods overnight tonight. there could be a renegade shower or thunderstorm ahead of the activity. for the most part it's a cloudy day. this thunderstorm will not ruin your saturday. it's going to be very hit or miss, pop up variety-type of storms. flood watch goes into effect overnight tonight for the entire area. this is for the remnant of bill and the downpours i'll have more on the forecast when i see you in ten minutes. eva. >> thanks, chris. breaking news, partly of the pennsylvania turnpike remains closed at this hour after this massive truck fire.

the truck was carrying 27,000 gallons of oil. it burst into flames at 7:15 in the eastbound lanes. turnpike in bensalem. police say this was not an accident, the driver noticed a problem and pulled over before the truck burst into flames, fortunately that driver was not hurt. crews were able to put the fire out after 8:00. they are assessing the condition of the road. all eastbound lanes are closed in the area and they remain that way for several hours stay with "action news" an 6abc.com for the very latest. not long before that crash fire crews battled another tractor-trailer driver in bensalem. the driver was getting off the turnpike when the big rig flipped and caught fire on the exit ramp for street road. you can see the debris from the truck scattered along the embankment here. the driver was not hurt, but did

take crews a while to put out the fire. thousands of people of all faiths came together to remember the victims of the cherls -- charleston church shooting. they attended a prayer vigil at the college of charles basketball arena. church leaders told those in attendance they must wrestle of the unspeakable violence that took nine lives but the community must spread the word of god and fellowship. meantime, the alleged gunman, dylann roof is charged with nine counts of murder. he appeared in court for the bond hearing, some of the relatives had a chance to address him when they did, the remarkable happened. they forgave him. >> it hurts me, you hurt a lot of people, but god for gives you

and i for give you. >> reporter: roof's family released a statement saying words cannot express our shock grief and disbelief is to what happened. their thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those killed. one of the victims of the massacre had ties to philadelphia. the wrenched clementa pinkney was due to visit the city in a few weeks. dann cuellar sat down with his aunt. >> reporter: it turns out the slain pastor of the historic church was to come her to visit his aunt's church mount enon. she spoke with us about her nephew the reverend clementa pinkney. >> we can't give up, we still love, no hate we don't want to hate nobody. >> reporter: through her grief she spoke about the devastating evil that took the life of her

nephew along with 8 others in charleston. >> i've known him when he was a small small kid. since i came to philadelphia we stay in touch. we come from a strong family, very strong family. we raise up to god. >> reporter: she said she never would imagine that her nephew would lose his life in such a hate felt way in the house of god and the gunman would sit with the victims for an hour in bible study before pulling the trig e trick -- trigger. the reverend was to visit the mount enon baptist church. the pastor shid there should be

deadly shooting in the city's frankford section. investigators say a 50-year-old man was shot in the alley along 5700 block of leonard street where he stumbled home and collapsed. family members called police. he was taken to the hospital, but later died. big changes are coming to the boy scouts of america, for the first time the group will allow openly gay men to be scouts and leaders in some chapters. wendy saltzman spoke to the president of the cradle of liberty chapter. >> our society is expanding and approving of everyone that's a great idea. >> reporter: the response was overwhelmingly positive as area residents learned more than 500 scouting troops in montgomery county and delaware county will

welcome gay men into their membership. the decision was a long time coming. in 2010, the boy scouts were embattled in the city with philadelphia. a lease was ended claiming the scouts scrim -- discriminated. >> the boy scouts are friend to all and kind to all people. so inclusion of all people, regardless of sexual orientation seems a natural extension of the meaning of words and phrases. >> reporter: they had are a long time policy of none discrimination, but it prevented them from allowing openly gay leaders among their ranks. they allowed the boy scouts to be gay scouts, but not among the

leaders. they thought the policy was not sustainable and needed to be changed. >> inclusion by definition helps every organization. there's no way you can be hurt by that. wendy saltzman channel 6 "action news." >> we're learning new information about the search for the escaped inmates in upstate new york. the two may have been spotted heading toward the pennsylvania border. two men matching the description of david sweat and richard matt were seen a week ago in stuben county new york. they were seen the next day heading toward the pennsylvania border. sweat and matt broke out of prison two weeks ago. a correction officer has been placed on administrative leave as part of the investigation. new at 9:00 an up coming government audit said safety regulators repeatedly failed to hold automakers accountable for safety lapses.

of turnpike in bensalem. police say it was not an accident, they say the driver noticed a problem and pulled over before the truck burst into flames. fortunately that driver was not hurt, but the fire caused significant damage to the roadway. again, the eastbound lanes in bensalem will likely remain closed for an extended period of time. dry with "action news" and 6abc.com for the very latest. an early-morning fire damaged a house in springfield township, delaware county. schools arrived to flames shooting from the house at 6:45 a.m. everyone got out. firefighters got the fire under control in less than a half-hour. philadelphia police are investigating two overnight crashes that damaged a fire truck and sent a woman to the hospital. it started when a car and motorcycle collided on roosevelt boulevard in the city's tioga nights town section around # a.m.

police and firefighters responded not long after a tractor-trailer slammed into the side of the fire truck nobody was hurt in that crash. but a woman involved in the first accident was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. police say the motorcycle i also ran from the scene -- motorcyclist ran from the scene. we have new details about the charleston church shooter. some say he was an outspoken black racist, but some say he was not that at all. >> reporter: dylann roof walked into the charlie ton church with a premeditated plafn to kill. >> my -- plan to kill. >> my mission to bring justice to the victims of the community. >> reporter: it was the worst case of a deadly attack on a house of worship in u.s. historical. he joined bible study and prayed

before the alleged attack. owe called him a loner who advocated for segregation and talked openly of his hatred of black people. >> he wanted to spark a race war. >> reporter: police say among those who ultimately helped identify roof in surveillance photos his own father and uncle. that sungle telling abc news he would -- that same uncle telling abc news he would push the button himself if his nephew who is behind bars in a south carolina jail receives the death penalty. >> heavy rains and swollen rivers made a mess in oklahoma. the floodwaters washed away a historic bridge in manslaughterville. the bridge was -- mansville. the bridge was in bad need of
