extra congestion northbound with folks coming back from the shore later, tam. this morning we're starting with breaking news, the search is on for a gunman who wounded two people who were sitting in the car in philadelphia overnight. let's go over to "action news" reporter, katherine scott she is live outside hanheman university hospital. she's got the latest details good morning katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam the motive remains under investigation, we know two people were hit inside hanheman being treated. you can see the car they were in is parked outside hanheman's emergency room surrounded by crime scene takes place detectives and philadelphia police are on the scene investigating. there are bullet holes in the door and ascertain drivers side window sue -- the drivers side wood is shot out. it happened at 11th street and west dial. police say someone opened fire on the car that the two men were hit. one got out of the car and ran

to his nearby home, a woman drove him to the hospital. the other man drove himself to the hospital in the shot-out car. it was parked outside, the police located the car and the two men are inside getting treatment. we don't know what the motive is here the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. we are live at hanheman university hospital. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." on "action news" this morning, police in delaware rescued a man from a vehicle that got stuck on railroad traction. cfx freight train barreled into the vehicle. the elderly driver got stuck on the tracks while trying to make a turn on west main street. two officers were working a paled job at the deer park tavern. the officers ran to the vehicle and pulled the driver to the safety. accident investigators will return to the scene later this

morning. crews in south jersey are looking for a serial pharmacy robber. take a look at the surveillance images they showed a man at centerville road, he used a crowbar and held a customer hostage stealing objectiony -- oxycod. oxycodone. peco crews detected a strong odor coming from the chesterfield apartments on veteran's highway. the red cross opened a shelter on green lane for the nearly 200 people displaced. delegates of city and church leaders arrived in rome this morning.

and clouds, i think it's a sunscreen day both at the shore and at the pool today. as we look at philadelphia, sun and clouds, fair amount of sunshine out there overall. less and less humid as the day goes on, hot high of 91. cool drinks important as we get into the afternoon. 77 by 8:00. 84 by 11:00. the high of 91 probably late in the day around 4:00. back to 89 by 5:00 p.m. tomorrow things change we see the winds turn around from the southwest again, as a frontal boundary comes in from the west we get the southwesterly flow, so it's going to be hotter and more humid again tomorrow and then in the afternoon, probably later in the afternoon we'll start to see the thunderstorms by 1:00, dive down into the region by 4:00, 5:00 p.m. and tomorrow afternoon we're looking at potential of strong thunderstorms lingering into the mid evening hours tomorrow late day early evening.

the pillow in the toilet flooding his cell. the water was supposed to be turned on at mealtime. the jail's chief deputy was suspended for 30 days without pay and two corrections deputies resign. a teenager in ocean county was killed after a stone slap fell on him. his body was found saturday at a business in berkeley township. it is believed the 17-year-old was walking between large slabs of gravel and granite when he got trapped. it's unclear how long his body was there. phillies play tonight, cole hamels will take to the mound wednesday. adam morgan won his debut yesterday. they beat the calendar analysis 9-2.

>> welcome back on this monday morning, 75 degrees, sky6 live hd taking a live look from our temple university camera at center city. it's a gray out there, should not be too bad of a day it's hot though, and hotter tomorrow. a fire in san bernadino forest has grown to 17,000 acres. only 19% contained. the blaze broke out wednesday. more than 1800 firefighters are working to protect buildings and homes and 500 buildings are in the path of the fire. campers have been evacuated and hiking trails closed. >> in the morning buzz, nydia i'm always amazed at the things who make it into the world

record. this is off the coast of huntington beach in california. they got a surf board that big and 66 people on it. they stayed aboard for 12 seconds. this breaks a record that was set a decade ago in queensland australia when they had 47 surfers stay up for ten seconds. when you have 66 people on the board it is pretty impressive. >> can you imagine waxing that thing. ten people including three children are recovering after a shooting at a block party. >> police continue the hunt for the two inmates who escaped from a maximum security prison. we'll give you the latest when "action news" comes right back.
