philadelphia and police just released the suspect's photo and new debate in the development of the confederate flag. where it is being removed from stores. and the big story on "action news" is the extreme heat and humidity hanging over the state right now. >> we are also at risk from potentially strong afternoon thunderstorms. david murphy is tracking the latest from the big board. >> we have the two issues the heat and we'll talk about that in a moment and thunderstorm chance, we had some in the appointment but nothing else on the map right now. out to the west of us in centsral pennsylvania a couple of small showers popping up that could develop into thunderstorms and a cluster of strong storms on the other side of state college, that has a thunderstorm warning in effect here it is a thunderstorm watch this has been posted within of the last hour, it goes up at 7:00

tonight the big concern is the poconos and lehigh valley and reading and all wait to the shore from atlantic city north, not included for now the state of delaware and the new jersey counties that seidel up to the delaware bay they could produce downpours and strong winds. future tracker 6 shows you from now until 2:00 this could pop down to the delaware and lehigh valley and bucks and montgomery and perhaps mercer county as well and 4:00 it looks like unfortunately between 4:00 and 6:00, our most heavily traveled roadways along the i-95 corridor and that should slow things down for the evening commute, by 6:00 most of the this is shifting to the other side of the delaware river and by 8:00, 8:30 most of this is off the coast and things should calm down and dry out and

in terms of specific threats the main numbers are lightning and downpours but some storms may act you up and give us strong gusty winds. large hail less of a problem, while i have tornadoes listed as low, there is chatter on some weather service websites that an isolate the tornado is not out of the question, the better chance is farther north to new york state. i say if i hear thunder i'm heading inside. the other thing is the heat advisory up until 6:00, heat index making it feel as hot as 100 and more in some spots. temperatures in the upper 80s in some places but because of the high humidity it feels like 97 in philadelphia and 103 in dover, yes summer has arrived in philadelphia. when i come back we'll talk about when this hot pattern breaks be the various problems we could have with this storm.

from second degree assault to second degree murder. freddie gray died back in april after suffering a spinal cord injury while in police custody. philadelphia police are looking for a driver involved in a hit and run that left a man in critical condition last night. they recovered the suspect vehicle a few blocks away from the crash. john rawlins is live in frankford where investigators are pursuing new leads in the case. >> reporter: hi sara, police are hoping to locate the vehicle's owner in the hopes that he could shed light on who may have been behind the wheel last night. in the men time, a 55-year-old man is in critical condition at temple hospital. >> 10:30 last night on east airy 55-year-old bicycle julio torres was traveling westbound when he was truck by a red pickup truck the male gets out and checks on the bicyclist, and

37-year-old he is charged with assaulting a girl at the north philadelphia grocery store where he worked. detectives say they have surveillance video of him putting his hand up the teenager's skirt last night. police are looking for the begun gunman that opened fire in kensington yesterday afternoon three crick victims were children grazed by bullets and police have recovered a shotgun but they are not sure if it was the weapon used in the shooting. one person was air-lifted to the hospital following this accident in burlington county and the driver lost control in the northbound lanes of i-295 in mansfield township the vehicle left the road and slammed into a tree in the woods and we are working to find out the driver's condition, today organizers of the world meeting of families revealed new details about the pope's visit to philadelphia

everybody gets the worst of it you could get a driving downpour and perhaps strong gusty winds and we are getting closer to philadelphia and heavy traveled areas and then right at the rush hour 4:00 through 6:00, it looks like it has a chance of slowing you down near the most traveled roadways by 95 and 295 tonight it looks like it dies down, but along the way we are looking for potential of drenchers and the storm prediction center has it painted orange and this mean a 30% chance of a thunderstorm that could produce thunderstorms and wind gusts to bring down trees and wires, that is a possibility of thunderstorms in some neighborhoods and maybe hail. and there is a concern of an isolated tornado, i mentioned that the upper level support for this is better in the poconos and new york state and new england, but the mention of this
