>> good morning, it is 6:00 a.m., saturday, june 27 here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." philadelphia police are investigating a pedestrian accident that sent a teenager to the hospital. one of the two inmates who escaped from an upstate new york prison is dead. the hunt for the second escapee is intensifying. a warning for americans one day after a deadly terror attack in three countries. let get a look at the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast first, chris sowers. we have seen flash flooding overnight. >> reporter: if you have a plan b. today will be a miserable day for anything you're doing out

there. we're expecting rain and clouds and gusty thunderstorm. rainfall totals when all is said and done with this particular system it could rain one to two inches. philadelphia has seen over 6 inches of rain since june 1, if all goes according to plan, you'll see another two inches. national weather service issued a flood watch that goes into effect this afternoon and into sunday morning for philadelphia and all areas to the west. double scan live we have moisture pushing across the western suburbs now the lighter shades of green, a lot of this is light brief passing showers sprits or sprinkle. notice we pick up the heavier rain this afternoon. the day planner looks like, you can see it steadily goes downhill. 9:00 a.m., 70 degrees, 72 in the afternoon. periods of rain and heavy at times the possibility of flash

flooding and the possibility of gusty thunderstorms. 73 degrees that's the forecasted high this afternoon. when i come back in a few minutes, we'll talk about this, the storm prediction center i should an enhance the risk fair for parts of the area, delaware and extreme southwestern portions of cumberland and salem county. i'm have the details in the seven day when i see you in a bit. >> the flash flooding created dangerous driving conditions on the schuylkill expressway overnight. the action cam found cars wading through waves of water. traffic came to a stop, penndot crews cleaned the storm drains to prevent additional ponding on the roads. new this morning, a teenager is recovering after being hit by a car in north philadelphia. it happened after 10:30 on in order broad street near the intersection of oxford street. initial reports is that the girl is 14 years old. the injuries are serious but

not life threatening. the car stayed at the scene. the southbound lanes of rhawn street were shut down while police investigated. one escaped convict is dead and this morning the authorities are searching for the other. for weeks rich armed matt and david sweat have been on the run from police after escaping from a maximum security prison in upstate new york. sweat is still out there and authorities think he is armed and growing desperate. elizabeth hur has the latest from new york. >> reporter: after thousands of officers searched hundreds of miles of dense terrain for three weeks, the border patrol somewhat -- swat teem shot richard matt near the canadian border friday afternoon. >> the person towing the camper, they believed the camper was shot. when they pulled into the

campsite they examined the trailer they were towing, realized thrferlts -- there was a bullet hole in the back of the camper. >> the s.w.a.t team came upon mr. matt engaged mr. matt who was armed and he was shot and killed. >> reporter: official confirmed the second fugitive david sweat is still out there. the manhunt intensified after a woman reported getting a suspicious knock on the door. police responded and dogs picked you mean the scent which led law enforcement to a second burglarized cabin. >> sweat is still out there, he is considered dangerous we'll continue to look for him and search just as hard until we find him. any kind of sightings don't approach dial 911 or the tip line. >> reporter: police say from day

one, officials assumed the two were armed and police recovered a shotgun after matt was shot. jah johnson is telling people to be watchful after the attack in kuwait. he said attend 4th of july events as planned but observe any suspicious activity. a government official said a shooter was a young student not previously known. he killed 39 people. he was shot and killed by police. the islamic state has taken credit for the attacks the worst ever on to a -- too

tunisian soil. a bomber behind from the islamic state is behind the bombing in iraq. at least 27 people were killed and scores more wounded. authorities in france say four people are in custody in connection with an attack on an american-owned gas factory with ties to the lehigh valley. they say man rammed a vehicle into an air products factory triggering an explosion that hurt two people. the servered head of the driver's employer was left at the entrance of the factory. air products is headquartered in upper macungie township. here at home, a septa police officer was accused of using too much force while

holding his daughter. he is seen grabbing him by the neck and pushing against a rail car. the man was holding his daughter. the officer approached the man about not payinged fare. septa didn't name the officer but i had said he was a 16 year veteran with no complaints. >> penn state confirmed a pair of cyber attacks on the computer system. the hack compromised user names and passwords in the liberal arts department. faculty and staff are asked to update their log ins. the attacks were discovered in early may and might have going on since march. friends an family will gather this morning at emanuel ame church to remember cynthia herd. services will be held for two

friendly. it plans to vest a billion dollars over the next 15 years to do so. they plan to make the packaging more sustainable. in a statement the company said a little bit of change can go a long way to reduce its impact on the planet. facebook rose 3% this week making it worth more than walmart, the nation's biggest retailer. walmart is the largest company when it comes to total sales but thanks to facebook it's no longer among the top ten most valuable companies in the s&p 500 index. chocolate lovers brace yourselves your favorite treat could cost more, bad weather has cut into cocoa supply. the price has been pushed up 40%, last summer, several major brands raised their prices 8%

diverting drivers. breaking news, firefighters on the scene of a massive fire that heavily damaged a corner grocery store and apartment in philadelphia's wynnfield section. the action cam on the scene of the 1800 block of north 54th street. the blaze broke out at 2:30. this is a grocery store with apartments above you can see flames shooting out of the window. >> one firefighter was transported with an ankle injury to the hospital. five families were evacuated. >> it took crews 2 1/2 hours to bring the fire under control. the red cross is teeming up with power companies to offer assistance to people still in the dark from the storm. atlantic city electric is offering water at kingsly high school 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

it's the hardest hit county in new jersey. in pennsylvania, the most peco outages are in delaware county. more than ten thousand people are off line. 6 people are recovering this morning after a fire at the graterford prison in montgomery county. a small fire was reported in a cell around 7:00 p.m. investigators are looking into whether it was started by an inmate. 6 were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, it's believed they are corrections officers. police have identified the suspects wanted in a shooting in west philadelphia. they are lamar and harvey. they opened fire on street. >> the one-year-old victim has

>> new this morning, camden police are searching for a gunman after a double shooting. this video is into the newsroom. the shooting happened in a home on the 1100 block of landsdown avenue. a man was hit several times and the woman is shot in the leg. they are in the their 20s the woman is in stable condition but the man is in critical. at this point there's no word on a motive and no arrests have been made. it is now 6:43, the next time you go to disney, leave the selfie stick at home. all four disney theme parks in

rainfall totals ranging anywhere from 1 to 2 inches with isolated heavier amounts west of philadelphia. we're expecting the heaviest to arrive between 2:00 p.m. and midnight. gusty thunderstorms possible for areas to the south. the state of delaware, as you can see the extreme southwestern tip of south jersey that's called an enhanced risk by the storm bricks center, the probability is much higher, seeing a gusty thunderstorm with winds potentially up to 60 miles per hour that's later this afternoon. the poconos washout today rain, maybe flooding. 62 degrees is the forecasted high for sunday, mostly cloudy skies, maybe a little bit of sunshine. 66 degrees is the forecasted high for sunday. down the jersey shore we have appear moderate risk for rip currents as the winds whipping up this afternoon, 20 to 30 miles per hour out of the easterly direction winds afternoon rain, high of 78 on
