great cause. but the big story on "action news" tonight is a day of rain and downpours could turn heavier in the hours ahead. this wet weather comes after a week that brought intense storms damage and power outages around the region. meteorologist melissa magee is keeping an eye on both a tornado watch and flood watch tonight. she has latest with storm tracker six live double scan radar, melissa. >> we will start with that tornado watch that has been issued for kent county in delaware. watch stays up until 8:00 o'clock tonight. dover you are included and that tornado watch. what we are tracking is a warm front that will lift to the north and as it does so there is possibility of finding some rotation, with any thunderstorm that does move on through. isolated tornado cannot be ruled out this evening especially, south of philadelphia across central and southern delaware. here's storm tracker six live double scan radar. the rain is inundating much of the delaware and lehigh val which stronger pockets in south jersey but i do wanting

to in tighter on street level with storm tracker six live double scan and you can see along that i-95 corridor from trenton into philadelphia and wilmington we are dealing with moderate pockets of rainfall. same thing traveling to the north of the sit a long i-76 to the north of moorestown and jenkintown, we are dealing with moderate pockets of moisture that will continue as we go throughout the rest of tonight. so flood watch stays up through philadelphia, western suburbs, in pennsylvania, and it is up until 5:00 o'clock on sunday morning and also included in that flood watch northern sections of delaware. we can find 2 inches of rainfall. we will look at what we can expect for the rest of tonight, heavier rainfall moving in right now will continue until 10:00 o'clock tonight. rainfall from an inch to 2 inches or higher amounts than that. gusty shower or severe storm south of the city across extreme southern delaware, and it will be windy at the coast with the coastal flood warning and flood watch issued. coming up, sarah we have future tracker six on stand by

and time out precipitation and let you know what follows for second half of the weekend with the accu weather seven day. >> melissa, thank you. just as power was restored for many people, today's storms may have knock even more off line. too day's outage numbers are up from yesterday. peco says more than 9500 people are now without power and pse&g had less than a hundred outages last night but today that number has grown to more than 3200. atlantic city electric is still a trouble spot, with 32,000 people, still in the dark. for those atlantic city electric customers it has been a rough week trying to deal without power for days now. "action news" reporter trish hartman is at a high school in gloucester county where residents got much needed help today, trish? >> reporter: well, that is right, sarah volunteers have been out here since 8:00 this morning giving out ice water for people who have been without power since tuesday. red cross officials say hundreds of people have been out here today and many

people are getting frustrated. >> she said her home on lincoln drive-in gloucester township has been without power since the storm hit tuesday. >> we cannot cook, we have had to order take out i can't you know, use anything electrical. at night we live by candles. >> reporter: hundreds of dollars of food in the trash now they are using a few coolers with ice to get by. she and her neighbors in gloucester county say they called atlantic city electric daily looking for updates. >> the ticket is out on the street and when they get to it, they will get to it. that is no the good enough. >> reporter: gary smith says the storm did $21,000 in damage to his roof and damage but more frustrating coming home to a dark house. one family says they have been like camping in their own house. on thursday they decided to go buy a generator but that is costing them 50 doll are a day in gasoline. >> i cannot understand how the whole neighborhood has power

and maybe eight houses don't have power. it doesn't make sense. >> reporter: ac electric spokesperson says hundreds of crews are working to restore power and fixing equipment that will bring home homes back on line first. individual homes or small groups without power, like this one will take sometime. >> and all they can did is tell thaw tomorrow night at 11:59, miraculously we will have light at the end of mize tunnel. >> reporter: atlantic city electric officials hope to have all of their customers back on line, tomorrow, by monday at the latest. back here at king's way regional high school volunteers will be out here until 8:00 o'clock tonight giving out ice and water to people without power and red cross officials say they will continue to do so as long as they're needed. we are live in woolwich township tonight trish hartman for channel six "action news". >> trish, thank you. this evening's rain is impacting what was supposed to be a big night at penns landing. a concert by united states army band has been canceled.

"action news" weather team keeps you up to date with the very latest information. in other news tonight a woman was killed and a man badly injured in the crash in claymont delaware today. it happen shortly after 7:00 a.m. at intersection of naamans road and darling road. police say 56 year-old deborah, was traveling through that intersection when another driver ran a red light and slammed into the side of her car. she was pronounced dead at the scene. her passenger, three two-year old anthony bagnone was rushed to christiana hospital in critical condition they were not wearing seat belts. the investigation into the cause of this crash continues tonight. police in camden, new jersey are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and a woman injured. it happened just before

5:00 a.m. in the 1100 block of landsdowne avenue. both victims were rushed to cooper university hospital where the man was pronounced dead. no arrests have been made. a fire fighter was injured, battling this blaze in wynfield this morning. fire fighters were called to the 1800 block of north 54th street at 2:30 a.m. they found heavy smoke from the grocery store. fire spread to adjoining apartments the five families inside were able to get out okay. there is no word on how the fire fighter was injured exactly, but he was transported to lankanol hospital. investigators are now working to determine a cause of the fire. a unique store opened its doors in south philadelphia today, this stories run by habitat for humanity and it offers gently used items at a deep discount. in return, the proceeds are used to build houses for people who need them. >> reporter: hey there sarah. this is an amazing showroom they have in their new location in south philadelphia. take a look behind me you can see volunteers, employees straightening up after what has been a busy weekend already, they have been more than $40,000 and all of that money goes to a great cause. habitat for humanity knows a thing or two about building and fixing up homes. the new restore holds bargains for do it yourselfers and in turn helps the organizations fulfill their original mission. >> all of the profits from the restore go to helping us build and repair homes. we have built 184 homes this year we will will build 15 homes and repair a hundred. >> reporter: joyce collins came down from germantown before doors opened to donate. >> i know that people need supplies like i do at times and i'm sure somebody can use one of the doors that i'm bringing back. instead of throwing it in the trash somebody can use it at their house. >> reporter: gross family from olney is in the middle of a major home renovation. >> it is a give/give

new york state police and other agencies, are keeping up the search forest scape prisoner david sweat. they focused on a 22 square mile area today. their efforts came a day after the sexes scapee richard matt was shot and killed by law enforcement. matt's body has been taken to the albany medical center for an autopsy. world news saturday will have the latest on the search for david sweat coming up at 6:30 that is following "action news". philadelphia police got a few more guns off the street, today, people could turn in weapons, no questions asked at this gun buy back at engine 38 in tacony today. in return they received a $50 super market gift card. residents of hunting park spent their saturday sprucing up the neighborhood. volunteers including several children grabbed their brooms, dustpans to clean up the 3400 block of f street. neighbors say keeping their streets looking good, helps to keep them safe as well.

the field you talk to the players or the press and anybody you have to keep a positive frame of mind. >> it is tough to stay positive right now. sixers first round pick jahlil okafor said he watched the nba finals on abc and he envisions himself getting there one day with the sixers. he may only be 19 but he won a title with duke and he want to bring one here too. he is excited to be a sixers and denies his agent told gm sam hinkie not to draft him third. there are a ton of expectations but okafor says the spectations he puts on himself are higher then what anyone else can put on him. >> as i told you, we will make the playoffs. i will get to meet the teammates ande what their goals are, as well but individually, i want to do the best that i can and work as hard as i can and try to make this team better. >> while okafor is the big guy with the big name sixers introducing a few second round

rain and storms over the past few days meant changes for a sprint triathlon in fairmount park. competitors in the johnson and johnson tri rock philadelphia triathlon were kept out of the river, instead racers competed in a run bike, run event. the swim portion for tomorrow's olympic distance race has also been, canceled. tough conditions, out there, melissa still raining here tonight flood watches on the board and a lot going on. >> really we have a lot going on. sun watch tornado watch coastal flood advisory has been issued. lets talk about what is going on with storm tracker six live double scan radar. you can see heavy pockets of moisture currently across delaware and lehigh valley. this will continue as we go

throughout the rest of the early half of tonight. we will go in tighter on street level with storm tracker six along that i-95 corridor. maryland rate pockets from trenton down to philadelphia into wilmington and then we move south into new jersey along jersey turnpike, south of woodbury, we have moderate pockets. same thing for areas on i-76 traveling south of moorestown and jenkintown at this hour. another pocket have of moderate rainfall across south jersey from speedwell down to hammington, even across atlantic county. you can see in west ward into dover, where dover is currently underneath that tornado watch until 8:00 o'clock this evening. it looks like it is fairly active across our region. here's that flood advisory that has been posted, it is for philadelphia county, new castle county, chester montgomery county and for cities like atlantic city, millville, wildwood, west ward into lancaster county. the advicery stays up until 9:30 tonight. some locations have already seen up to an inch of

rainfall. as far as severe showers and storms that were tracking, storm prediction center has placed most of our region in the low probability have of finding severe weather but moderator enhanced risk or probability of finding stronger showers and storms across northern delaware and also across central delaware which is where dover we are underneath that tornado watch. best dynamic for finding any rotation is down across delaware and more specifically southeastern sections of virginia. rainfall, we have seen so far this is just beginning three-quarters of an inch for pottstown. same thing in the poconos .40 and lancaster. .66 in atlantic city. .32 in philadelphia here's the other part of the story to day we are dealing with heavy rain heavy moisture but it is quite cool. we have wind coming in from a easterly direction off the atlantic. that easterly fetch does a couple things. it gives us cooler than average temperatures. it is 65 in philadelphia. fifty-three in the poconos. it is helping to stabilize the atmosphere for the city and

points to the north which is why stronger showers and storms look to be well south of philadelphia mainly south of our viewing area as well. here's satellite six with action radar. there is area of low pressure we are tracking. it is currently over ohio and this moisture continues to work its way eastward with you a warm front will lift to the north later tonight and where ever that warm front sets up is where we have better shot finding rotation and strong showers, and thunderstorms if not some severe activity as well. future tracker six times out preup istation, yeah, it was a wash out today and will continue to be a wash out tonight. 8:00 o'clock you could see rain heavy at cross most locations. it continues at midnight and especially during the overnight hours. 7:00 o'clock on sunday morning that moisture is starting to depart to our north and east, and cloud will break for some sunshine late in the day on sunday. as far as expected rainfall, if you are west of philadelphia you can easily find two plus inches of moisture but for the city, points to the south and east one to 2 inches of rainfall.
