memorial bridge southbound construction at this early hour. >> escaped killer david sweat is hospitalized in critical condition after being shot by police in upstate new york. we are learning more about the take down and the run from the other escaped killer who did not survive. katherine scott has the latest information live from the satellite center. >> reporter: that's right, matt, sweat was captured after being shot by a state trooper yesterday. else in the hospital in critical condition, a lot of relief now that the search is over. the manhunt is overin upstate new york. escaped convict david sweat was caught yesterday after a mile and a half from the canadian border. governor cuomo was met with applause on sunday.

new york state police say the take down happen when sergeant jay cook was on routine patrol in the small town of constable. sweat started running concerned he would disappear into the woods, cook opened fire hitting sweat in the torso. police believe sweat and matt were together recently, both men were captured by the photo taken by a trail camera on wednesday. dna found on a pepper shaker. >> we believe possibly these two males were using pepper to throw the scent off the dogs. a lot of questions remain, investigators plan to talk to sweat eventually, but again he remains in critical condition. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> okay katherine, thank you for that. >> a man is in critical condition after shooting in philadelphia's port richmond section, it happened before

11:30 on the 30,000 block of frank ford avenue. the 20-year-old victim was shot in the abdomin. he ran to a nearby takeout beer store where he was found. the suspect fled in a grand marquis. police found the vehicle on tulip street. the two men inside the car were taken into question. >> the entire shooting was captured on private surveillance cameras. the cameras showing the victim getting shot and running into the beer takeout store. >> so far police have not made any arrests. atlantic city electric crews are working trying to get the power back on for thousands of people. the customers have been waiting and venting for nearly a week. >> reporter: in 2010 when sandy left a wake of destruction along

who escaped from a prison in north carolina has been recaptured. tips led to christopher mcneil last night. he escaped the davidson county jail on saturday. 33 kendra miller has been charged with helping mcneil break free. she is a prison employ who worked with mcneil in the kitchen. they reportedly had sexual relationship. new overnight police arrested a man who stole a hearse. he drove through a fence and through the morgue entrance. he ditched the hearse and carjacked a ford explorer that pulled up behind him at a traffic light. the funeral home that obese the hearse moved the body to another vehicle. sean diddy combs made headlines, the rapper fell on stage while performing at the
