beginning to build in over the terrace. take a look at satellite and you can see that cloud cover getting thicker especially west of philadelphia and some of it now forming overhead. there are also some showers out to the west that could develop into some thunderstorms by the time they get here late this morning and then in through the afternoon and evening. 69 degrees is the current temperature in philadelphia. 67 degrees in wilmington. 64 in allentown. 70 in sea isle city on the boardwalk. notice how the wind is coming in just very gently out of the south and that is bringing in slightly higher humidity as we roll through the day. 69 right now on your storm tracker six app. by 8 o'clock about 71. then the afternoon does look warm and a little bumpy. 81 by noon. 86 is your high today with higher humidity than yesterday at 3 o'clock. and then by 6 o'clock, 81 and again through in particular the afternoon and into the early evening there is the chance of some showers and perhaps a gusty thunderstorm in some neighborhoods that could produce heavy downpours and those strong winds so you want to take cover from any storm that forms today and they'll be spotty but where they hit they could be

memorable. karen rogers we have continued humidity and some more unsettled weather later in the seven day. i'll check that out coming up. >> all right, never find driving in those storms. so later on that's going to be an issue but not this morning. looking good on 95 approaching cottman. southbound traffic a little heavy approaching cottman and again approaching girard but a 16 minute ride from the woodhaven to the vine is over all no problems nice and clear right here on the vine street expressway. maybe slowing a little bit ahead as you approach the schuylkill but for the most part looking good and the construction has cleared on the 59 vin in both directions as -- on the vine in both directions. we have a couple things going on. tonight at 7 o'clock a performance at the mann and the phils play at 7:05. watch for extra congestion. west philadelphia 52nd street remains closed near westminster. this accident in monroeville gloucester county just cleared. traffic moving better monroeville at ridgewood road but we have problems with last week's storms. they continue to do emergency road work in newark.

up are pike creek road shut down near route two. stick to polly drummond road as your alternate. matt. >> a doubling shooting left a man and pregnant woman wounded. doctors were unable to save her baby. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live near the scene in the city's west oak lane section. katherine. >> reporter: that's right, matt, police say this woman was four months pregnant. she lost her baby after being shot here last night. a man police believe is her boyfriend and that baby's father remains in the hospital in stable condition. she is in critical condition and when police arrived here around 10 o'clock last night they found her sitting in the front seat of a car that had been parked right over there on the 7300 block of thouron avenue. the 32-year-old woman had been shot in her lower back. a 46-year-old man had been lying on the sidewalk shot multiple times in his legs. witnesses told police they heard some sort of argument then gun shots. at least four were fired. pleasable the shooting happened outside the... police

believe the shooting happened outside the car. after the shooting they believe the woman got in the front seat. >> she's presently in critical condition. it's unknown whether she'll survive her injuries. she was immediately taken to surgery due to the fact that not only was she shot but the fact she was pregnant. >> reporter: and two men fled the scene but so far police don't have a detailed description of them. they want to hear from you if you have any tips. they did tow away that vehicle that the woman had been sitting in. they're going to search that to see if they can find any evidence. we're live in west oak lane, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> thank you katherine. homicide detectives continue to search for clues in the gruesome murder of an 85-year-old woman inside her philadelphia home. regina brunner was found in her bedroom on rumford road in east mount airy yesterday. police say someone beat her stabbed her multiple times and slit her throat. there was no sign of forced entry. authorities are also searching for brunner's silver 2007 toyota corolla which was missing from her garage. >> it is 6:04 and triple digit

temperatures are making a fire fight really hard in washington state. right now it's only 10 percent contained. dozens of homes and businesses are destroyed and evacuation orders are in place. let's go over to erin o'hearn. she's got the latest from our satellite center. good morning erin. >> reporter: good morning, tam. this does appear to be the wild west right now t as you mentioned scorching temperatures high winds are making this an extremely difficult fight. now, this all started back on sunday when residents of several hundred homes fled when a blaze erupted outside wenatchee and quickly spread out of control. the flames destroyed 24 structures including houses. embers from the fire reached businesses sparking industrial fires sending thick black toxic smoke into the downtown area. fortunately there were no reports of serious injuries as fire burned four square miles east of seattle. >> embers were going if one house to another catching the roofs on fire.

>> you grab your family. >> kids. >> kids and our animals. >> stayed with friends across the wenatcheee river and watched this area burn all night. the governor has issued an emergency proclamation which allows quick use of state resources to fight the wildfires. now, the cause of the fires still remain under investigation. we're live in the sat center, erin o'hearn, channel6 "action news." tam back to you. >> erin thank you for that. and the 12th lawsuit has been filed in the wake of the crash of an amtrak train in philadelphia on may 12th. the family of maryland businessman robert gildersleeve jr. filed a wrongful death lawsuit yesterday accusing amtrak of negligence and outrageous behavior. the ntsb still hopes to learn why an engineer was going more than 100 miles an hour in a 50 miles an hour zone. >> uncertainty is back on wall street and you can thank greece and also maybe the u.s. commonwealth of puerto rico. stacey delikat is in for maribel aber and has details.

>> reporter: good morning matt. it's not just the crisis in greece. now word that porter wreak is facing its own if this crisis. the market suffered with the worst drop of the year with all of the uncertainty. the nasdaq lost 2.4 percent. futures are pointing to a hire open. reports on home prices and consumer confidence due out today. banks banks are still closed in greece as the country moves closer to bankruptcy. residents have been limited to about $66 in cash withdrawals from atm's per day. the greek government could default as early as today if it misses an almost 2 billion-dollar payment to the international monetary fund. next week the country will vote on economic proposals from greece's european partners. the government is urging voters to reject this plan. some good news here at home. the 99 percent finally saw their incomes grow. family income was up

3.3 percent after inflation last year in 2014 according to data from a university of california professor. it was the first meaningful gain in family income in 15 years. now, posting the top 1 percent of owners in the u.s. did even better posting income growth of almost 11 percent or triple the gains of everyone else. by the way took about $420,000 to make it into the 1 percent. matt and tam. >> all right, stacy, thanks so much. >> dave murphy joins us now. >> yeah. >> could be a little stormy later. >> could be. >> storm tracker6 live double scan right now shows you that we're dry. we've got a couple of showers and maybe a future thunderstorm up north of harrisburg with that shooting up toward really north of the poconos and toward new york state. okay for now. as we take a look outside we have cloud cover beginning to sweep over the region but there is some early sunshine and some brightness over on the eastern horizon. temperatures currently aren't bad. 69 in philadelphia, 67 in wilmington, 64 up in allentown

allentown. 62 in trenton. low 70's along the boardwalks at this hour and humidity maybe if you really move around you can feel it's a little bit stickier but so far with the clouds overhead none big blading sun it feels okay. as we go through the morning the clouds are going to get thicker and then after about 11:00 or maybe noon there is the chance of some shower activity to begin to develop in the western and northern areas. allentown might see some of this. i think the better chance is out to the west and there might even be some downpours beginning to develop as the air is a little more humid. then we go from noon to 3 o'clock and not only do we get showers but perhaps some thunderstorms building in during the afternoon some of which could also produce drenching downpours along with residual lightning and some of these could produce gusty winds as well. as we go into 6 o'clock the model wants to suppress most of this to the north and west but i'm still going to allow for additional activity in closer to philadelphia and later in the evening hours looks like most of this dies down but even as late as

11 o'clock cecily tynan may have something to show you on storm tracker six. the risks from the storms today are primarily lightening that's pretty much always the case and also downpours because the air mass is moist anyone up a little bit. i'm going give you a moderate chance of strong winds and that's only because not every cell will necessarily develop that but i do think there's a chance some of these storms are strong and gusty the bottom line once again head indoors to the lower floors if you see the skies getting threatening or if you hear a rumble of thunder. fairly low chance of large hail and a tornado but the storm prediction center today is not totally ruling that out for the midatlantic states and that would include our region. so, head indoors for those storm. warm and humid, an afternoon thunderstorm possible in the lehigh valley. 80 degrees is the high there. down the shore an extra problem. there probably won't be as big a threat of rain down the shore today but rip currents are an issue in the water. the ocean temperature in the low 70's i'm concerned that we

could have some swimmers really wanting to go in there. make sure you swim only by the lifeguards and follow their directions. 86 is today's high. afternoon thunderstorms are possible. you just saw that on future tracker six. hopefully we can knock them out in time for the union cup match against d.c. united this evening at ppl park. then tomorrow it's warm and even more humid a cold front triggers an additional chance of showers or thunderstorms 87 is there high there. then it might still be unsettled on thursday with a pop-up storm but not a washout. friday rain in the morning is possible but the afternoon it looks like a brief visit from high pressure will give us a dry nice one high of 84. for the fourth of july on saturday a mix of sun and clouds getting more humid again, a high of 86 degrees and a slight chance of a spotty thunderstorm in the afternoon or evening. my take right now is that most of your fireworks displays will probably be okay but a great, great evening to check out "action news" before you head out just to make sure there's nothing going on. >> we will do that. thanks, david. 6:11 now. still ahead more stories you didn't see last night including the fiery plane

court so watch for that one. still the downed wires in gloucester county. one of the areas that was hardest hit from the storms a week ago east greenwich township and downed wires closing the ramp from 295 to harmony road, that's exit 17 in gloucester county. you could use 15 or 16 instead nd harmony road itself is closed near swedesboro road so watch for that one. construction today from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and watch for it on delilah road shut down between new road and 585. reading avenue will get you around this one. i'm tweeting out all the latest with the hashtag 6abc traffic. the it's warm and humid with a high of 86 degrees and we're watching for the chance for a strong storm at any point even early this afternoon. matt. >> thanks karen. looks like a scene out of the dukes hazard. a driver jumped a car over drawbridge as it was going up in west palm beach flash flood the suv plowed through the bridge arms and made it across the bridge. as it turns out the driver says he was distracted.

police say he was messing with his gps at the time. authorities believe two convicted killers who escaped from a northern new york prison and elude add massive manhunt for three weeks were improvising. david sweat talked with investigators from his hospital bed yesterday. state police sergeant shot and captured him on sunday. sweat says after breaking out of the clinton correctional facility he and fellow fugitive richard matt planned to go to mexico but they headed to canada instead saying their get away driver prison worker joyce mitchell, got cold feet. >> would kill mitchell's husband and then get in the car and drive to mexico on the theory that mitchell was in love with one or both of them. >> sweat also told detectives that matt was slowing him down so the two separated five days ago. officers shot and killed matt on friday about 16 miles from where sweat was apprehended. sweat is expected to remain in the hospital for several days.

>> a helicopter unexpectedly started up at an air show in minnesota and it was a six-year-old boy who was behind the controls. he had climbed inside the mayo clinic chopper and somehow managed to fire up the engine. a witness took cell phone video of the tense few minutes that then played out the rotating propellers knocked over a large sun shield injured two people. a worker then rushed over to get the boy out of the helicopter and shut it down. the ntsb is now investigating. >> precocious child. >> you know he was in time out in a corner somewhere. >> for a long time. let's take you outside right now and show you what it looks like in delaware county. blue route southbound approaching macdade boulevard we had app disabled vehicle there just cleared and now traffic is moving okay as you head towards i-95. no other problems at this

point on the blue route and mass transit's on time this morning so far dave. >> all right karen. off to a decent start with most of the area in the 60's. 76 degrees by 9 o'clock in philadelphia and if you're catching the bus or the el, 81 by noon. if you have errands to run that are optional i would do them in the morning because afternoon or so there is the chance of a thunderstorm or a shower. your high today is going to be that 86-degree reading at 3 o'clock. a little humid and thunderstorms will be spotty. where they hit they could produce heavy downpours or gusty winds. there is a slight chance through the eastern half of the united states and back out to areas north of denver a pocket in southern arizona as well and this includes our area so any thunderstorm that forms today could potentially be strong and gusty on the big board at the airport right now though it's all green aircraft went for now don't have any rain reported in any of our most commonly traveled destinations. the problem is probably more this afternoon. matt. >> thanks, david. the phillies are hoping a
