county. we have had several tornado warnings usual youed this afternoon. and we are collecting several images from you on #6abcaction, it was a scary sky and rain is falling fast in areas as well. here is a look at stormtracker 6 live double scan more storms are popping up across our viewing area and more storms could be severe and we are stopping on all of it for if you. the big stories on "action news" is the big storms coming through and reports of damage already. and ppl reporting more than 10,000 customers out tonight. meteorologist, adam joseph and cecily tynan keeping track of all the storms. >> this is the second week in a row dealing with severe weather, last tuesday was the intense squall line, this is a different scenario tonight. stormtracker 6 live double scan

showing we are dealing with now individual thunderstorms popping up and some of them with the potential to form super cells, we had multiple ones this afternoon and more severe weather, a severe warning is poefrted for northern lancaster county until 6:00 tonight this storm is moving east quickly at 30 miles per hour and 15 lightning strikes the past minutes and we are sewing a bit of a bow and you get a jet with severe winds rushing in and this has the capability of producing damaging winds so tracking that storm system. rossville, akron lincoln and farmsville all in the path of the storm if you live in those communities, get inside immediately and if you hear thunder get inside get the kids off the ball fields thunder can

hit as far as 15 miles away, there is no safe platous side in a thunderstorm, we say gusty thunderstorm moving into the heart of philadelphia right now, moving northeast at 20 miles per hour, rolling up i-95, this is not severe but we have lightning strikes and heavy rain and not a good combination during the evening commute. it was a busy afternoon and we are already beginning to see pictures from "action news" viewers thank is from mike in whitehall township the wind damage really knocked part of the roof off that house and pictures of hail from whitehall as well. john showing us this hail the size of a ping-pong ball. if you live there are you asked to avoid all unnecessary travel and avoid power lines they are down in high water we have

reports of flash flooding for more on the storm reports and what to expect later tonight, lets go to adam joseph. >> flooding is the other part of the storm a tremendous amount of rainfalling in a short amount of time, we have funle reports being captured on social media trexlertown a funnel cloud reported at the low high sally airport, there was a tornado warning issued and rotation moved over the airport with speeds of 60 miles per hour, and 64 miles per hour and orefield up in the lehigh valley, golf ball-size hail and coplay nickel size hail being reported. there are warnings until 7:00, with excess runoff with all the rain falling, and it can't seep into the ground so it collects

on roadways and a lot of branches being pulled down and leafs that can clog the drains a flash flood warning in effect tonight for southeastern parts of lancaster and new britain and chester county, where we see a couple inks of rab in a small amount of time. you can see severe thunderstorm warnings and pauchs in mosh of the mid-atlanticle. we see a line of storms in pittsburgh, this is set to arrive during the midnight hours, we have a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for all of southeastern pennsylvania and all of our counties in delaware and a few counties in new jersey gloucester, salem and cumberland, this does not include the shore some of these could develop through the 8:00 hour and we'll watch the line

clouds in several locations and a state of emergency is declared in whitehall because of damage and flooding. >> a scary busy afternoon lets go to meteorologist cecily tynan. >> monica and rick the tornado warning occurred between 2:00 and 3:45, that is when we were really under the gun. we still have individual thunderstorms, but there is one severe thunderstorm warning in effect for northern lancaster county until 6:00 and this storm system is moving east at 30 miles per hour. we are looking at 10 lightning strikes and it's approaching 202 right now and we see a bowing out that could indicate fierce winds and moving into west berks county and honey brook already got hit hard this afternoon you have another round of severe weather moving in and we have scattered thunderstorms, they are not severe but they are

strong and one rolled right through philadelphia and one east of philadelphia and we have a few near glassboro and one crossing route 40 west of elmer it's not quite over yet and we are not looking at severe weather across south jersey and most of the severe weather is in the northwest suburbs as xpeted. this was sent in from aston pennsylvania you can see the flooding the floodwaters are halfway up to the mailbox, you want to be careful, we have reports of flooding in aston and the flood advisory is posted for chester county and delaware county and newcastle county through philadelphia berks county and montgomery county and low high valley in and i always say turn around don't drown, everybody wants to get home but don't drive-thru flooded waters,

hill getting rainfall one lightning strike in this advantage point and heading over 55 in glassboro and woodbury on and off intermittent rain and an intense ban of rain passed through. this is from lee marie in aston can you see the water piled up on the roads all the water running down the street and collecting in one location of course you don't want to drive into a flooded road and find an alternate route. in aston between an inch inch and a half of rain, doesn't sound like a lot but it fell in a short am of time and even an inch in philadelphia county as well. we have flood advisory in effect for montgomery county and delaware county and chester county and newcastle county

until 8:00 this evening there are roads that have water collected on them and you don't know how deep it is so just be cautious, if are you traveling around in any counties in southeastern pennsylvania in addition to that, we have a thunderstorm watch in effect tonight. in eastern parts of pennsylvania, and counties in delaware and parts of new jersey cumberland and gloucester and camden county severe thunderstorm watching is there for any storm to develop or turn severe. there is another line of storms passing through at midnight and we'll see that on future tracker 6 later. victim's home. sara bloomquist has the latest from police headquarters. >> reporter: homicide detectives are here working leads after the victim's stolen vehicle was discovered this morning. officers on patrol discovered 85-year-old regina brunner's stolen toyota corolla this morning they will search it for evidence, dna and blood as they try to identify the elderly woman's killer. >> we have an 85-year-old woman beaten and stabbed several times, very tragic. >> brunner last spoke with her son saturday night police believe it happeneded sometime early saturday morning, neighbors called concerned they seen her and her car was missing eugene albert came by

wefrt oak lane, that woman was 4 months pregnant and she is in critical condition and her unborn child has died. it happened at the 7300 block of authoron avenue and the man was shot in both legs and is stable at einstein. >> when something like this happens, it doesn't happen to one person it happens to the neighborhood, all the family members and the friends. >> witnesses told police they heard an argument and saw two men flee, police are searching for surveillance cameras to see if they get provide a trips of the suspects. now a story that our new jersey bureau is following, the ocean prosecutors office is issuing a warning for this, a cell phone case shaped like a handgun, look at the photos at first glance it looks like they have a gun sticking out of the jeans but the handle and hammer

are part of a cell phone case it's raising concern among law enforcement, because it could be mistaken for an actual weapon. ocean county officials poefrt posted the statement with the photo saying please folks this cell phone case is not a cool product and not a good idea. a police officer's job is hard enough without having to make a split decision in the dark of night when someone decides to pull this out during a motor vehicle violation. >> the ocean county prosecutors office says they look dangerous it's not illegal to have a cell phone case shaped like a gun but urge everyone to use common exception. >> this is 42-year-old kevin minor, he is facing charges in delaware for allegedly grabbing a 6-year-old girl and dunking her repeatedly in a pool while

new fallout from the prison escape from new york the prison security and chief are off the job, they are being row placed as investigators look deeper into how david sweat and richard matt broke out. both were shot by police and matt dies and sweat is hospitalized from his bed he told them he used a hack saw blade starting in january to begin cutting cell block walls, before his capture a police officer walks by a tree stand that he was hidden in. and david muir will have more on the prison escape watch it following "action news" at 6:00.

in from the west. not a lot going on in the area but a couple of clusters of storms that we are presently watching on double scan live radar parts of northeastern land caster county in effect until 6:00 right around everda and adams town, and strong winds with these storm only 2 lightning strikes, near lincoln at 5:56 and watch the storm near rossville heading towards 222 heading towarded the east and lincoln where there could be damaging winds left over with that particular storm and a cluster of storms we are watching south and east of the city near cherry hill and woodbury, the atlantic city expressway in camden and gloucester county as well as glassboro and 55 in gloucester county dealing with a cluster

of storms not severe at this point but as it heads north and east there are strong storms with it and heavy rainfall we are watching with this as it passes by north and east of philadelphia earlier this afternoon there were tornado warnings in parts of the lehigh valley including northampton some damage as this branch came off the tree and hit the siding and pulled it off and damaged that window. we see a lot of damage reports coming in across the region especially chester county and the lehigh valley and numerous trees down and wires and in honry brook and phoenixville and west goshen, where we had tornado warnings at this point that after none. temperatures are overall in the 70s across the region winds coming in across the atlantic, temperatures in the 70s and a decent amount of sunshine most of the activity has been inland and will remain that way in the

evening hours, we have the severe thunderstorm watching up all the way to the west watching the cold front to the west of pittsburgh and until that front pulls through and we run the risk, and spots at 8:30, future tracker dry south and east in southeastern pennsylvania near i-95 where we could see the thunderstorms erupt at any time and the trend continues through the midnight hour and the wee hours of wednesday morning before we push the front away, and early clouds at the shore give way to sunshine in the area and spotty shower north of the poconos tomorrow afternoon a moderate risk for rip currents don't go in the ocean because of strong winds from the east, at the shore tomorrow the rip current risks reduce and give way to a mixture of sun and clouds and 72 and overall looking like a decent day at the shore tomorrow. the exclusive accuweather
