making news in america this morning, breaking overnight, another historic black church in the south burned. the seventh to go up in flames in two weeks. is there a connection? also breaking overnight, the first trove of hillary clinton's e-mails released. thousands of messages from the presidential candidate. which ones are the republicans calling troubling? cockpit misconduct. two pilots fired snapping selfies with a playboy model even allowing her to take control of the plane. victory. team usa knocking off the germans, one more win and the team makes history. good wednesday morning to you all.

we begin with the breaking news out of south carolina. fire tearing through another black church. >> it's the seventh predominantly african-american church to go up in flames since the charleston massacre. too soon to determine a cause but this church had been torched before. we get the latest from abc's kenneth moton. >> reporter: this historically black south carolina church was gutted fire ripped through mt. sighin' ame 60 miles north of charleston. state and federal investigators moved in. it's the seventh house of worship in the south to burn in ten days. the causes are still under investigation. weather and electrical problems are believed to be factors for some but the one that took down this one in charlotte, north carolina last week is being called arson. >> whoever has done this we forgive you and hopefully there's an opportunity for us to even meet. >> reporter: in macon, georgia, investigators also determine someone intentionally set god's power church of christ on fire.

>> we want to find them. that's a crime and we want to solve that. >> reporter: the fires sparked in the move to remove confederate flags after parishioners at emanuel ame church were gunned down by an allegedly racist white man. there is a reason to believe the fires are racially motivated. for mt. zion ame this is the second major fire. 20 years ago the kkk burned down the church. but this time was it the work of man or nature? a law enforcement source says storms were rolling through south carolina and a witness reported hearing a loud boom before the fire. an indicator of a possible lightning strike. kenneth moton, abc news, washington. also breaking overnight our first look at some of the e-mails hillary clinton kept on a private server while she was secretary of state. state department released the first batch of about 3,000

pages. so far no major bombshells certainly related to benghazi. there were dozens from her adviser sidney blumenthal. they're calling that troubling. most of the messages dealing with clinton's schedule and the mundane, one even about her preference for iced tea. another exchange showed her inability to work a fax machine. aides kept her updated on her husband's news about him, as well. the batch -- this batch, only 7% of the total all expected to be released by january. new fallout from the prison escape in upstate new york. the head of the prison and security chief are on paid leave. ten other employees put on leave. this is captured convict david sweat talking about the escape restreaming he and richard matt were cutting holes in their cells and exploring the prisons tunnels for six months. he said they conducted a test run the night before they left for good. sweat also told authorities he never had a sexual relationship with the prison worker accused of helping the men escape. the families forced out by a

fast-moving wildfire in central washington have been returning home. some of them to scenes of devastation. that fire scorched two dozen homes, several businesses in the city of wenatchee. fire crews have made some progress. fire is about half contained now. one man came home to find just about nothing left of his house. >> we weren't anticipating this or ready for this. my wife and i came out kind of let the kids though what to expect when we brought them. pretty surreal. pretty overwhelming. >> there are about 45 large fires being tracked across the drought-stricken western u.s. 25 of them in alaska alone. incredibly 2200 square miles in that state are actively burning. well it was a tornado the people in one philadelphia suburb that's what they think hit them. fast-moving storm brought wind and hail to that area and one community declared a state of emergency. what's ahead today and bring in accuweather's justin povick. good morning to you, justin.

>> t.j. and reena, thanks and good morning. the threat for severe weather will start to shift a little further south and west later on this afternoon. a couple of days ago we had dangerous thunderstorms near st. louis. i think we could see some more of those this afternoon, damaging winds being the primary threat but flash flooding is another big concern. toons of wildfires going on throughout the northwest. poor air quality and lots of smoke continuing to press into the northern plains. t.j. and reena, back to you. >> thanks so much justin. overnight jeb bush releasing his tax records for the past 33 years. they show that the former florida governor has earned nearly $28 million since leaving office. his primary occupation was as a consultant though he also made 10 million giving speeches. the gop presidential hopeful is in the top 1% of taxpayers. landmark announcement today on the renewed relationship between the u.s. and cuba. president obama will unveil plans for both countries to re-open their embassyies shut down more than 50 years ago. both are expected to be up and running by the end of the month.

the u.s. embassy will be located in its old building in havana. well new security measures going into place at the white house. sharp metal spikes are being added to the white house fence. installation begins today and is expected to take about six weeks. the change comes after a string of security breaches including an intruder who jumped the fence and made it all the way inside the white house. this is a temporary fix until a long-term solution is approved. the president seems to be tweeting a lot here lately. has reason to tweet and this time it was a congratulations to the u.s. women's national team they are bound for sunday's world cup finals. >> all excited about this. ladies beat germany last night, 2-0. abc's paula faris was at the match in montreal. hey, ball la good morning. >> reporter: well reena and t.j., they did it. they are back in the finals. you know this was billed to be one of the greatest women's world cup matches ever and it certainly didn't disappoint. number one versus number two, the top offense in germany versus the top defense in team

on edge at the bridge. not far from that is wall street. some people on edge for a different reason because this morning an entire country is now in default of its debts. greece missed its huge payment to the international monetary fund yesterday. thousands of greeks demonstrated in favor of accepting new tough bailout terms but the u.s. markets now seem to be shrugging off the greek crisis major indexes recovered after monday's plunge. the dow up 23 point, the nasdaq up 28. s&p gained 5. major fashion designer stepping down donna karan will no longer be the chief designer for her line. the 66-year-old will still be close adviser and the company has no plans to replace her. karan plans to focus on philanthropy and health care. you may find veggie burgers at your local burger king. the fast food chain started serving six different varieties last november and wants to give them a try in the rest of the
