this points at montgomery drive. you're barely moving. you want to stick with the river drives, the mlk west river or kelly instead as you're doing so i would advise staying towards the center lanes of those roadways. outer lanes have big puddles and could be dangerous. westbound schuylkill delays spilling onto the westbound vine which is now a solid line from eighth street out to 76 and i expect these delays to start to spill back onto the ben franklin bridge. so, it's just a domino effect. really a mess as you work your way through center city over to the schuylkill expressway this morning. we've also had big issues this morning on the regional rails with some amtrak power problems. the airport line is running again. some residual delays. wilmington newark is running again but with up to hour delays and the thorndale paoli regional rail line still halted because of downed wires. amtrak northeast corridor delays between here and d.c. and no service at this point between here and harrisburg again because of the effects of the weather. over in pennsauken there was a crash that happened early this morning. action cam is still out there

on the scene. the crash brought down a traffic signal in the southbound lanes of 130 here at drexel avenue but good news as we look live from the action cam now all those southbound lanes headed down toward route 38 have reopened. so check that one off the list. looking better in pennsauken. how is that weather looking outside. mr. murphy? >> matt we are starting to see some brightening in the skies over the terrace. we'll see some sun returning into action. as we take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan most our sprinkles and showers have moved off the coast and the thunderstorms that kept some of you awake overnight are now all the way over toward the east end of long island and behind these storms we're not really looking at a whole lot of problems. we'll see some sun returning. it will still be warm and humid today and there's the slight chance of another pop-up shower or thunderstorm later this afternoon or early this evening. from aston pennsylvania lee marie tweets in this picture to "action news." flooded intersections and we may still see some of that as we're driving around in places where storm drains are backed up and we have not been able to get rid of all that water. and you're also looking at

some damage around the region. mike in whitehall township shows a collapsed porch. there's a lost trees and wires down in the lehigh valley and its also parts of chester county, delaware county and in toward philadelphia, parts of montgomery county as well. so careful driving around this morning if you run into any of that. 70 degrees in philadelphia right now on the muggy side and as we roll through the day it's going to be warm and humid. a high of 87 around 3 o'clock and then 84 by 6 o'clock. again, some scattered very spotty showers or thunderstorms possible during the afternoon. nothing severe on tap for today. matt when i come inside we'll check out the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast and what's ahead, the next chance of precipitation that's all coming up. >> see you then. thanks, david. back to that breaking news. the schuylkill expressway remains a mess right now where two people lost their lives in a dramatic and horrifying car fire. third person was rushed to hahnemann university hospital. state troopers from the belmont barracks here were called out to that scene on the schuylkill expressway. let's go to that video from early this morning. the crash happened around 2:30 this morning in the westbound lanes of the schuylkill approaching montgomery drive. as you can see these flames were intense. somehow this car lost control it flipped to its side and burst into flames. here's what the car looked like after the fire was extinguished. it was just a burned out shell. we don't know yet what led up to this crash whether the wet roads or storms were factors in this accident. but the driver and a passenger died. another passenger was rushed to the hospital. fire and rescue crews and state police were on the scene. again, traffic is backed up but so far has been getting by slowly. we are live in wynnefield heights. katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> thank katherine. new this morning police tape surrounds a shotup minivan in north philadelphia. the driver is wounded is that hospitalized. the action cam was o along the 2800 block of north stillman

just another funnel like formation spotted yesterday as the area was slammed with severe weather. frightening to be so close to that formation. let's turn to the lehigh valley now. the national weather service says it may travel there today as well to inspect damage near the lehigh valley international airport. now, this is the scene in whitehall township. downed trees and crushed back porches after a fast moving storm packed powerful winds and hail moved through the area. according to residents there the sky went dark and then a funnel cloud -- at least what they thought was a funnel cloud formed and that's when they took cover. >> peeled the roof right back. my siding is all dented up. my screens have holes in it. my shed back here has holes in it from it. so yeah, i got quite a bit of damage here. >> we went down in the basement and heard a loud color and it was the patio roof coming down. >> reporter: so again the national weather service will be out to these different areas today to determine if, in fact there was a tornado in

honeybrook and again it may head out to the lehigh valley but residents certainly know that they have days of cleanup ahead and a memory of a very frightening experience. tam. >> thank you, erin. and the frustrated residents of south jersey who went a week without power have finally gotten some relief. atlantic city electric completed its restoration yesterday. the company reports that last week's outages which reached 280,000 exceeded those from super storm sandy. and any time severe weather happens be sure to check the free 6abc storm tracker six app. get live radar and severe weather alerts for your neighborhood and for anyplace that you're going. >> 6:37. pennsylvania enters a new fiscal year today without a budget. governor tom wolf vetoed the state legislature's entire spending plan. it is the first full budget veto in pennsylvania in more than 40 veers. the democratic governor says the republican backed $30.2 billion measure is packed with gimmicks that don't add up. state funded agencies have begun planning for the possibility of a prolonged

delay in getting state funds. the wolf administration told state workers back on monday that they would continue to work and be paid. >> time now to turn to dave murphy. boy those storms are something else. >> yeah. >> rain is not technically completely out of here. >> yeah, i mean we still might get a little pop-up shower or thunderstorm activity another wednesday, another day of trees and wires on at least some roads around the region. storm tracker6 live double scan shows you that the active showers are now pushing off the coast to the east and as we take a look outside we still have mainly cloudy skies but there are some holes in the clouds here and there. not so much at the shore but over the station right now you can see some blue and we are going to see the return of some sunshine as we head through the morning and into the afternoon. the temperature currently is 70. your dewpoint up in the mid 60's so it does feel muggy out there and winds are out of the southwest at 9 miles per hour. here's one of the many photographs we have been bringing in from our social media followers out in "action news" viewer land and that is a major thunderstorm that was right over the delaware river from ray skywire and you can see what looks like a wall

just saw on that viewer photograph that was tweeted in. 61 miles per hour gusts and some homes damaged particularly where trees came down and ripped off siding or maybe the winds just came through and knocked some posts off of -- some porches. we've seen some pictures of that sort of thing. as we go into noon, clouds and sun, kind of humid out there and then through the afternoon a slight chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm popping through. i do expect all of this to be over with by about seven or 8 o'clock tonight and i do also want to point out that the chance of severe weather from the storm prediction center has now pushed to the north and east of us so we are not looking at severe storms today. you always head indoors though if you hear thunder because in the very least there could be lightning. your seven day, 87 is today's high humid conditions, a slight chance of a spotty thunderstorm or shower. sun to clouds tomorrow, 84 with an afternoon shower possible mainly down south of philadelphia. and then clouds and sun on friday after a morning shower or thunderstorm. we should dry out and we get a

pleasant high of 82 with lower humidity. the fourth of july overall isn't looking bad. clouds and sun 84. we may build the humidity back a little bit. there's the slight chance of a spotty shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening and that's something everyone will obviously want to keep their eyes out for for picnics and fireworks displays. i think in most cases you'll probably be okay and then it's sunny and dry and very warm on sunday. >> okay, thank you david. 6:41 now and search teams continue to sift through the rubble of yesterday's plane wreck in indonesia. we'll give you an update next. >> someone who put up a tent in his backyard for rent on an online site is actually seeing some surprising interest. matt. >> not seeing any delays yet matt here on our good buddy ben, the ben franklin bridge headed westbound towards center city. but they could form because we have big delays ahead on the vine street expressway and the schuylkill expressway. we'll talk about them when "action news" continues on this wednesday morning.

time on the eastbound side is a little bit slower and that's just with the normal morning volume kicking in. we've also seen a lot of puddles, a lot of ponding out there as well. no delays yet on the ben franklin bridge headed towards center city but once you get on the vine street expressway, things are jammed solid from eighth street on out to the schuylkill and that's because of those jams on the westbound side of 76 itself. if you're headed to brugers bagels in haverford a crash along route 30 at haverford station road. also getting word of a new one in hatboro montgomery county along byberry road at mason's mill road but no issues so far this morning on the westbound side of the pennsylvania turnpike. unlike yesterday morning speeds are in the 50's and 60's. so, that's a welcome change for sure. warning for you though, if you travel through gloucester township starting in just about 15 minutes they're going eclose church street today for some paving work. clementon avenue can get you around that blockage. still have a downed tree in marlton along north locust avenue by 70 by the wal-mart.
