holly, new jersey say it's key in determining if this storm was indeed a twister. >> from the vantage point, it looks like there was that well defined funnel. the funnel is the appendage coming from the base but not necessarily hitting the ground and see if the damage occurred underneath the tunnel to verify a possible tornado. >> they will assess the damage up to morgantown road. roofs were ripped off and trees toppled over, the damage was minimal but frightening nonetheless for those in the middle of it. michael watched the powerful winds rip apart his neighbor's houses. >> get where it's safe and not worry about the stuff and get the animals and stay away from harm's way.

meteorologist, david murphy at the big board with the latest. it was getting steamy out there david. >> it was on the humid side and not oppressive humidity and we have yet to get the cold front that will knock the humidity down. nothing showing on stormtracker 6 live double scan that was of course a different story last evening, if you take a look at these storms as they barrel through the afternoon hours it's this one right here that the weather service is investigating, a kidney bean shape, and a notch right there and you look at it with dual pull and stormtracker 6 live double scan double scan technology and other equipment and views we have on the radar adjusting and assessing the wind in that. we can see tight rotation and the indication of a tight tornado there. other storms coming close to allentown produced funnel clouds and the weather service is here

now and will be there to assess the potential damage. there were other storms that came close to philadelphia that produced hail and no funnel clouds that we can tell. in chester county we have other bullets through the region through philadelphia and montgomery and chester border, there war flash flooding and quarter size hail. it's in these counties you may enkoupter downed trees and wires, if you see wires don't walk near them or cross over them. funnel clouds were reported here and we'll see if it's a confirmed tornado on the ground and golf ball hail and homes damaged here another area you may have problems. and on twitter, lee marie showed drefrming downpours that we had and we may still have blocked storm drains and here is a still of that picture from

police are on the locate of an accident involving a suv. it's flipped over there on your screen, this is whitaker avenue and luzerne street. at least one person was trapped in the suv for a time and had to be extricated from the vehicle. no word yet on the extent of the injuries and what may have caused the accident and police are on the scene of this one-vehicle accident to an suv, and we'll keep you posted as more information becomes available to us. a fiery accident on the schuylkill expressway, three people died when a car crasheded and burst into flames earlier this morning katherine scott spoke to investigators and has this report from winfield heights. >> three people died in this crash and the sole survivor was in the hospital this morning, police briefly did speak to that survivor but he was very injured and disoriented. police are hope that people come

forward if they have any information on how they got out of that vehicle and information that led up to the crash intense flames from the violent crash on the schuylkill expressway the black kia optima was heading west on montgomery drive at 2:30 this morning when the driver lost control and the car hit the concrete median and flipped on its side and burst into flames. it's unclear how the driver got out of vehicle. >> one subject was ejected or pulled from the crash and we don't know yet. if anyone assisted we ask them to help us here. >> crews cleared away the wreckage and the mangled vehicle was towed to the police barracks in winfield heights. three people did not survive, and it's too early to know the

the u.s. and cuba, president barack obama made the historic announcement from the rose garden at the white house. the united states has agreed to formerly establish diplomatic relations with the country of cuba and open up embassies in our respective countries. >> the u.s. closed its embassy in havana in 1961 during the height of the cold war and the opening the embassy is havana is expected to happen this summer. president obama and secretary of state, john kerry will travel to cuba for the embassy opening in late july. a man was shot while driving his van in philadelphia, and police are still looking for the shooter, it happened past midnight on chalmer avenue the man's windshield was shot out when it was hit with six bullets, he was shot once in the leg and the victim was taken to the hospital in critical but

criminal investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed a black church in south carolina they do not think it was the work of an arsonist, the same church was burned by the klu klux klan in 1995. it was the seventh blaze to ignite in the south the last few weeks it does not appear that they are related. authorities are continuing to investigate the. white house is adding new security to keep out intruder

. meteorologist, david murphy, is back now and it it was one crazy afternoon yesterday. >> it sure was, stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you that since the morning showers and the overnight predawn thunderstorms scooted off the coast we have not seen anything else pop around the region so good news there. taking a look outside sky 6 hd in center city sun mixing with clouds and hazy on the humid side. 83 is your current temperature and still a bit on the sticky side particularly if you are out in the sun and exerting yourself. wins are not that strong at 6 miles per hour. 77 in reading and 78 in

wilmington and 80 in millville and 80 along the boardwalks in atlantic city and in sea isle city. south philadelphia last evening, ray tweets us this picture of a circulating cloud that produced gusty winds and i believe hail frel from this one. an interesting picture. it's on my facebook page. and lehigh valley golf ball-size hail fall tlg and the same one that investigators are looking for possible tornado damage. and a funnel cloud was spotted by a trained spotter. 64 in cedarville and golf ball-size hail and nickel size hail from up north and similar type of reports coming from western chester county and in through chester and delaware county yesterday as well. satellite shows you the main brunt of that precipitation is out of here and frontal boundary out to the west with and this

energy is to our north and if we see anything pop around here it's few and far between. most of the heavy action is to the north and a pop-up shower or thunder and by 8:00 or 9:00 tonight it's completely gone the severe weather has shifted up to the north where you saw the heavier weather and nothing severe here and i think we need a break. up in allentown warm and humid and afternoon thunderstorm or shower can't be ruled out. down the shore we have the possibility of rip currents do be careful, only swim near the lifeguards, 83 is the forecast high and philadelphia a high of 87 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun and we have to allow for a spotty shower or thunderstorm. and 70 is the overnight low and a shower in a couple of neighborhoods but otherwise no problems, for the phillies dry and humid for the first pitch
