sunny skies, high of 83 at 3:00 p.m. that's going to be the high. humidity not all that bad today. unfortunately there's a bit of a change for the holiday weekend. we're looking at clouds and perhaps showers particularly in part of the region. >> reporter: i hope it's not the coastal part. good morning david, good morning everyone, just a touch of fog in a few spots this morning. what we're not seeing is construction crews off for the holiday weekend. that means the vine street expressway is open and ready for you right now and light volume which will be the case throughout the day. we're looking at police activity at 17th and sky cuyahoga. kelly drive will be closed for a regatta. benjamin franklin parkway chestnut 67th and independence hall. we have water main break at park avenue at west third avenue in

collegeville. mercers county, the overturned truck from the overnight hours cleared everything we opened from the ramp 195 eastbound to hamilton square road. in absecon there's a downed traffic signal blocking the westbound lanes at an seek conboulevard that's -- absecon boulevard. that's 30. mass transit is on a holiday schedule. in most cases that means a saturday schedule. breaking overnight, a robber picked the wrong people to hold up in the nicetown tioga section. gunfire wad exchanged two people including the robber are dead. katherine scott joins us from the scene with the full story. >> reporter: matt, that's right, police believe it started is a robbery, four people were shot, two died including the alleged robber who has a ski mask on. detectives and the crime scene

unit remain on the scene. look at the evidence markers, a lot of bullets fired marking off all kinds of evidence, bullet fragments. bullets hit a home here and hit multiple cars. this happened around 2:30 in tioga-nicetown. police believe the robbery suspect stopped a group on the 1900 block of juniata street. police believe someone in the group had an assault rifle, the robber was hit and ran down to bruiner street and died. he had a ski mask on. police believe there were more people there, they are not sure who fired the assault rifle. one bullet hit are a home, multiple cars shot up, a lot of gunfire on the blocker. >> there are a number of casings right now too numerous to count. we have two different caliber

weapons one appears to be a 45 and the other assault rival. it's a definite exchange of gunfire that tombs. >> reporter: took place. back here live, investigators racism on the scene they are trying to piece this together, they are hoping some of the people who were here will come forward so they can get more information. the two other people who were shot remain in the hospital in stable condition. >> gunfire everywhere on that street. developing overnight a driver was killed on i-95 when he ran into the back of a stopped tractor-trailer. it happened in the southbound lanes route 322 in the city of chester at midnight. police say the truck had its hazard lights on and pulled over to the median. philadelphia police say they have recovered of a stolen

laptop that was taken from regina brunner-holmes' home in what police believe was a robbery. three people are being questioned, no charges have been filed. a police officer accused of assaulting his girlfriend has turned himself in. michael alice has been suspended with the intent to dismiss. his girlfriend said they had a fight which turned physical. he is a 20 year veteran. force. property of a 2400 block of north 18th street is on the verge of collapse. trees have been growing underneath i tell and rodents are living there. the homeowner of the abandoned property died in 1996. 91-year-old fanny lives next-door and afraid the home will cave in on her. >> we had the police out here and peco and l&i and they haven't been back. >> well, inspectors with l&i posted a demolition notice more

wilmington, down the shore today upper 70s there's the chance of rip currents in the water again at the shore today so be careful. for the 4th of july, here's the change. we have a frontal boundary to the south. looks like a wave of low pressure will be pushing off the coast during the day. the flow around will produce a lot of cloud cover the way things are looking now and holding the temperature back to 75 degrees, the big problem is scattered showers are possible. future tracker 6 tracking the showers not so bad for an early wake up or walk or a run to the store for last-minute supplies. as we get into the afternoon showers, there's a chance of low pressure center producing showers or thunderstorms in the southern half of the region. as we roll through the afternoon, the shore unfortunately looks wet tomorrow. philadelphia at times will pick up some of that as well. the farther north you are the better chance you have of

staying dry. everybody for the afternoon picnic also need to keep their eyes on the forecast. if this pattern holds we go past 6:00 p.m. we head toward fireworks territory, looks like the fireworks will be dry. overall for the city, the shore and the poconos this weekend. 75 degrees mostly cloudy for tomorrow. clouds and showers 74 degrees at the shore. obviously the rainiest weather at the shore. a couple of showers possible in philadelphia. even up the poconos there will be a pop-up shower, mainly dry and mostly cloudy, 64 degrees that's the saturday call. saturday night for the fireworks. the way things are looking now. we have a decent shot of staying dry, check out "action news" and storm tracker 6 live or your smart phone storm tracker 6 live app before you head out to make sure sure we'll go mostly cloudy, but dry. 77 by 7:00 p.m. 72 by 11:00. the clouds will be high enough to see the fireworks. hopefully good fireworks weather
