philadelphia police say two people were killed when the robbery went awry and they say the robber is among the dead. >> police make a break in the murder afternoon east mount airy woman. find out what they have in their custody. >> we have the weather for the shore, the poconos and fireworks. >> karen rogers is off getting ready for her partly in the festivities tomorrow night. let's go outside to david murphy with all the all-important accuweather and matt pellman has traffic. >> reporter: good morning everyone we have sun coming up brightly over the horizon. take a look at satellite we have clouds to the west that will filter in as the day goes on, we're looking at nothing worse than partly sunny skies, 68 in philadelphia. low 60s in reading lancaster and trenton. millville, mid 60s in sea isle and boardwalk in atlantic city. as we take a look at where

numbers are going it's going to be warm, high of 83 at 3:00 p.m. maybe a little bit humid but not too bad no worse than partly sunny skies for the most of the day. fourth of july will be cloudy and showers around, hopefully clearing out or drying out in time for the fireworks. i'll have the latest on the future tracker 6 and the latest call for the entire weekend coming up from accuweather. matt what are roads and rails looking like early on. >> reporter: lots of stuff going on, roads are looking good, because a lot of people have off work. rails on a holiday schedule which means a saturday schedule. route one close to highland avenue we have police activity and now there's a ambulance on the scene as well. this is northbound route 1 coming away from the pennsylvania turnpike. stay to your left.

blocking the right lane, but not causing a huge delay because volume is light on this holiday friday morning. we'll talk about the closures because of holiday festivities and issue down the shore, as well. coming up in just a few minutes. >> breaking overnight, a robber picked the wrong people to hold up in the city's nicetown section, somebody was carrying a rifle, gunfire was exchanged two people, including the robber are dead. katherine scott is live on the scene where they are practically tripping all over the evidence on the streets. , that's right matt, a lot of evidence for investigators to process, four people were shot, two died. including the alleged robber. he had a ski mask on, investigators remain on the scene. look at the evidence markers at the intersection of juniata and

clorissa. police believe the robbery suspected stopped a group of people on juniata street. someone in the group had an assault rival. they exchanged gunfire, the robber was hit and ran away, he collapsed and died. his ski mask on. two other men and are a woman was shot, one of the men died. police are not sure who fired the assault rifle. one bullet hit a home, multiple annual cars shot up, a lot of shots fired last night. >> there are a number of casings, right now too numerous to count. we have two different caliber weapons ones appears to be a .445 and the other an assault rifle. >> reporter: investigators remain processing the evidence they are be looking for

surveillance camera, so far they are not located any witnesses. they believe more people were here that left the scene and hoping they can come forward and find out what happened. the two people who survived are in stable condition at the hospital. live in tioga nicetown, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> developing overnights a driver was killed on i-95 when he ran into the back of a stopped tractor-trailer near route 322 in the city of chester at midnight. the police say the truck had its hazard lights on and pulled over near the median. crash is under investigation. police say they have recovered the stolen laptop of regina brunner-holmes who was brutally killed in her home in what police believe was a robbery. three people are being questioned by detectives.

for now. there's the clouds filtering in from the west aiming at the southern half of the region. most of the area enjoys a partly sunny day and warm conditions. 83 is the from forecasted high this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. so warm and nice. in the lehigh valley high of 80 today, low 80s in the i-95 corridor. down the shore, 77 in cape may. 78 in atlantic city. rip currents possible down the shore again today. be careful to only swim next to the lifeguards. fourth of july, we have a frontal boundary parked to the south, we'll see a wave of low pressure going along the front and the flow in off the ocean over on the top of that low will produce clouds. in fact it looks like it will be cloudier tomorrow than originally forecast. for that reason we're raising the high temperature to 73.

there maybe a system that interacts with the low. as we go late morning into the afternoon we're looking at the arrival of showers coming over the top of the low and there could thunderstorms mixed in, as well. #-- 3:00 p.m. the farther north you go the lest chance you have that. keep your eyes out if you're heading to picnic or parade. late in the evening it has a good chance of getting out of here, if that happens it will give us dry conditions for the fireworks. general, 75, chance of showers. down the shore, clouds and showers, 74 the high there. in the poconos, 64 we can't rule out a pop-up shower there, as well. for the fireworks we'll go mostly cloudy, but we are looking at dry conditions the way things look now.

bridge. it's back in business for this holiday weekend. on the big picture watching a couple of issues police activity in nicetown tioga katherine has been telling us, kelly drive will close at 10:00 a.m. for the independence day are regatta. inner drive of the benjamin franklin parkway will be blocked at 9:30, expect closures around independence hall and mall because of the block party around 9:30 a.m. had the issue with the police activity along route 1 the super highway by highland avenue there goes the ambulance being towed away. all the lanes are reopened. there's a crash in worcester at stump hall road. and collegeville a water main break at park avenue and west third avenue. >> new this morning james holmes iq could play a role in the defense.

the doctors noted his iq dropped while in jail. the changes are abnormal and could be caused by schizophrenia which could make the defense that holmes was insane while he acted. homers is charge with killing 12 people and injuring dozens more inside a parked midnight movie. >> a georgia dentist is defending a way he handles young patients. he uses a pappoose board. many parents are voicing concerns. >> she didn't want to cooperate. she also only five years old. the american academy of pediatric dentistry papoose

in 1986, the staff in grand view hospital got an anonymous call there was a baby outside in the bushes wrapped in a red sweatshirt. she said she is emotional ready and wants to meet the woman who gave her up. >> i don't have any ill will toward the person at all. it wasn't like she left me hoping someone would find me. she made sure someone found me, i think so that's awesome. >> one woman has reached out to heather claiming to be her mother and agreed to a dna test. we'll keep you posted on how it turns out.
