what does this mean for your fourth plans? chris sowers the man in the hot seat. i did see sprinkles coming in this morning. >> reporter: it's going to be enough to be ray annoying, but not that bad. as we look at the center city skyline, we have clouds and gray and spritzes and sprinkles starting to show up. temperatures wise not too bad 70 in philadelphia. 68 in millville. low # 0s along the coast. sea isle city, along the boards in atlantic city, 72. cooler where it's raining, 66 in reading and lancaster. we're lucking out. we have two areas of concentrated moisture one is working out to sea the other is pushing up the spine of the appalachians, we are sitting in the middle, we're missing out of the heaviest weather west and south of the viewing area. we'll zoom into the western suburbs, reading to lancaster shower activity, pressing north into hamburg and slatington and

showers this morning that's about it. other than sprinkles across south jersey, for today mostly cloudy, it's not a wash, there will be a shower or two around especially around midday into the first part of the afternoon. high temperatures topping out around 76 degrees, it will be a cooler day humid a few showers expected this afternoon, sunday is brighter, we get into the unsettled pattern next week. we'll talk about that when i see you in about ten minutes. eva. >> thanks, chris,. the fourth of july weekend is off and running across the delaware valley. fireworks displays were held as people enjoy the long weekend and the anniversary of the declaration of independence. sky6 live hd looking live at cape may. it's still a little early but we've seen people walking along the shore already this morning. the beaches and boardwalks we packed all weekend long

celebrating the fourth of july. >> reporter: the sky over the jersey shore lit up as the fourth of july weekend kicked off with a bang. there was more than fireworks over the sky in wildwood, however, we found vacationers posing for selfies and packing the boardwalk. these girls came from philly this weekend. >> what's your favorite thing to do? >> go on the rides water park, eat. >> reporter: if people watching is your thing you know to expect the unexpected in wildwood. you're a cowboy from new york. >> basically. >> i've never seen anybody like him up here. it was a first. >> reporter: in ocean city it was a first vacation for caleb foster of glenside pennsylvania, some came from as far as colorado. >> ocean city is a special

started philly pops held their concert. one family came from canada. >> i showed the kids a bit of different history than our own what a place to come, i wanted to come to philly, what a fantastic place. >> as the proud broadcast partner of the wawa welcome america celebration, "action news" got close to the fireworks, they are planning for the complicated choreography started in january. the payoff will be in a continuous 15 minute aerial bombardment. a dazzling display lit up the skies over the wissahickon high school. hundreds of families enjoyed the

alert. they are ramping forces because of potential terror attack. in new york city ratcheting up police presence on the ground air and water. los angeles called it the highest terror alert since 9/11, it's mostly because of the attacks of lone wolves, people radicalized already in america. in the birth place of the nation there's no surprise there will be heightened security measures seen and unseen. fbi i should an advisory after three terror attacks on the same day last month. city officials say they are in contact with federal officials

and it's safe to come out. >> there's been a lot of charter, but there's no specific threat to anywhere that we're aware of right now in the country. organizers are asking visitors not to bring big coolers and cooking equipment and advising against big backpacks nothing larger than a bred bask and they may be subject to security check. police arrested an injured baby who showed signs of being assaulted. the baby is stable at saint christopher's hospital. so far police have not said who they questioned or if a crime was committed. in north philadelphia police are investigating a double shooting. it happened at 12:30 the intersection of germantown and erie avenue in front of max's steaks. two men were rushed to temple university hospital, one in critical condition, the other in

serious condition. so far police have no systems or motives in that shooting. u.s. marshals have caught this man 21-year-old victor benefit -- bennett wanted for shooting at a police officer on tuesday night. after a three block foot chase officers caught him. bennett was armed with a handgun. he is being held on 1 million-dollar bail. a vote for casino gambling throughout new jersey is looking likely. lawmakers say there's no chance to have a referendum on the ballot. in order to do so, a bill must be passed by august 1. arcade games are fun to play while you're down the

>> fire crews in florida say lightning may have sparked fire in the everglades. it covers about 100 acres. the florida forest service came in to clear away brush abbey trees to stop the fire from spreading. this is what it looks like in cooksville. days of heavy rain triggered flash flooding, the area could see another inch or two of rain today. not good news for them. we're expected to see just a touch of rain today. >> reporter: just a little bit. >> it's not going to be a ruiner. >> reporter: the only people who are not going to be happy are those looking to get a suntan and catch some rays. we'll have a few passing showers and the parades going on and the barbecues they will be fine, as

well. it's enough to be annoying, but it's not going to ruin the day. there's the view in atlantic city all is quiet on this saturday morning. double scan live showing showers approaching the far western suburbs, the southern activity is pushing out to sea. we'll zoom in, this is not too terribly heavy. hamburg is getting wet. the line seems to be from lancaster to reading points west. heaviest stuff running up the spine of the appalachians, we'll miss out on that, which is good news, we'll see spritzes and sprinkles followed by showers this afternoon. it could be a hot holiday with temperatures in the 90s. we'll hold in the 70s allentown, 70. lancaster and reading 66. millville, 66. as you can see this area of moisture is split in two one moving to the northwest and one pushing out to sea. we're stuck in the middle.

we're catching a dry spell this morning, but some of this will push in later this afternoon. so, as we look at the surface map there's a stalled frontal system to the south it's been there for several days, during the course of the week we've seen small area of low pressure this guy here riding that front as it gets closer and closer it's brings us showers. as we get into sunday and beyond all this stuff starts to work out to sea and the good guy high pressure comes in and dries us out. the model has a good handle on a how this will play out. lots of clouds throughout the day. wind off the water out of the northeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour. overnight clearing conditions after midnight. fog sets in and we get into sunday morning you may start out with gray, patchy fog the skies brighten up and sunday promises to be a nice day. cool for the 4th of july,

again we could easily have temperatures in the 90s we'll go 76 today. lots of clouds and scattered showers. i'm not sure we'll see that, again, evening drying, on a scale of one to ten we'll give it a seven. not too bad. poconos, cool, 65 degrees, sunday, sunny and warmer, 77 degrees, the jersey shore if you're going into the water there's a moderate risk for rip current listen to the lifeguards. clouds and showers expected but not a wash. sunday, partly sunny 78 degrees philadelphia, 76 mostly cloudy several showers around this afternoon, not a washout. winds out of the northwest at 5 to 15 miles per hour. overnight fog developing after midnight, cool for the western suburbs, 66 degrees, 62 for center city. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast turns a little unsettled next week. today showers 76. 85 degrees much warmer for
