all began. >> happy 4th of july ! >> phillies jam on the parkway is an independence day party like none other with a massive free concert and plenty of family fun. cynthia foster of pennsauken brought her daughter and nephew. >> this is an opportunity for everybody to blend and have a good time and be here and celebrate the fourth and independence day. >> the concert is the thrill. the people around here it's just so much fun period. i love it down here. >> philadelphia pa. >> crowds were entertained by a star studded list as musical acts head lined by philadelphia's own, the roots . >> bigger than anything and i've never been here and lived here my whole sgliv after years of watching philly jam on tv scott and judy bower say it's more than impressive in person. >> he normty of it and crowds coming together. it's amazing. >> celebrating the fourth and freedoms we share in the birth

down delaware county independence day parade and fireworks show went off without a hitchch the cloud ooh d and a had hh d during this show. >> and delaware county was a great place to be to see fireworks displays. all folks were looking to the sky in tready principle frighten township. and in glenside this evening fun was had by all at the 112th annual grand deploreious and patriotic parade that's what they call it in glen sixd the streets were lined with neighbors watching the fun colorful parade go by. >> and very location founding fathers signed declaration of independence it was a great day to create history for some and for others a chance to learn about history. from independence hall to ben franklin parkway they came together to show their spirit in the city of philadelphia. >> caleb pierre moved from haiti to the united states. hi took the naturalization oath in front of independence hall becoming citizens. >> i'm glad philadelphia welcomed me in a good way. because i just became a citizen and i like it. >> it's 4th of july and i'm a citizen now on this day. i'm happy about that. >> after the ceremony's bands floats and dancers marched through the nation's most historic square mile. >> where else should you be besides philly. >> tiffany celebrated with 3-year-old daughter olive and mother-in-law who happens to be a middle school u.s. history teacher. >> it's amazing it's wonderful and i have so much to bring back to my students. >> and the showers that fell during the independence day parade soaked 6,000 participants and spectators and some parade

11:30. >> and holiday weekend turned deadly for a man spending this weekend at the jersey shore. ocean county officials are investigate the death ever a man that drowned and the 2-year-old man victim from yonkers new york was swimming at the beach non mantloking and went down and never surfaced. he was found unresponsive by lifeguards in bay head, new jersey. they have not revealed his identity and autopsy is is pending. fireworks may have been the source of fire that damage aid home in feltonville this afternoon. and philadelphia fire officials say the fire broke out just after 5:30 along the 4700 block of whitaker avenue smoke was coming from garage in rear when firefighters arrived the fire was brought under control 15 minutes and the fire is labeled suspicious in other news today place made arrest in murder of 85-year-old woman inside her home in east mt. airy. suspect is a man well known local handyman leroy wilson was

arrested today on the 300 block of brown street in norristown and charged in connection with murder of regina bruner holmes and will sop was known around the neighborhood as leroy he the andy man and had done work with her in the past. >> we believe he came to her door that night and she knew him from previous times where he worked for her and let him in and we believe he was steal from her and maybe she caught him in the act and with that set off he beat her and stabbed her. >> and captain james clark took time to commend homicide detectives for their attention to detail in the case. he said even through the beginning of holiday weekend they remained owe on this case until at rest was made. >> and police in philadelphia also asking for witnesses to come forward to help solve a homicide in kingsessing 8:45 p.m. tonight in the 1700 block of south 53 street. police say a 26-year-old man was
