philadelphia airport. it is falling apart by the time it gets by bensalem it may not be there. the wide view shows you a fair amount of cloud cover. we're starting to see breaks in the clouds over the terrace and i think overall it's a mix of sun and clouds today. the other part of the story warm and muggy air in place. 77 degrees right now in philadelphia. 75 in allentown. mid 70's in a lot of the region and dewpoints are up above 70 this morning and that's that threshold for oppressive humidity and that's what we're going to have today. you felt it yesterday. you're going the feel it even more so today. it's also going to be very warm this afternoon we spend most of the afternoon in the mid to upper 80's. by noon, 86. and by 3 o'clock that's your high of 89. there is the chance of another pop-up shower, a drenching shower or a drenching thunderstorm at times this afternoon. probably knocking off pretty quickly this evening but where those hit, even though they're spotty that will produce drenching downpours that could produce some isolated areas of poor drainage area flooding. how long does this warm and humid pattern last? i'll have

the answer in the accuweather 7-day coming up, matt. what about roads now? >> really optimistic for the evening commute. that sounds great. good afternoon. no, good morning to you david we're outside and things are starting to look a little better here in malvern along 202 southbound side approaching route 29, the great valley interchange. that crash that we had with the vehicle that was facing sideways now pretty much completely wrapped up. just some crews still left on the shoulder. stick with it, 202 southbound starting to look better. that's the better bet than yellow springs road now shut down because of an accident yesterday that damaged the knox covered bridge. it's closed indefinitely. again, 202 chesterbrook boulevard some possible alternates. on the big picture a new crash on the roosevelt boulevard northbound side at devereaux in the inner drive. in upper darby 69th street still closed because of yesterday's huge fire at the payless shoes. cobbs creek parkway can get you around that. on the highways just starting to seat typical morning slowing. this is 95 southbound now busy from academy through this point at cottman approaching

allegheny into girard and in new castle county we still have downed wires closing pyles ford road this morning. stick with kennett pike or even adams dam road as alternates on this tuesday. matt. >> thanks, matt. we begin with a developing story. detectives are investigating two separate shootings in the city's grays ferry neighborhood and one of the victims is a six-year-old boy. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside south detectives with more on this. katherine. >> reporter: that's right, matt, these were two separate incidents and one of them a six-year-old boy is now in stable condition after being shot in the foot while he was playing basketball. in the other, two men were shot and one of them has died. investigators from here at south detectives were called to both of these scenes last night, though one of these is now being handled by homicide and in both cases investigators are looking for tips. two shootings in grays ferry overnight within an hour apart. shortly after 11 o'clock last night, a six-year-old boy was rushed by his parents to children's hospital of philadelphia. he had been shot once in his

foot. witnesses told police a group of 10 to 20 adults, teenagers and children had been playing basketball in the rear driveway of a home on the 1800 block of south 31st when they heard the single gun should there and realized the child was hit. police are interviewing family and friends to figure out what happened. >> we couldn't find any ballistic evidence at this time. we don't have any description of the shooter or shooters. we don't have a motive for the shooting. >> reporter: then around midnight dozens of gun shots rang out on the 1200 block of south 28th street. police found one man lying in the road. he had been hit multiple times. officers rushed him to the hospital where he later died. a second man showed up at hahnemann university hospital by private auto. he had been shot in each of his legs. police found more than two dozen shell casings of multiple calibers. >> scene that's approximately about a block and a half to two blocks long. we believe it may be some type of ambush or shootout at the

least. >> reporter: so far no arrests have been made in either of these cases. we're live at south detectives, katherine scott channel6 "action news." >> okay, katherine thanks so much. businesses in upper darby will be surveying the damage from a four alarm fire today. the blaze broke out at the payless shoe source on 69th street last night. 200 firefighters and emergency workers responded to the scene. two of them suffered heat exhaustion. seven stores have smoke heat or water damage. homes along the back of the burning building were evacuated as a precaution. >> a new bill cosby bombshell could breathe new life into open civil cases against the comedian. his accusessers say newly unsealed court documents back up what they have been saying all along, that cosby drugged and raped women. late last night the philadelphia native's attorneys released this statement. only reason mr. cosby settled was because it would have been embarrassing in those days to put all those women on the stand and his family had no clue. that would have been very

hurtful. the attorneys are referring in part to a lawsuit filed by a former temple professor 10 years ago. the testimony made public yesterday reveals that cosby admitted to obtaining quaaludes to give to women with whom he wanted to have sex. lawyer gloria allred represents some of cosby's accusers. >> this is a very big deal. because he's been trying to hide this truth from the public for many years. and so we're very gratified that the truth is out. >> more than two dozen women have accused cosby of sexual misconduct dating back more than 40 years. he has never been charged with a crime and the statute of limitations has expired on most of the reported cases. >> an audit revealed that a salem county clinic gave at least five children the wrong vaccination. the program in question is shots for tots at memorial hospital. 20 children and two adults were serviced. in one case, a two-year-old boy received a shot of

gardasil, a vaccine for hpv. the boy is now at risk for potentially harmful side effects. in another instance flu mist was administered a one-year-old child. the minimum age a child can receive the mist is two years old. there were also complaints of illegible charts. >> last week i got a letter out indicating we're going to be paying medical monitoring costs for all five cases and we're hopeful and certainly the child is going to be in our prayers and i hope your viewers put the child in their prayers. >> operations at the clinic have been suspended. >> this is new. the mayor of allentown is suspending his senate run because of an fbi investigation into his government at city hall. democrat ed pawlowski released a statement last night saying he has decided to focus on assisting federal agents. they seized documents related to allentown's contracting process on thursday. pawlowski said he will re-evaluate his political aspirations once the

circumstances of the fbi probe becomes clear. >> okay. another hot and humid day. >> uh-huh, yeah very warm, very sticky out there. storm tracker6 live double scan shows you earlier showers for the most part have gone off the map. some of you might see a little light something or other pop through over the next 15 minutes or so but most of what we had earlier is now dying away. as we take a look outside we do have some breaks in the clouds over the airport. in the distance are on the refineries you can see some sunshine starting to splash the sides of the metal structures back there. but sprite whether or not you have sunshine, it is very warm and very uncomfortable. 77 degrees in philadelphia. your dewpoint and this is the most important number here it's up over 70. that's pretty rare around here. every time we get that, it means oppressive humidity and that is what we are looking at today. you felt it in most of the region yesterday. you're really go together feel it today. winds are light, too, so not much relief from the wind. dewpoints across the region even all the way up to allentown and the poconos are

up above 70 and even worse down the shore and in places like dover and millville. anything over 70 is oppressive and our dewpoints suggest that everywhere today. future tracker six showing you a mix of clouds and sun through the morning. there is the chance of showers popping up again up north and then later in the afternoon perhaps closer to philadelphia anything that does pop today in this humid air mass could produce a drenching downpour. i would be careful about flash flooding on poor drainage areas. six or 6:30 most of them are spinning off to new york state. temperatures across the region today are going to stay warm. 78 by 8 o'clock. by 11 o'clock, we are well into the 80's and we spend the majority of the afternoon in the upper 80's. by 2 o'clock 88. 89 degrees is your high today at 3 o'clock and again a spotty but drenching shower or thunderstorm is possible through the afternoon in particular. high temperatures from north to south pretty toasty. 87 in allentown and trenton. in that reading you're at 88 this afternoon. 88 in millville.

down the shore you can get some relief. humid on the beach but highs of 84. and in fact if we take a closer look, any other only do we have those nice numbers on the beach but 76 in the water right now off atlantic city so a good beach day. swim near the lifeguards but you should be in pretty good shape. farther down the coast we still have mid 80's and ocean temperatures in the 70's off the delaware beaches as well. tomorrow a cold front comes at us. ahead of it we get up to 90. hot and humid and an even better chance of some gust twenty three thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon and evening. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, we're going for a high of 89 degrees today. very humid and soupy. a couple drenchers around. tomorrow hot and humid a high of 90. still very steamy and uncomfortable and some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening which could be drenching and gusty t on thursday, we ease it back to 82. it won't be as intense. a little humid a stray thunderstorm a couple showers but transitioning to better weather. by friday 86 is warm but it won't be as humid.

as you travel westbound from the roosevelt boulevard on out toward gladwyne but nothing in your way stept for except for all of the other cars. headed north on the lincoln drive reports of a crash along the lincoln drive between ridge avenue and gypsy lane. so, in that spot by the old 92nd precinct. fire investigation after that fire in upper darby blocking 69th street. i think cobbs creek parkway would probably be a better betly headed north on the boulevard this morning watch out for a wreck by devereaux in the inner drive. stick with the outer drive there and tacony palmyra bridge going up again very shortly. lots of little issues out there this morning includesing a new disabled vehicle in upper dublin along highland avenue at bethlehem pike. not bad so far on the westbound side of the pennsylvania turnpike. in bensalem a new crash along hulmeville road at lynn brook drive between the turnpike and bensalem boulevard. and crossing the river into evesham township yesterday they started the big new

construction that's closing tomlinson mill road through the late fall. that construction is going to send you over to 73 as your alternate. that looks okay so far this morning. and this is 42 just some building northbound volume not quite as heavy as it was yesterday. matt. >> thank you matt. new video of a car fire emergency in tennessee. by the time firefighters responded to the scene two witnesses had already pulled the trapped driver from the flames. the victim is a footer three young children and was not seriously hurt. officials blame the fire on a mechanical failure. thousands of thrill seekers kicked off the first day of the running with the bulls in pamplona, spain. they ran through the streets alongside six fighting bulls. local red cross workers say one person was gored and six others were injured. the bull run is part of pamplona's annual san fermin festival. a run takes place every day for the next week. >> new on "action news" the los angeles police department has announced that all 10,000 of its officers will attend a

retraining course. the move comes after months of protests over the deadly shooting of a man by lapd officers. the man's family has previously said the 25-year-old was mentally ill. the one day retraining course will focus on topics such as use of force and engaging with those who are mentally ill. south side carl's house of representatives could vote today on a measure to immediately remove the confederate flag from the statehouse. the senate yesterday overwhelmingly approved the bill. there's been a push to take down the flag since last month's deadly bible study shooting in charleston. >> pope francispope francis will hold another outdoor mass. firefighters sprayed water from hoses to provide relief from the sun and heat. the pontiff's schedule much schedule today includes meetings with bishops indigenous groups, students and a visit to a jesuit church.
