to work earlier this morning. tonight her attacker remains on the loose. and sunday night, i'm walter perez and the big story on "action news" is the search for a man that attacked a woman on a golf course in philadelphia early this morning. and it happened at the cobbs creek golf course in the city's overbrook park section. that's where "action news" reporter jeff chirico is live. >> philadelphia police need the public's help on this crime. the woman was walking a long this road on the way to work 3:30 this morning when attacked. it happened before daylight and the victim was walking a long carding ton drive when a man passed her on foot and turned around and grabbed her. he reportedly dragged her behind a tree on cobbs creek golf course and raped her. >> it's very horrifying and scary. >> the news does not surprise natasha warmsly who says she's always alert when walking a loan. >> it's secluded so people can pop out of anywhere trees bushes, you have to be careful

little egg harbor ocean county 4:00 this afternoon a 50 foot boat hit a sand bar and 13 people were on board. among thems with a woman in 60s that suffered head and neck injuries. no word why the boat ran aground and new jersey state police and coastguard officials are investigating this case. moving on to accuweather forecast. for july it's pretty comfortable out there tonight following a picture-perfect summer day. for now let's hope for repeat come sunday. meteorologist melissa magee is live at the big board with the accuweather forecast, melissa. >> walter we'll come close to repeat performance from mother nature. today was nice low humidity, highs across the delaware and lehigh valleys in the 0s and down into the 7 0s. 76 in philadelphia. 61 poconos along the coast in sea isle city 74. and 72 out to the west in dover. and check out the dew point it's level of moisture that is in the air and earlier today for city points north and west we had dew point temperatures in upper 50s lower 6 0s nice and comfortable.

however noticing a change. any time you have dew point temperatures at 60 or higher you will notice a slight increase in humidity and that's where we are seeing overhead right now. and here's part of the reason why stormtracker 6 live double scan radar showing you for the most part low humidity the month of july and what we're finding ridge of high pressure is moving to the west. earlier today we have those winds out of the northerly direction and they're shifting out of west, southwest which will help to tap into a slightly more humid air mass and still nothing unbearable for this time of year. we'll talk about what is ahead. we'll be heating up the second half of the weekend tomorrow. then you'll really notice increase in the humidity by the start of the workweek on monday and with that also comes threat of showers and storms. we'll take a closer look walter coming up in the full and exclusive accuweather forecast. >> the heat is on. >> thank you. >> and investigators are still trying to determine what started a fire that damage aid home in north philadelphia. you can see the damage to the upper floor of the home on the 200 block of west obtaino and

positive thing for all of us. in hunting park trish hartman "channel 6 action news." >> now to new jersey newsroom state police are investigating a fatal head on collision. it happened along route 49 and first avenue in a still manner in atlantic city. passengers of both cars were killed. as for the drivers they were taken to area hospitals. we don't know their conditions at this time. >> from delaware newsroom one person was killed during a two car crash in middletown had happened before 3:00 this afternoon summit bridge road near moral pit road and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. two other people were rushed to christianne medical center and no details of the accident are are released yet and no word of possible charges being filed in this case. >> a mystery on rhode island tonight investigators do not know what was behind the explosion at a popular beach that ended with a woman in the hospital. tonight officials are stressing there is no evidence after explosive device or foul play. but just before 11:00 this morning there was explosion under the sand at salty brian

beach. it was so powerful it was felt on land and water. a woman sitting in chair nearby was reportedly blown into the air. >> i literally stood up and walked away from there but it blew her right out of the chair. i never heard of anything like that we're at the beach all the time. >> we have no evidence or indication there was a device. this could be natural or manmade. at this point it's under investigation. now the beach is expected to reon tomorrow. we'll have more on this story coming up on "action news" at 11:30. >> and after 15 years the naacp voted to end economic boycott of south carolina and that decision came today during this year's national convention held right here in philadelphia. the sillville rights organization passed resolution today to end boycott of tourism and other economic activities coming a day after south carolina took down the confederate flag flying here the state house. president barack obama is

examininged to speak this come tuesdaying and event runs until the 15th. >> ocean city is one popular place to be tonight. thousands turned out for the annual night in venice boat parade this event kicked off with boat carrying miss knight in venice and court and twelve women vied for the title by raising money for local service organizations and crown went to the one that raised most. and within the parade a familiar face. af represents more than 1.6 million members nationwide. and man is murdered in own home and now his family is turning to you for help in solving this murder. here's rick williams with tonight's crime fighter's report. >> reporter: rabbi bill coon from congregation shalom says 65-year-old lee stanley was fixture in their synagogue. >> he dime services all the time. he was a constant presence in our congregation and just everybody loved him and waxed out for him. >> stanley described as eccentric had no known enemies. noon friday, august 15, 2014 stanley's body was found by workers on the floor in his living room. on the 100 block of mole street in center city, philadelphia. he suffered a blow to the chest and that proved fatal due to previous heart condition. and to this day his congregation is mourning his loss.

we had moisture early this morning across extreme southern sections of delaware and things clearing out and looking good for the receipt of saturday night. and in fact a lot of people out and about. sky6 live in hd looking at spruce street harbor park and we have a mostly clear sky and people are enjoying a nice night. it's relatively low humidity levels. high today in philadelphia 89 degrees. right now we're down into the 70s. 76 in city at this hour and 70 allentown and lehigh valley and along the coast 74 sea isle city and poconos 61 and satellite 6 and action radar there's moisture we had across the region early this morning skiringt by southern sections of delaware moving off south and east and really high pressure took over for remainder of day across much of new england and mid-atlantic region and you notice the clouds are starting to build and thickening out across the ohio valley and western sections of pennsylvania

and as we go throughout the sunday afternoon we'll have sun to start and fillederd sunshine as a few more clouds drift across the region and all in all it's really going to be about the temperatures and relatively low humidity levels. here's big change, however, the humidity was in check for a gu chunk of day with winds coming in out of the north and tomorrow, we switch the wind direction coming in from a west, southwesterly direction which means you will notice a slight increase in humidity and nothing unbearable and high temperature tomorrow otherwise coming in at 90. if you travel up north in the city and poconos sunday, 83. it's sunny and nice and if juror destination over the weekend takes you down at the shore 75 for ocean temperature and but as you head inland on the beach and sand it's really been a spectacular weekend at the shore and continues tomorrow, 82. partly cloudy and it will be warm. here's a call from accuweather the rest of tonight. mostly clear seasonably mild. dropping down to 6 suburbs and 69 in philadelphia and we had northerly wind overhead it is

starting to shift out of west, south westerly direction 6 to 12 miles an hour and hultty will be noticeable and not terrible until we get into the start of the workweek. here's the exclusive accuweather 7 day forecast heating up tomorrow. sunny and hot up to 90. and on monday turning more humid. warm one. high of 88. for the start of workweek we'll be tracking steer series of disturbances that move through thunderstorm possible late in the day monday and unsettled tuesday with showers and storms and becoming more numerous by then and in at 88 and this front we're tracking stalls out on wednesday and it's mostly cloudy and with thunderstorm areturned and high temperature of 87 and 85 with some sunshine on thursday friday we'll start clear out and mostly sunny sky. high of 86 and 88 as we get to saturday walter so and it's not a bad finish to the weekend here. >> not bad, thank you melissa. >> the french leave lution played out this evening in front of eastern state pententiary.
