on that night in arizona. first up weather and traffic. david off. karen here along with matt. good morning. >> and as you're driving this morning not only feeling noticeably more humid but you've got some downpours and thunderstorms happening right now. storm tracker6 live double scan showing that part of our region really getting hit especially in areas philadelphia and south. so you want to watch nor right now. we have noticed lightning strikes happening through this area so already a problem. the direction of this is moving up to the north and east so what's in wilmington getting hit is going to continue to hit philadelphia. we just have some showers now but they're going to be expanded. they have some flood warnings in maryland. not seeing that in our area just yet but storm tracker6 live double scan in motion showing how active this pattern is through the northeast. , see the heaviest and the strongest of the storms will escape us and we're not in an area of severe weather threat right now. that's not a we expect with this but some downpours are go together mean it's hard to drive through. 74 degrees currently in philadelphia, 69 in allentown 73 degrees right now in

millville. as we look at the day ahead we're going to see showers and thunderstorms at any point today. it's not going to rain all day. in fact we're going to have some sunny breaks but at any point you could see these downpours occurring kind of popping up in a humid air mass. 87 degrees for your high so just as warm as yesterday but even stickier than yesterday. details on how all this progresses through the day and when you're likely to get heaviest with these storms coming up in a minute, matt. >> sounds a little bit unstable to put it nicely. good morning to you karen. so far though stable on most of the roads as we look live here in king of prussia at the schuylkill expressway just starting to get a little bit damp and we have a traffic stop off to the westbound shoulder here by 202. but the eastbound overnight construction is gone. crews will return later tonight and there was no overnight construction on the vine street expressway in case you were wondering here by the schuylkill. everything remained opened overnight. but new milling and paving projects got under way nearby along market street between 30th street station and city hall as well as south broad street between city hall and washington avenue.

that was along south -- i was along south broad last evening and they were tearing up some of the lanes. you're going to see a bumpy ride as you travel through there this morning. as we said the naacp convention continues today at the convention center and the big guy is coming to town, president obama going to touchdown early this afternoon at phl. rolling closures along 95 likely up to the vine street expressway and then he'll leave so those rolling closures again in the early evening. we'll keep you posted throughout the day as the highways shut down. matt. >> matt, let's talk more about that right now. happening today, president obama will visit philadelphia to address attendees at the naacp convention. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live in center city with a preview. katherine. >> reporter: matt, the theme of this year's conference is pursuing liberty in the face of injustice. the criminal justice reform has already been discussed in the last several days and it will be again today when president obama takes the podium in his key note address. >> it's time for america's

journey for justice. >> reporter: naacp president cornell william brooks outlined what's ahead following a tense year of race relations across the country. and today president obama will be here in philadelphia, a key note speaker at the naacp annual convention. >> i'm going to lay out some ideas for criminal justice reform many of which are already getting bipartisan support. together we can make our communities safer. >> reporter: he'll call for reducing harsh sentences and lowering taxpayer costs to house prisoners. on the eve of his speech here, the president commuted the sentences of 46 drug offenders, 14 of whom had been sentenced to life. he said under current laws most would have already have served their time. the criminal justice system has already been a focus of this convention and the subject of a panel discussion. senator bob casey pushed a senate bill aimed at steering people from incarceration by offering more education. >> that's the tragic irony is we have all the data to

support prekindergarten education leading to fewer folks ending up in the prison system. >> reporter: prisons policing and the role of communities are also topics that are going to be discussed in the president's speech. we're live in center city, katherine scott, channel6 "action news"." >> new on "action news," police are working to see if a fire and a is the shooting at a home in delaware are connected. the fast moving fire damaged two homes in new castle county overnight. the fire broke out just past 11:00 on the unit block of bedford drive in edgemoor. it took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. one home was part of a shooting investigation from earlier in the day. a man was hurt in that shooting. no one was injured in the fire. >> two more bill cosby accusers have revealed their identities as they ask a judge to shed more light on 2005 sexual assault lawsuit. beth ferrier and rebecca neal say they were both drugs and

sexually assaulted by the famous comedian in 1986 in separate incidents. the women joined a court bid yesterday to unseal and release cosby's entire deposition transcript from a lawsuit brought on by a temple employee in 2005. a judge made portions of that deposition public last week including testimony from cosby where he admitted obtaining quaaludes in the 1970's to give women before they had sex. >> he's not the nice wholesome person that he was -- that he portrays on his show. >> it is important for the world to know the truth about how bill cosby hunted me like a predator. >> cosby has never been charged with a crime. >> more video has been released showing the former eagles quarterback donovan mcnabb being arrested on dui charges. in the footage mcnabb can be seen attempting to claim that he's simply trying to get home. he says he hasn't been drinking but has been sick and

taking cough medicine. >> first of all i've been -- i got a cold. so i've been on cough medicine. so, like i said, i got -- >> what kind of cough medicine medicine. >> robitussin. >> it was his second such arrest in the past few years. he was suspended indefinitely from his role at fox sports. >> a 14-year-old is recovering this morning from a long fall near the neshaminy creek in middletown bucks county. >> police say a group of children were swinging into the creek from a rope on a cliff 20 feet above when the boy lost his footing and fell. >> chopper 6hd was over the cliff yesterday near the 600 block of high point circle. rescuers raced to the scene and found it to be a tough area to reach. the boy was flown to children's hospital of philadelphia where he is now in stable condition. >> thank goodness he's doing better. >> thank goodness. scary situation there. today we've got some showers

and thunderstorms. they're going to be driving. there was as you head to work. i want to take you right to storm tracker6 live double scan and you can see that the heaviest storms are south and west of the city butter they're pushing closer towards philadelphia. i want to go in a little tighter with this, with double scan we can see that we've got some heavy rain through south jersey at this point near elmer, in wilmington we've got some light rain with heavier rain in newark, in chadds ford you're just about to get hit by all of this because the motion of this is moving up to the north and east. you have a cell right now not producing lightning at the moment near media but i think that will pretty shortly. in philadelphia just some scattered showers and jenkintown but you can see this heavier rain is going to push up to the north and east and i'll set that in motion so you can kind of see how that happens. so, be careful as you're headed outer. let's go on outside. we want to see exactly what it looks like right now as you start your day. we're with the clouds and showers as sky6 looks live at the center city skyline. we currently have a temperature of 74. it's warm, it's humid with the dewpoint at 68, so ah it's certainly very humid, more so

than yesterday. the winds out of the east and the barometric pressure has been falling. satellite6 and action radar showing how these storms have moved just in place just as we warned you they would at this point as you're driving through the day but you can look at this image and see it's not going to rain constantly all day but we've got a little break in the action then more thunderstorms popping through and that's the way the day is going to look. so i want to show you future tracker six at 9:30 in the morning, not everybody sees this but maybe a few more showers and thunderstorms and the problem is with the humidity so high it's just so much moisture in the atmosphere. you're going get localized flooding other roadway if you hit one of these storms. noon today we'll see showers maybe a thunderstorm popping up here or there. so not raining all day. in fact we're going to see some sunny breaks here or there but at 10 o'clock we're still dealing with this so the threat of these storms continues all day into the night. even though it's not raining constantly. so, by 8:00 a.m., it's 76. by 11:00 a.m., 81. by 2:00 p.m., 85. by 5:00 p.m., 86 coming down from your high of 87 with a

downpour at any point. so if you're at the shore you need to be mindful of that sitting on the beach you're going to have a shower or thunderstorm at any point. about 80 degrees along the coastline. a little warmer on the coast in delaware, 88 in beth thee beach for your high today. that ocean temperature dropped a little bit from yesterday. here's a look at your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. it's really humid today with downpours at any point. although not raining constantly today. 87 for your high. it still stays unsettled tomorrow. looks like the fronts comes through later in the afternoon with more downpours coming at times but then the big change comes thursday and the payoff after all this, nice and refreshing, a front sweeps all the humidity out, the rain we're dry and 82. friday's nice and bright and 84. saturday we're turning warmer, 88 degrees. just a chance on saturday and sunday for a shower at the end of the day, not big deal. it's just a warm and humid weekend. monday hot and humid 90 degrees. so, really unsettled today and tomorrow. we're not looking at any severe weather at this point but the downpours could be a problem to drive through.

with ponding happening just yet. so we're getting by okay. no problems on 476 there. elsewhere on 476 the northeast extension still have some overnight construction on the northbound side approaching the quakertown interchange. left lane out of commission because of that overnight work. and speaking of work, they started some new milling and paving work yesterday. we had a lot of that that got under way as the new work week got under way yesterday. this is in springfield and durham townships in bucks county, upper bucks county. portions of old bethlehem road they started to zaire up yesterday and they'll continue to do that today from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. so watch out for the crews watch out for a bumpy ride. now watch out for a brand new crash in abington along cricket avenue at spruce avenue. meanwhile on the east-west turnpike no overnight construction and speeds are still in the mid 60's. still overnight work going for about another 40 minutes or so. if you're traveling between cherry hill there by camden catholic and moorestown by the mall along 38 between

lexington avenue and nixon drive they're doing the milling and paving work out there until 6 o'clock. time for the commuter report brought to you by the waze app. let's see what our friends using the app are telling us about early on this tuesday. we have an alert here along the schuylkill. a pothole on the eastbound side near gulph mills. watch out to are that. matt. >> thank you matt. a teen is recovering from a plane crash in washington state. the girl walked out of the woods and waved down a driver yesterday afternoon. police say she had been walking for days and followed streams and rivers. search crews had been trying to find the small plane that also carried her step grandparents. it disappeared from radar over the weekend. there is no information on where the plane may have crashed or the condition of her two relatives. >> an international manhunt is under way to capture one of the most dangerous criminals in the world. overnight we learned that drug trafficker joaquin al chap poe guzman began plotting a brazen escape soon after his recap ler in february of 2014.

guzman escaped from a maximum security prison over the weekend. the prison director has been fired and dozens more are being interrogated. the reward for his return is over $3 million. this is new video on "action news." five teenagers were in hot water literally. they were pulled over in their makeshift swimming pool. this happened in michael minnesota last month. the state trooper who pulled them over initially thought they were just riding in the truck bed. the driver, the occupant and the three girls all got away with just a stern warning. >> baseball's all-star game takes place tonight at cincinnati's great american ballpark. kansas city's ned yost is managing the al squad, san francisco's bruce boke is on the nl side. phillies lone all-star game representative has had enough with philadelphia. jonathan papelbon says if he is still on the team following the july 31st trade deadline he will not be happy. the phillies closer also says if this decision was solely on

getting the hardest hit. in chadds ford right now if you're traveling in chadds ford near the route one media bypass you have some light rain but this heavier rain is headed in that direction and really heavy right now along route three near malvern not far from that, so west chester pike you're getting hit with that. looks what's happening down in elmer. this is about to hit route 40 because it's all traveling up to the north and east. in glassboro if you're headed to rowan right now some light rain but you can see that heavier rain headed through the area so that's the view on storm tracker6 live double scan. not just today but tomorrow, we have some scattered downpours. the trouble is it's slow moving. it's not going to rain constantly. those who get these storms you could get one to 3 inches of rain and you'll be driving through that on the roads, karenerin. >> soccer is hitting an all time high. player to player contact was the most common way concussions was sustained.

[laughter] >> good morning. we've got a busy morning as you're heading to work. i've been keeping in contact with the national weather service and this is just coming in now. a flood advisory until 9:15 this morning for parts of salem and cumberland county new jersey. with storm tracker6 live double scan we can show you exactly why we have those concerns. i want to go right into this area. this is the area we're seeing the heaviest rain. those areas of red and yellow, some really good downpours happening right now in south jersey. this is in bridgeton right along route. if you're about to head on 49 you're seeing the worst of it heading towards malaga, heading towards glassboro near rowan university. also seeing a new cell here. i wouldn't be surprised if this one starts to see lightning associated with it in millville. this is the area where we have the greatest concern with the flood advisory. ohio were we take another look
