>> delmarva officials say that a gas line forced evacuations in one wilmington neighborhood. "action news" was out on delaware avenue as firefighters went door-to-door to check gas levels athe 4:00 this after none residents were evacuated while this was being done and officials closed delaware avenue from lincoln to union streets because of a heavy gas odor and service was disrupted for several customers and working to remedy that problem right now. "action news" confirmed that a philadelphia police officer was officially charged today robert penn is charged with criminal conspiracy and obstruction among other things when penn was shot in overbrook park in march of 2014 prosecutors say that penn asked his brother-in-law to call the philadelphia daily news to report that he shot him. penn surrendered to the internal affairs division and who actually shot penn is unclear

organization stood up to lynching jim crow and segregation and helps to shepherd a civil rights act and a voting rights act. i would not be here and so many others would not be here without the naacp. in the second senry we work to give children a shot at education and help families rise up out of poverty and protect future generations from environmental damage and create fair housing and help workers fine the purpose of a good job. together we make real progress including my brothers keeper

initiative including the passage of a law that declares health care is not a privilege of a few but a right for all of us. [ applause ] we made progress but our work is not done. by just about every measure the life of some black americans still lag behind their white peers, our kids america's children, so often are isolated without hope, less likely to graduate from high school, less likely to earn a college degree and less likely to be employed and have health insurance and less likely to own a home. part of this is legacy of hundreds of years of slavery and

segregation and structural inequal inequalities that compounded over generations and it did not happen by accident. it's the result of of continuing is sometimes more subtle bigitiry whether who gets called back for a job interview or who gets suspended from school or a neighborhood you are able to rent an apartment in which is why our initiative to strengthen fair housing laws is so important. so we can't be satisfied until the opportunity is gapped for everybody in america. everybody. but today i want to focus on one
