was completely flooded out after 4 inches of rain fell on long beach island this morning. a whole lot of water fell on the jersey shore this morning it show what's an overflowing drainage system looks like. the water rose to two feet in some spots with poor drainage along a swath of long beach island. >> you drive over the island and you come to a corner and here is the water you look at the tide is it high tide or low tide and the rain has no place to go. >> this is the scene outside of kugel's liquor store even the parking lot looks like a river. >> i come outside to watch the cars go by because they send waves literally up to our front door. >> joey's pizza and pasta looked like it was on an island.

morning, limerick and montgomery county parts of southeastern pennsylvania seeing over 2 inches of rain earlier. dew points again the measure of the moisture in the air it's tropical this week, in the lower to middle 70s, that is why we have seen intense rain, those numbers are so high, as we look to the north and west they are falling into the 50s and 60s, that is the drier air that pivots through here during the evening hours in fact by tomorrow morning, allentown and lancaster will be in the upper 50s and 67 in atlantic city and turning breezy and kfrnlts and a couple of days we'll enjoy the comfortable air but heat wave number two will be back as well. >> thank you adam. if you are look to stay informed on weather watches and advisories stay 6abc.com is it

. philadelphia police have released images of four armed men that tried to break into a home in mt. airy, the resident heard a knock at his door and checked his surveillance camera and saw a man standing on the steps and three more men arrived and tried to push their way inside. they tried to rush inside but the man locked the door and they took off. two people were grazed by gun fire, a 70-year-old man and i 79-year-old woman was grazed in the 2800 block of north 25th. live in northwest detectives in logan tonight, "action news"

a multi-alarm fire damaged this darby township home early this morning, it happened just before 6:30 on the 600 block of clinton after now, at one point flames were shooting through the rof, there is no word yet what caused the fire, the naacp convention comes to a close tonight in center city philadelphia, and today former president, bill clinton gave the key note address at one of the final sessions spoke of the economy and criminal justice and the distrust of police, he spoke with delegates and spoke about the lowering of the confederate battle flag in south carolina. clinton says that that symbolizes hope for the fought. >> it wasn't the flag coming down it was what it did to the human heart the weight it lifted off of people. >> clinton called on people to use their voices and to vote and

a new jersey family is out rained after someone stole flowers from a memorial bench for their son. someone took the flowers from the bench, it was set up to honor casey brenner one of the four main line high school football players killed in a car crash in 2011, casey's dad says this is a special place for him and he just wants the flowers

training. because the buildings will be knocked down firefighters don't have to worry about damage they can vent roofs and break windows without concern as soon as you break the window we allow all the traps gases to get outside. >> the emergency center going through exercises helps the training. >> can you cut roofs and vent windows and vent hoses real windows real doors and real rooms, it's not familiar to us it changes it up a lot. >> new jersey does not permit setting fires for training but officers spend hours staging scenes putting wires in the way. >> if you don't practice how to do it it could kill you one day. they have joined west hampton training here and believe that this provides critical

trying to clear the weather out for fresh air and color temperatures, it's moving in to the northwestern suburbs, everybody enjoys it here, as we look at double scan live radar a couple of lingering showers moving off the coast and wilmington and one downpour around trenton and just to the east of philadelphia on route 130, and george town and parts of burlington county will get a last gasp of heavy rain and west of jackson mills but this is the introduction of the drier air that will filter in over the next fow hours. the action cam was out on this dreary summer day, many of our lawns getting way too much water

over the last month and a half, some areas have seen close to a foot and a half of rain since june 1st yes it has been a very wet summer. today's rain in philadelphia not a ton of rain we saw .75 inch and owner areas saw way too much. boyer town and berks county and folsom and tuckerton and vineland 2.2 inches of rain. it turns breezy and drier overnight tonight and a beautiful thursday is on tap, take a look at the wins, picking up to the north and west and 1 in philadelphia and 21 in reading and that is the drier air that is moving in with those northwesterly winds. in fact on thursday looking at the temperatures this after none, upper 70s to the north and west 82 in philadelphia and 70s at the shore and combine the
