>> good morning 5:30, saturday july 18. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." new overnight a center city book store is targeted by a gunman. we'll have the details. a man is hospitalized after he pulls out a gun and shot by police. plus the heat is on, get ready for the sweat factor to crank it up this weekend meteorologist joins us with a look at the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast.

it's been so nice. >> reporter: sweat factor, do we have that? >> i think it is the level of the amount of deodorant you wear. >> reporter: eva will be happy. it's going to be hot and muggy this weekend. there's the view of the ben franklin bridge. we have a thick overcast, but the clouds will give way to sunshine this afternoon. and the temperatures start to soar. we're sitting at 75. allentown, 72. trenton, 72. poconos 65. millville, 74. all the numbers are where they should fob this time. year but when you factor in the humidity it feels lousy out there. it will be the trend over the next several days. a cluster of showers and thunderstorms pushing through central pennsylvania. numerous cloud to ground lightning strikes being reported out here.

the gunman casing the store. around 3:45 the gunman returned he shot a worker in the back that person is critical critically wounded. he did not demand anything before shooting. detectives are talking to the other work are for any clues. a man shot called 911 when police arrived to help. they got into a standoff on the 1200 block of north 26th street. a woman answered the door and screamed at police and slammed the door. officers regrouped and entered the home a short time later they found a 41-year-old man shot in the neck. authorities are questioning the woman and teenage girl in the home. so far nobody is charged. a camden county metro police officer was taken to the hospital for a shoulder injury. philadelphia police are

trying to identify a man who shot officers after he pulled a gun from his waistband. the suspect is in critical condition with no i.d. >> reporter: this is the loaded gun police fear was about to be used against them. this is the bullet casing that may have been prevented. shooting scene at 8th and fairmont where hours earlier officers responded to a call of a man walking around with a gun. >> the officers ordered the male to show his hands. the male refused. the male grabbed his weapon and started pulling it from his waistband. one officer fired a shot and hit the suspect in the chest. they point out there officers showed restraint. >> this appeared like a justify i'll

3 days after the first ever fly by of pluto nasa showed off a landscape of that frozen plain spreading hundreds of miles.

and the temperatures will soar. sitting at 75. actually the entire area is sitting in the mid 70s. dewpoints have skyrocketed into the mid upper 60s we'll be hanging out in the 70s later today. tomorrow it will be oppressive out there all weekend long. you combine that with the high temperatures we're forecasting it makes for dangerous conditions in parts of the area. the cluster pushing through central pennsylvania that's weakening, it will keep the clouds in place over the next several hours. probably in the until 11:00 or lunchtime before we see the clouds thin out later this afternoon as the warm front passes through isolated thunderstorms develop in the heat of the day. not anticipating severe weather but we can't rule that out. these will be the gully washers type of storms. sunday afternoon the front
