armor, this is a lucky officer, second time he was hit by a bullet in the line of duty, saved by his body armor. it happened at this apartment complex at riverside drive the s.w.a.t. unit went there to arrest devon gashard. and that he tried to run. >> he spun and fired a round and shot the officer in the sfom ac with a .40 caliber semi automatic weapon. the officer returned fire striking the suspect. the officer has been treated at the hospital and went home to his family. the suspect died a short time after he was shot. police say he killed a pregnant woman last september she was an innocent woman struck by a stray bullet. the officer was also saved at

vernon odom talked to the family of the murder victim megan dodo and devon gashard. >> he was considered armed and extremely dangerous that is why the s.w.a.t. was sent out to serve a high risk warrant. he was looking for him for 10 months. the 25-year-old woman was eight months pregnant when she was sitting in front of this adam's rowhouse and was struck by the bullet and they were with unable to save her or her baby. people that witnessed the murder feared to be on camera because they were afraid of his family. >> he was a happy nice guy, i

away from pope francis's trip to philadelphia for the world meeting of families and the impact won't be limited to center city, new jersey officials gave an update on their plans but as john rawlins tells us there are unanswered questions especially when it comes to traffic on the bridges. the pope will not be visiting new jersey but this camden county emergency center will be up and running during his visit. it's expected that many coming to so the popes will be garden staters or pilgrams from over the bridges. >> we have communication with the fire departments and ems and hazmat teams. >> so how will people get from south jersey to philadelphia, patco, the mass transit system will be running at full capacity. >> we have capacity to move each day approximately 100,000 people

firefighters are letting a massive warehouse fire in new jersey burn itself out. the flames starting this morning in new brunswick, the firefighters say everything from plastic to carpeting to cars have burned in the building can a nearby apartment complex was evacuated after the siding caught fire. so far no reports of serious injuries. the jury that convicted james holmes for the colorado theater massacre is back in court deciding if he will live or die. the penalty phase got back

any from our delaware newsroom police say they caught the person that murdered a man in dover earlier this month. they arrested eric morton when he showed up for his parole check. they say he killed jamal weeks it happened on the 900 block. one man is fighting for his life this afternoon after being hit by a car while riding his bike in wilmington, it happened at lancaster avenue and rodman street. the man was already unconscious in the street when they showed up. you can see the damage to the windshield of the car after the impact of that crash. the victim here they say is in critical condition right now. still ahead a water park tells a little girl she can't use the slide the reason she might damage it. we'll explain coming up.

next to that atm today. >> brian here is the atm, this is just the shell the atm itself has been taken away after investigators were here earlier this morning. they tell me it looks like the explosive device was put here where the cash comes out and a camera across the street captures the aftermath, this is the video captured across the street of the atm blast. in it you can see two people running from the atm down luzerne street, and you can see debris falling in front of the surveillance camera, and then the suspects running towards and away from the atm likely looking for money. >> it was really roly loud. i'll tell you what, like a firecracker. >> investigators say that is likely what the explosive device was, something similar to this, it's a large illegal fire work

back home now with his children thanks to an extra long flap on his bulletproof vest. the 17 year veteran was shot in the vest while serving an arrest warrant for a man wanted in the death of a pregnant woman. it happened just after 6:00 a.m., police returned fire striking the suspect devon gashard, he was accused of killing megan dodo sitting outside last september and her baby also died. a handyman accused of stabbing and beating an elderly mown airy woman last month will stand trial a municipal judge ordered leroy wilson to stand charges for killing regina brunner holmes. police say they caught a
