>> the big story this morning is breaking news, the man opened fire in a crowded movie theater in lafayette louisiana last night he killed two people and wounded 9 others before turning that gun on himself. >> we know he is a 58-year-old man, katherine scott has more details live from the satellite room. >> reporter: police say releasing his identity would compromise the investigation. police say he fired first. >> we were sitting down to watch a movie and all of a sudden we hear gunshots. >> reporter: gunshots fired into a packed theater, 20 minutes into a 7:10 showing of train wreck, a gunman opened fire

fire and then turned the gun on himself. >> they called the swat and the cops. >> reporter: there were 100 people inside the theater at the time 0 of the shooter. this comes three years after james holmes opened fire at a denver movie theater killing 12 people wounding 70. >> i guess it's a reality check, everybody think that their hometowns are exempt from these things, we're above this craziness, but really we're just like everybody else in the end. >> reporter: investigators are checking several addresses trying to figure out where the gunman lived. >> thank you for that. hours before the deadly shooting president obama recorded an interview with the british network bbc.

residents were startled when firefighters banged on doors telling people to get out. they told me to get out of the house, there was a fire. >> the fire started to spread on my house and then it got worse it did damage to the roof, the kitchen, i can imagine everything is destroyed. >> reporter: over 70 firefighters responded it took 90 minutes to bring the inferno under control. >> they had a battle out of here. >> because of construction and the amount of fire they had when they arrived on location. >> all four condominiums were affected by the fire. >> this is all i have. >> reporter: she worries about the fate of the two cats. >> i don't come about anything about the two cats. i'm sorry. >> reporter: i'm sorry. >> i know they are doing the best they can. >> i'm not going to stay there

it happened around 7:00. so far no arrests. >> police have not released the identity of a woman found dead in a wilmington park. we're not sure how she died. her body was discovered on a slide in candy park after 10:30 some of her clothing was around her ankles. detectives looked over what were called identification cards. the death is called suspicious. >> still to come on "action news," the results of sandra bland's autopsy are out. find out what they reveal and how her family is reacting. >> it's a typical day in terms of humidity and the temperatures are right on average. some changes coming over the weekend. i'll run that down for you with

she ordered an independence autopsy. john kerry is defending the iran nuclear deal. u.s. senate foreign relations committee grilled kerry about the deal. carrie fielded questions about the deal which prevents iran from getting a nuclear weapon for the next 15 years. many republicans are skeptical about the deal. congress has 60 day review period to vote on the bill, president obama promise to veto any bill that blocks the deal. >> online company wal-mart is the nation's biggest retailer. amazon has passed wal-mart. you'll see something newer around here from it. walmart is ending its overnight

county downed wires causing an issue. they have shut down route 38 closed between smithville road in burlington county. we have fire police on the scene. fire crews have cleared the area. utility is trying to repair the downed wires. 38 is a main road to shut down. stick to 6 30, window lane road. new castle county we have an accident that cleared but traffic on the delaware memorial bridge blocking one lane in each direction. broad street, northbound traffic moving just fine toward oxford section. we had an accident on the ramp boulevard north to broad street. all lanes back open. not the case on the pennsylvania turnpike eastbound approaching delaware valley we have a construction crew blocking the left lane, speeds at 40 miles

per hour look for that. >> a new study says the roads in trenton are the worst in the country. a national transportation research group analyzed the stud by the federal highway administration. 18% of the roads are good and nearly half were given the worst rating of poor. car owners in trenton paid an extra $746 a year in maintenance and gas. >> this morning police are trying to determine what caused a tractor-trailer to smash into a pennsylvania house. this was the scene on wednesday in peters township. nobody in the home was hurt, but the impact tore off the back corner of the house. the truck driver walked away with minor injuries. no word if any charges will be filed. straings jump into -- strangers jump into help to get
