philadelphia. the big story is the return of humidity. how long does it last? we'll talk about that in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast when i step inside in just a few minutes. >> a mother and one-year-old daughter stabbed and left critically wounded. police are looking for the attacker. the mother and daughter were found by police responding to a domestic situation. the stabbing happened on dallas road. police have not said who stabbed them or why. >> police searching for robber who is tied up two cvs employees in delaware county. the robbers both men got away with cash, investigators have not said how much, no injuries were reported. >> the baseball world is buzzing about this first for cole hamels. the former world series m.v.p. topped a no hitter in chicago. he has never done it so well.

possibly on the sticky side, 95 degrees, wees back into the # 80s with a thunderstorm. >> several people were hurt after a children's ride toppled over in kentucky. seven people including children were hurt when the swing ride which spends riders in the air malfunctioned and tipped over. most of the injuries were minor the cause of the accident is under investigation. we'll be right back.

>> a small plane crashed in a quiet neighborhood in tokyo

killing three and injuring several others. the dead included a the pilot and passenger and woman on the ground. three people were pulled from the wreckage alive. the plane was on its way to an island 100 miles south of tokyo. the cause of the crash is under investigation. >> hundreds of firefighters are balloting a wildfire in northern california. it's forcing people from their homes. the locally fire has -- the lowell fire is charring four thousand acres. police are looking for a person of interest driving a jeep wrangler sparking this massive blaze. a hotel guest took these pictures of a two-alarm blaze of the bamboo pool on the 13 floor.

the cabana as and artificial palm drenches fueled the flames. >> as trees went up, the plastic from the palm were dripping down on the cabana chairs and roofs. with the a little bit of wind that was going on at the time it took off like a rocket. >> fire officials say some of the hotel guests had their windows open which allowed the smoke to get into the hotel. two people were troated for minor -- treated for minor injuries. >> the size of medical devices keep shrinking making it easy for doctors to use and less traumatic for patients. that includes small heart pumps that can be put into the heart

yesterday, a family was put in danger by the rip currents. it was the local beach patrol that saved the day. >> reporter: the day ends with fun on the wildwood boardwalk but it began with scary moments on the beach. a family of four caught in a rip current and the lifeguards were not on duty. >> i saw a woman screaming for help. i didn't understand what was going on. >> reporter: beach goers were swimming as lifeguards were taking their stands just before 10:00 a.m. >> i saw three people in distress, i turned around and blew my whistle to notify the other lifeguards. . guards rushed into the water and rescued one female and three male swimmers. one was unconscious. >> we started cpr right away. we went in and team two trailed us. >> when he returned to patrol headquarters, john got a hero's

welcome from his fellow guards for administering the cpr. >> it was an adrenaline boost. a lot of training kicked in everyday because we go over it everyday. >> the head of patrol said the family was lucky and points out the dangers of swimming in the ocean when lifeguards are not on duty. >> when they are not there it's risky. >> reporter: the family was taken to cape regional medical center for valuation. police have not released their names or conditions. patrol things they will be okay. a word of advise from lifeguards. even if the water looks calm there are rip currents out there. reporting in wildwood, cape may county, jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> cole hamels has been a world series hero, but he has never thrown a no hitter on his own in the big leagues until yesterday. the lefty conquered the cubs.

us, sky6 live hd looking at wilmington delaware, really, nice bright and shiny but more comfortable sitting in the air can understand studio. >> reporter: we're seeing the humidity tick up this morning the nice ride we had this week is coming to an end. as we look outside, storm tracker 6 live backing up the sky 6 image we just showed you. you can see we're basically dry locally. there's a bit of a shower and failing thunderstorm up over connecticut. that is pushing over areas of eastern long island and going straight out to the ocean we don't have to worry about that. as we take a look outside we do, once again have sky 6. you can see sun splashing down on the tennis courts at temperature university. not a great day for tennis, but it will be humid than the last couple of days. that's the first highlight of the forecast. we'll talk about humidity is in the process of returning.

probably stays with us for a little bit. later in the forecast there's a chance of heat wave number 3. 73 in philadelphia. as you wuk outside, 70 in wilmington. 73 in millville. and upper 60s along the boardwalks this morning. satellite and radar showing you there's lots of sunshine and few clouds here and there. as the day goes on there's a transition to sun and clouds mix. there's a chance of unstable air mass and pop-up shower or thunderstorm later in the day. most of this holds in the poconos, but could dip farther south. 2:30 something a little shower around allentown and something over by trenton. there is the possibility that the northern suburbs pick up something. obviously most of the action is farther to the north. the dinner hour, the best chance of a thunderstorm farther to the north.

keep your eyes out for that as you head into the later part of the afternoon and evening. in the lehigh valley, late thunderstorm can't be ruled out. the big story the up tick in humidity and high of 89 degrees, down the shore 83 degrees, sun and clouds in the afternoon. more humid down the shore the big issue down the shore is the rip currents they were a problem yesterday and today we're looking at a moderate chance of rip currents, too. the ocean temperature is in the 70s. you might want to get in the water for that reason. do it next to the lifeguards and keep your ears out for the whistles. don't go too deep today, they will be whistling you in anyway if you try it. spotty thunderstorm in the northern and western suburbs are winds out of the west/southwest. not a hold on to your hat day. we spend the afternoon in the upper 80s with more humidity
