the hospital. >> the boy scouts of america are set to reverse a long-standing policy of gay leaders in the rank. but the big story is the search for a hit-and-run driver who slammed into two brothers in a car. it happened at luzerne and i street in the june at at that section of -- juniata section of philadelphia late last night. john rawlins has more. >> reporter: police are looking for alberto vangus. they believe he was driving the suv in the hit-and-run. police believe he lives near the crash site and marked by broken glass, they look torched him as soon as -- to find him as soon as possible.

>> a killer, basically. he can do it again if he is not caught. natalie hall referring to the driver of the suv that killed francis arroyo and injured his brother osvaldo arroyo who is out of hospital, but did not feel well enough to talk to reporters. the hit-and-run occurred last night at 10:30 stems from the front door the brothers were working on the green van what it was decided osvaldo arroyo would jump into a small car and take his brother home a few blocks away. as they pulled out the suv slammed into them. >> the family is very close they have always been that way they worked on my car, they are my mechanics it's a tragic

loss. >> reporter: the family is hoping the public helps the police find the driver and hopes the public can find the family pet, max this little dog was in the car and ran away in flight. ana has a special needs child and there's a special bond between the dog and the patient. >> you not only brighten the child by touch but the family member. after losing an uncle will lose manslaughter's best friend on top of it unless someone has a heart and reaches out and returns the dog. >> reporter: well that's the hope at this point there's going on to be rough times for the family as they grieve in the months and years one possible bright spot would be the return

chopper 6hd was in west philadelphia this morning when crews responded to black smoke coming from a septa manhole in the area of 4th and girard. the off ramp from i-76 was temporarily closed as officials investigated the cause the smoke subsided and traffic was allowed back in the area. >> pgw crews are on the scene of a reported gas leak in southwest philadelphia in the area of 56th and willows avenue. chopper 6 was overhead atmosphere firefighters blocked off the neighborhood. a homeowner smelled gas and called emergency workers. pgw crews found a problem with a hose connection, 6 people were evacuated while the problem was fixed. 6 adults reported missing while tubing down the delaware river were found safe and sounds in the overnight hours. they want missing at 8:45 while
