wow, it feels wonderful out. especially considering we're in the midst of a heat wave. the poconos 49 degrees, temperature-wise it's not all that bad. we don't have too much humidity to speak of. if you have a chance to get out early and enjoy the comfortable air. yesterday, philadelphia, 90 degrees, we managed to hit that for only 15 minutes, out of a 24 hour day only 15 minutes were we ever in the 90s that's all you need. as long as philadelphia keeps punching out 90s the heat wave continues. atlantic city another 90 degrees. everywhere else made it into the upper 80s. wilmington, 88. yesterday, pottstown, 87. allentown, yesterday, topping out at 86. current temperatures, tanersville, 58 degrees, look at the 50s showing up north and west. coatsville, 59. oxford, 59. chester 59. saint davids getting into the

a 17-year-old is accused of shooting the boy twice in the stomach yesterday afternoon. it happened near the pool at veterans memorial park. >> there was an altercation that took place outside of 9th street and chase ensued in which the shooter was chasing three young boys and the shooting occurred on 7th street. the child was conscious and alert when he was taken to the hospital. the 17-year-old suspect is expected to be prosecuted as an adult. >> it appears vice president joe biden is considering a run for the white house. his political team is exploring a presidential campaign and talking to democratic donors. he will determine whether to run or personally do any planning. he will make a decision as soon as september. if he does decide to run he will face off against five other

rescue off the coast of georgia after the boat of a mother and daughter capsized. the chopper plucked the two out of the atlantic ocean about a mile out to sea. the .16 boat became grounded around 4:00. the two put on their life preservers and called for help. the boat capsized. the coast guard helicopter spotted the pair in a bright orange vests and they are doing just fine. >> nice weather out there, chris. >> reporter: it's warm out there, but comfortable. let's get outside as we go live on sky 6 down in wilmington. it's not humid out there. high temperatures this afternoon will top out around 90 degrees which would officially keep the heat wave going, but when you don't have that kind of oppressive humidity it actually feels okay. double scan live crystal clear,

>> reporter: two dozen large fires burning across california sparked by lightning strikes igniting dry ground. conditions so treacherous they claimed the life of david ruhl, a 38-year-old firefighter who vanished in the flames. he became trapped after the fire changed direction because of the erratic windy. >> because of the drought stricken vegetation we're seeing more fires that is abnormal for this time of the year. >> reporter: thursday, more than 400 lightning strikes reported sparking 60 small fires in the region. 91,000 acres have burned so far. that's over 142 square miles or an area roughly the size of denver. those nearly 9,000 firefighters are battling these flames. the biggest fire is the rocky fire near sack meant tow only 5% contained and forced 650 people

aramingo. rescue crews found the body of a swimmer who went missing on friday in berks county. the body was discovered yesterday. witnesses say the 20-year-old man dove into the quarry and never came back up. there's no word on what led up to the incident. officials say divers found the body 40 feet below the surface. three people were hurt when a dart bus collides with a car in new castle. the crash happened at route 13 and baylor road. two adults and one child were rushed to the hospital. the city of brotherly love did not live up to its name in this case. a hitchhiking robot that started out in canada hitchbot was a

social experiment that depended on the kindness of strangers to get to its destination in san francisco. yesterday, a stranger was anything but kind damaging the robot. they received a picture but could not track its location. the robot could carry on a limited conversation and take pictures and work as a gps. new this morning, massive rallies are being held across israel to protest the killing of a teenager killed by israeli forces. the teen was protesting over the killing of a palestinian toddler by jewish extremist. today israeli government was called on to take action against the killing of the teenager and toddler. the protesters joined the gay community to protest the stabbing of 6 people taking part in a gay pride march in jerusalem. this is into "action news"

a second object has been found believed to be from the missing malaysia plane discovered 15 miles from the first piece of plane that washed ashore on union island off madagascar. the wing is in france to be tested today. the french experts hope to determine if it is part of the wreckage flight that disappeared on mar 8, 2014 with 239 members on board. last year more than half of the fire-related deaths in the city happened in homes without working smoke alarms.
