reading, 62 and trenton 65, as alicia mentioned there is no humidity out here at all. satellite and radar, we are crystal clear for as as far as you can see from philadelphia to the least to the far western suburbs, jersey shore. everybody enjoying a mostly sunny sky this morning. high, thin clouds across cape may county they will thin out this afternoon. 74 degrees at 9:00 a.m. lunchtime, 82. 3:00 p.m., 85. high, thin clouds this afternoon not a big deal. 6:00 p.m., another 85 forecasting a high of 86. it's a nice, quiet start to the weekend. tomorrow looks just as nice. high temperatures topping out in the mid 80s. it's a comfortable dry weekend overall with seasonable temperatures. the only negative in the forecast if you're down the jersey shore it's not in terms of the weather rather the rip current risk it's increased thanks to a storm developing off

the coast and pulling out to sea. there will be rip currents and four to 6-foot waves bashing the shoreline. it is important you pay close attention to the lifeguards if you venture into the waters. we'll focus on that when i have the seven-day forecast when i see you again. >> a young man was stabbed to death on a northeast philadelphia street. the action cam was on the scene of the 7300 block of revere street. police say a confrontation among several people may have started at 3:00 a.m. at a nearby bar on cottman avenue. it spilled on to the street, someone stabbed a man he died at the hospital. police are looking for a for the 150 that was seen racing off. a body of a man was found

around 3:00 a.m. in the backyard of his sister's home. the man had a stab wound to the chest. several residents at a drug rehab facility were arrested after they controversy dosed on drugs. >> reporter: "action news" was on the 600 block of henry avenue calls to 911 reported that four men overdosed and acting crazy. >> when paramedics got here to transport all four males to hospitals, they were unruly and becoming violent. >> reporter: police say the men three of them in their 40s and one in his 20s appeared to be on a new synthetic drug called k2. >> it's a synthetic marijuana. it's a strong type of synthetic

marijuana that causes users to become violent and had a hallucinate. >> reporter: a slew of paramedics had to rush here after 12 cases reportedly overdosed on k2. chopper 6 was on the scene as patients were loaded into ambulances and taken to local hospitals. >> there's been aiferlt young people and -- a lot of young people and young adults who have been rushed to the emergency rooms. >> reporter: the facility houses public and private patients for drug and alcohol withdrawal. >> it's a joke, it's ridiculous, it's full of drugs and people are falling out

everyday, there's ambulances here everyday picking them up. >> reporter: department of correction will sweep the place for drugs, but after a few days, the drugs will return and be like they have been. again no comment from the officials at the facility. in east falls, dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> a south jersey family is homeless after their home nearly burned to the ground. "action news" was on the scene after firefighters sprayed water on the home. the two-alarm blaze sparked in hammonton, atlantic county. everyone got out safely. there's no word on what may have sparked the fire. james holmes will be spending the rest of his life in prison for killing 1 people and -- 12 people and wounding 70 others inside a colorado movie house. the verdict came down last night

fortunately the storm is not pushing to the north. it's heading out to sea. we'll see cloudiness this morning that will give way to sunshine this afternoon. look at the wave heights on the northwest side of the low. the low is sitting right here, four feet on the coast five feet offshore, and 6-foot swells out here. all that pushes east as the day wears on. s the swells increase, so does the threat of rip currents. sun and clouds, breezy. winds out of the northeast at 20 to 25 miles per hour. that will hold the temperatures in the mid to upper 70s but it increases the risk of rip currents. be careful pay attention to the lifeguards. rehoboth beach and bethany beach 80 degrees. >> in sports this morning the phils have opened their west coast swing with a slugging performance. they were locked into a 3-3 tie

headliner. mainly clear skies and pleasant temperature of 74. looking ahead tomorrow, fantastic get out and enjoy it. monday we increase the chances of showers and thunderstorms. tuesday there's a possibility of big, big thunderstorms lots of drenching downpours and cloud to ground lightning strikes. we'll focus on that in the seven-day forecast when i see you again in just a little bit. >> new from our delaware newsroom this morning, a man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car in bear. the action cam was on the scene late last night at route 40 and ricky boulevard. police say the victim was trying to cross route 40 when he was hit by a car. while lying in the road a second car swerved to avoid him and ended up hitting the first car. the man was flown to the hospital in critical condition. a woman and four children are seriously hurt after a crash in gloucester county. it happened around 8:30 on the 2,000 block of winslow road in

monroe township. the woman lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole. the woman and children were rushed to the hospital. there's no word on their conditions. an american airlines plane landed safely at philadelphia international airport after crews declared an emergency after takeoff. scary moments here. flight 669 taking off from philadelphia before 9:00 p.m. heading for seattle. the flames were reported from its left engine visible enough to prompt calls to 911. the airbus circleed for half-hour an hour and landed an half-hour later. luckily there was a calm, cool pilot at the controls as we can hear from his conversation with the tower.

>> american airlines said i believed unburned fuel was burning off as the plane took off, which the company said is very common and no part of the plane was ever on fire. there was 138 people on board the flight. nobody was hurt. happening today pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane is expected to surrender to face criminal charges. kaen has been charged with purjury and obstruction of justice for leaking grand jury secret information to a newspaper reporter and lying under oath. she will be processed in norristown and arraigned over closed circuit tv by a judge in collegeville. she will plead not guilty. police are trying to track down the gunman who murdered a 2 #-year-old last week.

>> u.s. secretary of state john kerry is in vietnam where he held a meeting with the country's president. the two sides are marking the 20th anniversary of the normalized relations between the two countries but said the relations will not improve until they improve human rights record.

kerry is a veteran of the vietnam war. it is the last stop on his five nation tour. president obama flew to mar martha's i didn't know -- vineyard a day early. this is the 6th time the president has stayed on the island since becoming president there's a chance during his vacation he'll get a visit from hillary clinton. the indiana state fair got a lift on its opening day. take a look at this. you could say it was full a lot of hot air on its first day. dozens of hot air balloons filled the sky. the state fair showing off their agricultural products while offering 47 rides for adults and children along with every type of food you can find in the state. that looks like a lot of fun and so beautiful.

60s, plenty, 70s oppress oppressive. we're doing already today tomorrow equally as nice. monday and tuesday borderline oppressive that triggers showers and thunderstorms, but that's a ways out we'll focus on the good which is this weekend. with a high pressure moving in from the north it will supply us with sunshine today and tomorrow as the low works out to sea. there's the high pushing from the great lake states into the delaware valley. today is a good one. tomorrow equally as nice, high pressure drifting to the south. we'll lose the breeze tomorrow, combination of sun and clouds as the coastal storm pulls into new england and the canadian maritimes. we get into monday, the high kind of disappearance and this area of low pressure increases
