crash on the new jersey turnpike. the collision sparked an explosion and fire near exit 9. in east brunswick, one of the trucks was carrying paper, the other was transporting medical supplies. we have been getting video of the crash from viewers at the scene. the crash happened at 8:00. police quickly shutdown the northbound side of the turnpike and traffic was backed up for miles. they have only recently reopened a couple of lanes to traffic. both drivers suffered minor injuries. one of them being this driver whose clothes caught on fire as he ran from his burning vehicle. witnesses came to his aid. he will be ok. she is the top law enforcement officer in the common wealth of pennsylvania, but she is also an alleged purger, obstructor of justice. and her first public comment came today. she insists that she is the target of a grand plan by

prosecutors and judges. according to kathleen kane, it all starts with pornography. "action news" reporter, sharrie williams, is live at the big board with the full story. >> kathleen kane says the version of the story that's been out there is incomplete and inaccurate. she proclaimed her innocence saying this entire ordeal is linked to pornography and offensive emails that happened before she got in office. in her first public comments since charges were filed against her, kathleen kane did not mince words. >> my defense will not be that i am the victim of an "old boy's network" or otherwise. my defense is that i broke no laws of this commonwealth, period. >> she defended herself in height of being accused of leaking secret information from a grand jury investigation to a newspaper and later allegedly lying about it. >> i am innocent of any wrongdoing. i neither conspired with anyone,

nor directed anyone to do anything illegal. >> the indictment against kane was filed last week by montgomery county d.a. and kane says this is not really about a press leak, she says it is a story of government employees trying to keep a string of emails from going public. emails that kane potentially could have the power to release. >> it began with a group of state prosecutors and judges passing pornographic, racially offensive and religiously offensive emails amongst each other. >> kane says she discovered the offensive emails in the a.g.'s office dating to corbet's ten tour. claiming the judges and the lawyers buried it using the grand jury. >> some involved in the email tried to make sure that the

emails and their attachment to it never saw the light of day. >> and kane called on the judge to release the emails in question. jim, she also made it clear she is not resigning. >> thank you. an 8-year-old in stable condition tonight after he found a gun and accidentally shot himself. police say the boy was talking in the park in germantown. he picked up the gun and it discharged and hit him in the foot. and driven to the medical center, the police still looking for the gun. details coming in about the massive explosions that destroyed a terminal in the port chinese city where the number of dead is at least 17. there are reports that nine of the victims are firefighters.

a teenager is safe tonight after he was rescued from the ocean off the coast of new jersey. last night dylan was on a jet ski on his way back to high lands, new jersey when he hit something. the jet ski started sinking. he swam to a tower in the water and climbed to the top. he tried to flag down boats but they didn't see him. so he stayed there all night. nine hours. when the sun came out, he decided to swim. >> i knew it was like a four-mile swim from where i was. so i hopped in the water and started swimming. after about 25-30 minutes of swimming, i saw a united states

mission to haiti. it is the poorest county in the western hemisphere and they fear that people there are being forgotten. and ali gorman joins us with the story and lest we forget you were on a mercy mission to haiti what, a couple of years ago. >> i was. it was an experience that stayed with me, and that's why i was drawn to this story. a local medical team who raised money for their trip and traveled with a filmmaker documenting the need tore help in haiti. one veteran nurse stays she has seen progress, but there is still a very long way to go. these 22-day-old twins are the first patients that she saw when they set up a clinic in the mountains ever haiti. the baby's mother was dehydrated and not able to make enough breast mill talk feed both. >> one twin literally was dying. >> she says that haiti is a

spark difference from her every day life as a pediatrician in mount laurel. >> and you don't see the poverty you see, mile after mile. >> it was her first trip to haiti, but registered nurses maggie and teresa have gone several years. they call themselves lifers. >> the people over there are so resilient. and humble. and gracious. and that's what keeps me going back. >> this year, maggie's brother, a filmmaker joined them and is sharing his video with "action news." >> i think most people in the u.s. might have forgotten about haiti. we heard about the earthquake and we heard about what happened, but that was five years ago. and i think that people don't realize how bad haiti was. >> and that was something that struck me on my trip to port-au-prince with project med-an share.
