phillies franchise for year on a team wing the world series. and loved for his attitude on and off the field. but tonight chase utley is changing teams. wednesday night, jim will be along shortly from argentina. i'm monica malpass. the big story is it chase utley traded to the l.a. dodgers just minutes ago. let's go right to "action news" sports director ducis rodgers for details. >> the trade went official about 15 minutes ago. chase utley, one of the best and most popular players in franchise history played his last game in a phillies uniform. he spent 13 seasons here. a six-time all-star. here are the details. utley and cash go to the los angeles dodgers for outfielder darnell sweeney and right-handed pitcher john richy, both minor league players. and chase utley had full no-trade protection in his contract. and he agreed to the deal, he is from southern california so this is a move home for him and his family. he's also going to a team that plays in first place. the dodgers are in first place

in the n.l. west. moments ago chase utley talked about leaving the phillies, going home and a chance to win another world series. >> the dodgers are a team that i grew up watching. i remember going to the 1988 world series game with my dad. so there's definitely some family ties there. and it was very, very difficult decision for me and my family to go. it's not so much changing uniforms, but it's really about leaving this city that has given so much to me over the course of the 12 or 13 years that i've been here. so it is definitely difficult. like ruben said, it's time. >> he has been a huge part of this team and this city for the last 13 years. he ranked in the top 10 in nearly every significant offensive category. in l.a. he will be re-united with jimmy rollins and we will hear from him later in sports. >> thank you.

"action news." dann? >> monica, authorities say this was a very bad guy that was taken off the streets. terrorizing women while pretending to be a u.s. marshal. accosting them by gunpoint and sexually assaulting them. and the arrest captured in video in this exclusive report. an "action news" viewer captured the dramatic scene as u.s. marshal's attempted to arrest tamango johnson. arrested while running from a home. and during the melee a marshal ship by a vehicle and seen limping away reaching for his leg. >> we were contacted by our counterparts in baltimore asking for assistance to locate and apprehend mr. johnson. >> intelligence-gathering techniques led them to colwyn

after he allegedly impersonated another u.s. marshal and raped them. >> and when he got their confidence he produced the gun and demanded sexual favors from them. when they didn't comply it got physical and he would rape his victims. >> according to court records he has a long history of doing this going back to 2005. >> he has an extensive criminal history including impersonating government officials and firearms offenses as well. >> and neighbors in colwyn were alarmed to hear he was hiding out here staying with a women who was also taken into custody. >> and he is raping women that is uncalled for, get him out of here. >> i have a beautiful wife and daughter, we don't need anybody like that around here. that's how i feel. >> by the way, i am told the marshal struck by the vehicle covered cuts and bruises but

otherwise will be ok. meanwhile edwin johnson expected to be extradited back to baltimore to face charges of rape, sexual assault, weapons and related offenses. live at the federal building in center city, dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> thank you, dann. this is the end result of a police chase tonight. a wrecked s.u.v. at the transportation center, the right wheel ripped off the axle. officers were pursuing two suspects wanted for weapons violations. this chase started at 7:00 in the 6700 block in the oxford section of the city, and it ended about a mile and a half away at frankfort terminal. no one hurt, suspects in custody. and a possible broken leg after this accident in burlington, new jersey. at 9:00 at lincoln street, the s.u.v. did stop at the scene. the police have not said yet if any charges will be filed.

40-year-old emily feeney of wayne had nothing though say to reporters today about the allegations that she tried to pressure a 16-year-old malvern prep student into having sex with her. prosecutors say the college counselor told the boy she could get him admit into harvard in exchange for sex, and she also sent him topless photos. he told her "i am not interested in you, end of story, i am 16. i am not into you." and then he went to police. feeney free on $7500 bail. a fancy main line restaurant shutdown for roaches has bigger problems on its hands. yangming closed until further notice after they found numerous violations besides the bugs. and annie mccormick live with the latest tonight. >> the officials say the conditions are so bad that they could be closed for a very long time. they also said they can face health and building code violations and hefty fines. >> we walked through this place

>> we have an explosion. it looks like the east side of model 6 just exploded. >> 16 rooms at this hotel were blown to bits in washington. two firefighters were also flung back 20 feet by the force of the blast. and a gas worker in critical condition. tonight, we are getting the first look at the very instant of that explosion from surveillance cameras around the motel. various angles showed the power of the blast last night. two model guests still unaccounted for, but officials believe they were not inside of theable at the time. they may just be out of touch, that's what they're hoping. the rest of the guests are thanking this woman, the motel manager, from getting everyone out to safety right away as soon as she smelled gas. three firefighters died and at least three injured battling a wildfire in eastern washington. the wildfire near twist township, and strong, erratic

winds are said to be fanning the flames. right now hundreds of people in small towns around there are forced to evacuate. details of the firefighters not released. a giant sinkhole reopened two years after a sinkhole in the same spot killed a man back in 2013. the hole opened under a home near tampa, florida killing a 37-year-old man. officials tore down three houses and filled the hole, but the sinkhole that opened up today is 17 feet wide and 20 feet deep. no one was injured this time, and no nearby homes had to be evacuated. the area in california sinking for a different reason. massive amounts of water are pumped out to deal with the severe drought, the land is literally sinking, and it is faster than previously thought. some places the ground going down two inches a month. and one city fell more than a

foot this year. an exciting time of year for college-bound students and time for freshman to move in. the university of pennsylvania welcomes them tomorrow. and in north philadelphia, friends and family helped them unload. the class includes students from 44 states, d.c. and puerto rico. and villanova, the class of 2019 arrived. the freshman orientation there tomorrow start tomorrow before classes begin on monday. an exciting phase in their lives. and checking accuweather for the rest of the week and maybe changes by friday. >> going from soupy to stormy. >> oh, great. >> and stormtracker double scan showing right now looking pretty clear. we did have some heavy downpours roll through northeast philadelphia, montgomery and bucks county earlier this evening, causing localized flooding. but now really the big story is the fact it is warm and humid. currently temperatures in the 70s.

77 degrees in philadelphia down from the high of 92. fifth day of heat wave four. reading 78, allentown 77 and cape may 75 degrees. the winds often the ocean, the dewpoints most of our region are above 70 degrees. that's a tropical air mass and that's the air mass we will be in right into friday whether a cold front finally moves through. satellite 6 along with action radar showing this front has real estate to get through before it arrivals. it is right now near chicago. ahead of it you can see the surge of moisture. it's a very soupy, soaking set-up. what we have is wind out of the southeast off the ocean. that's an unlimited supply of moisture. so this creates the dewpoints above 70 degrees. very tropical. and then with the slow-moving cold front it will provide enough lift that any downpour can really squeeze out a lot of moisture from the atmosphere. so we're looking at locally 1-3 inches of rain. with those downpours. and the actual cold front moving through in the wee hours of the

morning on friday morning. tomorrow morning we wake up, it is muggy and lots of clouds with a couple of spotty showers, nothing widespread. as we head into the afternoon, it looks like the bulk of the activity will be west of philadelphia. a lot of people ask me about the jimmy buffett concert tomorrow night. you could get a spotty downpour, but most of the active west until the wee hours of the morning. 5:00, this shows a pretty good band of heavy downpours rolling through, and reaching the coast around 10:00. and then that cold front will be stalling offshore and that will provide a few more clouds and some showers along the shore over the weekend. tomorrow if you are on the beaches be careful a moderate risk of rip currents. the ocean temperature 72. the air temperature with the wind off the ocean cooler than inland, 82 degrees with a mixture of clouds and sunshine. but it will be a very humid day down the shore. the accuweather forecast, more clouds tomorrow and temperatures below 90 degrees. 87 degrees, steamy day with

afternoon thunderstorms. and then on friday the soaking start early in the morning as the cold front presses through, 85 degrees. the weekend depends on where you are. inland 85 degrees. closer to the shore more clouds and lingering showers. and then the front will move farther to the west, closer inland sunday. that will bring us more clouds, some breaks of sunshine. temperatures in the 80s and possibility of thunderstorm. warm and humid monday and tuesday, and then wednesday the humidity will drop with a breath of fresh air. the focus of the heaviest weather with the heavy downpours is late tomorrow night into friday morning. >> thank you, cecily. may the force be with the phillies. citizens bank park played host to the second annual star wars night.
