tonight is the potential for flooding rain from some downpours that just won't quit. let's get to meteorologist cecily tynan and stormtracker 6 live. cecily will the heavy rain complicate the morning commute. >> fortunately, this rain will be out in time forever the morning. the problem shown on stormtracker 6 double scan is we have a band of heavy rain through chester, montgomery and into bucks county right now. and this has dropped more than an inch of rain in spots in a short period of time. could get another inch an a half. the national weather service issued flash flood warnings for this area and mainy montgomery to bucks county and includes part of chester, lehigh valley, war chester, lower salford, upper dublin. this area seeing flash flooding and will continue until 3:00 in the morning this is the line i'm talking about. stormtracker 6 double scan. this strengthens over the past 30 minutes. 36 lightning strikes and moving from malvern across 202 through

422 and across the blue route headed to 309. it's not moving quickly. it's moving at about 10 miles an hour. so that's why it's dropping so much rain in a short period of time. now this is another view on double scan live that shows how much rain has fallen and we have been seeing a pretty widespread area of about 3" of rain and parts of berks county and some areas even reporting close to 5" of rain. so because of that, there is a problem of additional flash flooding overnight. good news is that rain will be exiting by dawn and humidity dropping substantially and more details on that and what it means for the the weekend in the accuweather forecast. monica. >> thank you, cecily. it is not your typical stick em up. a bandit held up a post office. that's a federal crime. joining us live from northeast philadelphia with the details tonight, sharee williams. >> the investigation is moving rather quickly because they

found quality surveillance from inside this post office and also from the surrounding businesses. the crime tape is out here. and that is uncommon at a post office. for the employees and customers inside they were scary moments. with 40 minutes closing, investigators say this man walked into the post office on castor avenue and secretly armed with a gun. >> he enters post office rather calmly and goes in and goes up to the counter and again, rather calmly, and proceeds to rob. >> brand dishing a weapon he demand anything of value including cash, cashiers checks and stamps. >> it's really ridiculous and makes no sense to rob a post office. it's a federal offense. >> the postal inspection service saying the gun-carrying man peers 50 to 60 and gray and white bushy beard is hard to miss. police say he robbed a place

stormtracker 6 double scan showing we have steady rain in parts of south jersey and kent county, delaware. i want to show you this line that i've been tracking for the past hour. it it rolled out of berks county and it's now moving across montgomery county into bucks county. and it's actually intensifying. we had 73 lightning strikes in the past 15 minutes. if you live in war chester or lansdale you probably have scared dogs and children in your house. this is pulling tremendous rain. right here on this line crossing blue route we have rain falling at the rate of 2" per hour and that also is creating wind gusts. when you sew we had wind gusts 0 to 40 miles an hour ahead of a cold front sweeping through in the overnight hours. nrosh flood warping posted until 3:00 in the morning for

this area, parts of montgomery, and bucks county flash flooding is already occurring and we could get another inch or inch and a half of rain fortunately this time of night a lot of people are not on the roads. this is the reason why dew points show ultra humid it is tropical out there. dew point in wilmington 47. dover 77. you get much higher. temperatures show it's a warm night now, 70s. 79 in philadelphia down from high of 90. sixth day of heat wave number four. wilmington 38 and 75 in allentown and action radar showing this is the last of the line. it's beginning to braeing up ahead of that cold fronts and that continues to push to coas coast. early tomorrow morning 7:00 it will be off the coast. however we could have some lingering clouds along the shoreline into the afternoon. but along i-95 corridor areas
