hurricane danny in the seven-day forecast when i see you in just a few minutes. on "action news," a family find their son shot in the street, but they couldn't save. he was gunned down in cobbs creek. his family ran outside and put him in the car and rushed him to the hospital. that's where they got the heartbreakerring news he died. police are looking for the gunman, investigators are looking into whether the shooter and the victim got into an earlier fight at the tavern. another man is fighting for his life after another case of gun violence in philadelphia. someone shot a 21-year-old man in grays ferry. he was shot in the chest and legs at 31st dickenson. the victim was taken to penn presbyterian where's in critical condition. so far no arrests or a motive. more news you did not see last night, a husband and wife were robbed inside their northeast philadelphia home, the children were inside during the break in.

the two robbers ran off with # hundred dollars. nobody was hurt in the home invasion. happening today, the family of a man shot and killed by bridgeton new jersey police will call for action. jerome reid's family will join the national awareness alliance. grand jury found the officers acted reasonable who thought their lives were in danger. after removing a gun from the car, he divide orders to stay in the car. his happedz were raised at the time of the shooting. his family is preparing a civil lawsuit. an air force serviceman remains hospitalized after he and two others subdued a man who opened fire on the train.

motive. north korean and south korean officials are going face to face in their first high level talks in years. north korea threatened an all out war against south korea. the north doesn't like the loud speakers they use was involved in the group's finances media operations and logistics. easing winds may allow firefighters to get a better handle on fires that left three firefighters dead.

officials have become to desperate they are calling in volunteers to help battle the wildfires. firefighters are exhausted from battling the complex blaze that burned 600 square miles in the state. thousands of homes are threatened. some homeowners are fleeing with nothing. others are staying to fight the fires themselves. shifting winds have posed a challenge. >> it makes it very, very difficult if not impossible to utilize aviation resources on a day like this. it is just a very challenging day. now, better weather conditions are expected in washington state this weekend. president obama is sending federal aid to help out. the federal government is getting more funding to help new jersey transit recover from super-storm sandy. $71 million will be injected for rebuilding and replacing equipment damaged by the storm. the latest round of funding will

be used in hoboken. the rail agency received 2 billion in sandy funding. new trouble may be on the horizon for the revel. the power supplier is involved in litigation with glen straub the owner of the property. he wants his own heating supplier in place, as a he goes forward with a makeover of the property. he first has to repair smashed windows he blames on giant seagulls. amtrak is hagged trains to help handle the expected increase in riders did you work the pope's visit. the additional cars will run along the northeast corridor from washington, d.c. to new york. the pope is visiting those two cities, as well, before arriving in philadelphia. amtrak is upping the number of trips and adding special stops in philadelphia september 26th

cheerleader has been sentenced for having sex with a teenage boy in delaware. the 48-year-old fell to her knees and cried in court. the mother of three received 15 years in prison, but the judge suspended the sentence in favor of probation. police in california say a burglar, he picked the wrong home and paid for it. police say the would-be burglar tried to break into the home yesterday morning, but woke up to three men inside. they took matters into their own hands and hog tied the burglar. they called police the burglar was charged. watch this, the produce truck didn't make it. got torn apart trying to to go under a railroad bridge that was not quiet high enough. the bridge is 1'06", police say there's so many crashes there's

shooting. new from the overnight, police are looking for leads in a shooting. a # -- 31-year-old man was shot in the stomach and arm. he was rushed into surgery at temple university hospital. he is in critical condition. police are looking for what led to the gunfire and who fired the shots. a 21-year-old woman was hit by a car on her way to see chris brown in concert. the woman was thrown 20 feet down the street. the driver stopped at the scene by the vanity grand where chris brown was taking the stage. medics took the woman to penn presbyterian to be treated for broken legs and bruises. no arrests have been reported. of the police are investigating. a philadelphia police officer is on the other side of the law this morning, he is accused of trying to extort a driver into buying a pair of show tickets or lose his car. disaster in u.s. history. yesterday new orleans mayor visited houston and thanked the city for taking in his fellow residents when they needed a place during a tough time. >> when something bad happens to folks and they need a place to go, some people say there's no room at the inn. that's not what the people of houston did, they opened up their arms. >> more than a million people evacuated new orleans and the gulf coast area before katrina hit. 250,000 ended up in houston. all of us remember those images. >> reporter: i can't believe it's ten years already. a lot of people don't remember for as bad as katrina was, we caught a break with the storm, it had 215 miles per hour, it hit at 125 miles per hour. it weakened, you saw the dam. can damage.
